Shoji Gatoh ( 賀東招二), born on July 11, 1971, is a Japanese author from Shiga Prefecture, Japan. He is best known for the creation of the Full Metal Panic! series that included light novels, manga and anime. He is not only an author but also an anime scenarist, for example "The Day of Sagittarius" of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and three episodes of Lucky Star.
This is the final and concluding volume to the Full Metal Panic! storyline and the saga of Sosuke and Kaname.
As Mithril is about to execute a final last-ditch effort against Amalgam, they find out that Amalgam has also captured a military base on the opposite side of the world: there they have stolen several nuclear warheads and have set them to detonate at the same time as Leonardo's final plan comes into fruition. An already terribly weakened, under-supplied and under-staffed TDD is forced to divide its forces in order to try and combat both threats - both missions essentially become suicide missions.
Here we see the final showdown between Sosuke and Leonardo, and Sosuke having to face the only man that Sosuke ever thought of as a father, in order to decide the fate of Kaname and the entire world - both past, present, and future.
So intense to the very last! What a great way to cap off a wonderful series filled with great characters, intense drama, comedic hi-jinx, military know how, cutting edge mechs, and top it all of with witty repartee. I am sad to be finished at the same time as feeling accomplished and pleased with the ending. I couldn't be happier for our two protagonists as well. They've been through a lot a deserve to be happy.
This is the last book for the main storyline. Besides for the fast paced action scenes, what are the possibility of saving our female protagonist? Can the male protagonist protect her? And can both of our protagonist still remember the oath, which is....?
I really loved it.. But I would love it if Leonard have lived and Tessa would take care of him. Also.. Sir Shoji. Can you make an after story of Kana-chan and Sagara-kun? Looking forward to it.. By the way, I really loved how after so many books.. You were able to make them kiss at the ending..
