Dračí chrám

Rate this book
Existuje bílá kobra a lze jejím jedem vyléčit AIDS? Proč vyslovení jména Tua-yena vzbuzuje hrůzu u místního obyvatelstva? Co přináší zjevení "Smrtonoše"? Kde a proč se koná svatba duchů a jaký má význam? To vše a ještě mnohem víc přináší další kniha Ing.

I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I got it from my mother for Christmas, because she saw "Stories from Asia" and bought it, because I love Japan.

Well, there is no story about Japan in there, but in the end, I really didn't mind.

It's a book written by a traveler, mostly from Thailand and neighboring countries and consist of those kind of stories, that could be true, but also utterly fantasy, depending on what you believe in, or more like what you are able/ready to believe. It's a book about ghosts, good and evil demons and events that let you think, let you ponder.
And I really love this kind of stories, especially the very highly possibility of them really being true. That there is something around us that most of us can't see, can't understand.

The story about the Flying Head really made me chilled, extremely chilled, yet I probably liked it the most.

The only thing that made me unable to give it full 5 stars is the sometimes occurring discontinuity. Like the author starts with writing about one event, in the middle of it goes to another event, where he takes a lot of pages of explaining everything (which not always connect to he story he has been telling us in the beginning) and then goes back to finishing the first story. Confusing, really... but the stories are short, so you don't get lost completely.

It's a short book, but really enjoyable, I would say 4,5 stars from 5 :)
