Reluctant Muse

Rate this book
Bryce is a practical, plus-sized woman with an L.A. apartment located a world away from the fairytales of Hollywood. So, when a blonde in red leather shows up proclaiming to be a muse and deputizing Bryce, she thinks another L.A. kook has landed on her doorstep. But faster than Bryce can say, "No way, bye-bye, don't let the door hit your skinny ass on the way out," she finds herself in a toga and amulets that are wreaking havoc on her senses. The fight to get out of the toga and return to sanity leaves her butt naked on the neighboring patio. When she realizes her gorgeous next door neighbor is RIGHT THERE with her, it's worse than any bad dream of showing up naked in high school. For Mr. Gorgeous, however, it's been a long time coming. He's been having fantasies of painting Bryce au naturel for months. He's had other fantasies, too, but the shy beauty has turned aside and ignored every attempt to get closer. Now that he's got her halfway there, he's pulling out all the stops. Warning, this title contains the explicit sex and graphic language.

AKA Chance Valentine

Love knows no defeat...

It knows no size...

It knows neither past nor present...

It knows only the one loved and the sweet surrender when two hearts face each other at last and see the reflection of their soul.

I hope you find this true in each story of mine you encounter and finish believing that love knows no defeat, courage knows no defeat, and neither do you.

Ann

Ann Vremont is a mother, wife, licensed attorney, technical writer, high school dropout and former Russian linguist for Army SigInt. She's called Bingo for a living, waitressed at a strip club, scooped ice cream and conducted political surveys—including for the wrong party. She maintains that, if she hadn't dropped out of high school, she would probably be a mineralogist or a geophysicist—lifelong interests reflected in her first title with Ellora's Cave, Calabi Chronicles: Bloodstone. Ann further maintains that if she had never met her husband of fifteen-plus years or had their son when she did, she would probably be making her living illegally—or, if unsuccessful, sitting in jail. She has a large collection of minerals and a growing collection of lighthouses. Having been born and partially raised in Arizona, the mineral collection doesn't surprise her, but she's still puzzling the source of her lighthouse fetish.

3.5 stars. Okay I must admit I didn't like the beginning of the book with the charm bracelet and the bs of her wining. I am sorry, but BBW woman do have issues, but not to an extreme. His mom got on my last nerve also. Sorry but it was not a great story for me.

Fun, cute, quick read. Loved Diaz and liked that there was some of the book from his POV. There was a little too much sex and it all happened very quickly but considering the plot I suppose it had to. It does have a good plot concept and once they got over the initial sexual frenzy it was an interesting story.

I liked that the heroine was plus size - it was the reason I picked it up in the first place. I liked that her curves were not glossed over and she wasn't just a girl with an extra 10 pounds who 'thought' she was fat. It was also great to read Diaz's POV about her body and her progression to accept that Diaz liked her the way she is. I'd probably even give this 3.5 stars.

As I was reading the synopsis for this book, I discovered that I read it a couple of months ago. So I'm adding it to my READ list.

It was definitely a cute and funny story with some steamy bits. I was surprised that it was better than expected.

Quick, fun, well written read. Lots or erotica and I really liked that the heroine was of the chubby variety. Yay!

I actually liked this a lot. I would have given this 5 stars, but I didn't like how I felt the ending was rushed. Otherwise, I loved it!
