I probably shouldn't have started this knowing it was never going to be finished-now I want to know how it ends.

It was pretty good for an unedited manuscript. I would have liked to have read the real thing.

Oh well... since it's not going to be released I decided to read the manuscript and wow, it really got me, I mean the beginning was quite awkward but everything got interesting when Leah arrived at the manor, this manuscript seriously has an amazing potential to be an amazing book, something is definitely off in that manor and what about the creepy raven? I mean what kind of old lady that likes to play mommy has a raven as a pet? urgh and I'm pretty sure Chloe knows something and that Violet is just as crazy as this Cordelia lady... oh well I guess I'll never or at least not it a near future know what will happen with Leah, the ghost and the girls.

I hope the author can fall in love with this novel and decides to finish and publish it, if I fell in love with the manuscript I'm sure the book would become one of my top favorites.

Please, Please, Please Finish this book

At first I was hesitant, first chapter didn't really capture my interest but the book just keeps getting better the more that I read...

PLEASE FINISH!!!

It ended on such a cliffhanger and I need to know what happens.

Well. That was interesting. So basically, the author decided he wasn't going to publish the book for personal reasons, and released the unedited manuscript if people wanted to read it. Out of pure curiosity I read all 107 pages of it, and it was...meh. Decent, I suppose, considering he hadn't edited it fully. There was definitely things that I could see being changed had the manuscript been (the grammatical errors drove me CRAZY). I really would've liked to see the final polished product because honestly, this is a very cool, unique concept.

At first it sounded like a bad unwise choice to read a manuscript which will never be published, but knowing that I read it. And it was something new and refreshing unlike all the repeated ideas and similar plots in the recent YA releases. It was interesting from the first chapter, but it definitely made me very excited and thrilled by the time I reached Chapter 3. The writer has a good writing style and the flow smoothly develops making the reader so engrossed in the story. I think it's a really good material for a novel...>.> Exciting, thrilling, and catching...

Well, that was fun.
I only have two complaints (and yes, they're both worth a star since they're kinda big).

First: Leah reminds me of Zoey Redbird from Marked. That's not a good thing. Zoey has a habit of complaining about just about everything in sight, and sometimes stopping the story to complain about something in particular (or to say how nondiscriminatory and tolerant and unprejudiced she is). Leah tones that down a bit, but still.
On her trip to Cordelia's mansion, Leah runs into a bodyguard. She's looking at the girl (and describing the clothing in great detail) when the girl (not so politely, I'll admit) tells her to "stop gawking." So apparently, telling someone to stop staring at you is because the next thing Leah says is "What a bitch."
So sometime in the future, a girl who doesn't want someone to stare at her either has to live through it or get called a bitch. Lovely.

Not to mention that her only friend is a test-tube baby (which is somewhere between inferior and abomination in this society). She even points out that she didn't care about his status, and they're great friends.
Just skip to the great friends part. If she has been friends with him for as long as she says, that probably wouldn't come to mind whenever they meet up.
Also, Cordelia's butler is blind (and homosexual). Both facts are given on the same page. Oh look, Leah doesn't care if he's blind, he's still attractive! Oh look, Leah knows another homosexual guy, he was nice! And liked pink! And complimented her fashion sense!

No, I didn't like Leah much.

Second: The worldbuilding was incomplete. Why did the world become okay with slavery again?
This is partially excused since this is pretty much the first draft, although it bothered me anyway.

I guess that's it.

But why has nobody finished this through fanfiction???

I've had this book on my TBR for a long time. Apparently I hadn't checked it in a while though because surprise, surprise. It's unfinished. And is probably going to stay that way forever. And I was like "fine, I'll just take it off my TBR list.." but there was an unfinished manuscript. And I could read it. And I wasn't going to.

I wasn't going to, I tell you.

But I read someone's review and they mentioned a fake baby and then I was intrigued. A fake baby? Why do they need a fake baby? Why would a fake baby even come up in the story?

So now I am as disappointed as everyone else that the book isn't finished. I wanna know about the fake baby. I wanna know about the dinner they are going to have with Cordelia.. and for the love of all that is holy I wanna know more about Alec.

Alas...

I knew from the moment I added it to my list of to-read it was going to be a book that I couldn't put down. That was about a year and a half or so before it was announced that the book would never be finished and the manuscript was released. I was disappoint but went ahead and got the manuscript and in one sitting late last night I read it.
The beginning was a little chunky, but as the book got further in it was much more smooth, and much more incredible. So many questions were given in the book an none of them answered made me antsy and very hard to go to bed. I do hope that in the near future the author will return to working on this book as for now. We're stuck with a lot of unanswered questions that I, personally, cannot get over.

Hollow is an unfinished and unedited manuscript released by the author online. The synopsis doesn't give away much but I was really pleasantly surprised! The idea is really interesting and kept me intrigued. Obviously, there was a lot of questions left unanswered and I would've liked to see more world building or the story behind the dystopia but for an unedited manuscript it was good. I liked the mystery surrounding the place Leah was sent to, you could really feel it in the air and in the whole atmosphere, and it left me with this uneasy feeling. It's too bad that the book won't be finished, because this fragment is really promising and I would love to know what happens next.

I didn't even read the entire manuscript because I knew I was going to be too disappointed when I would never know what happens. It sounds really good! If Richard Denney decides to publish this, I'm reading it! It sounds good and slightly reminds me of Wither, from the Chemical Garden, which I absolutely loved. This one has a new, fresh story that is different then: "The world is in chaos. Most of the world is poor while a small part is very rich. I have supernatural abilities and will declare rebellion". (Not like I don't LOVE that!) But this one sounds soooooo good and I really really really really really really really really really really want to figure out what happens!

Let's start with the spoiler:

Only 70 pages and we get a model who'as sold (how? why?) to a scary woman living in a spidery mansion with a killer female guard, a devious maid and a blind servant who may be gay and a bunch of teenagers who are too dumb to breathe. Oh, we also have lots of minor characters and a really weird ghost.

I had this feeling while reading Hollow that the author was kind of lost in his own idea. There were too many characters that were plain and not really interesting but not much information regarding the world the main protagonist lives in (why buyig people, why letting them die, who's the Master who allows such things to happen, etc.).
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

This was on my to read list and when I found out the book wasn't going to be finished or published I figured I would knock it out. It's a shame the author gave up on this one. I couldn't really rate it any higher than a 3 without knowing what happens but I thought what I read was great and I would definitely read this if the author every decides to finish it in the future. This has the potential to be a 4 or 5 star rating.

The worst disapointment is that this story is unfinished. Its funny how much I want to know what happened when really nothing happens because the author has the power to create an ending. This story had such a great theme, how it was futuristic. There was so much potential in this story and no one is going to witness it. If you want to feel hollow with disapointment read this although it is a very very very awesome cliff hanger.

Actually it's a shame it's not going to be published. I really liked what I read and really would like to know how everything continues.

Just found out the author is not going to finish this book, but he has the unfinished, unedited manuscript up for free for us to read. I've read it and it was getting interesting, I would've read this book. Pretty cover too.

Meh. Plenty of spelling and grammar errors which made the book very difficult to understand. I also am not sure this was properly formatted, but the story overall was something that I didn't get past halfway into. It didn't captivate me the way so many novels have. I had higher hopes.

This story isn't finished. It started off pretty weird but once we got to the mansion things picked up. I got very interested and I hope the author finishes it. I would read it.
