The Nova Quadrant

Rate this book
When the supernova explodes, all life in the quadrant will end. Most flee, but numerous citizens, including the UU Gang, stay to acquire as much abandoned loot as possible, cheating death and the Rule of Law.

When UU realizes they will be imprisoned if they return to civilization, he develops a plan: his gang must help remaining law enforcement in the quadrant. The plan might work, but it has a fatal flaw: law enforcement does not trust him, and other gangs hate him more than ever.

Life holds little meaning. Traitors abound. Narcissism is a useful quality. Killing is the norm. Dystopia is the present.

To get out alive, UU and his gang must out-smart, out-maneuver, and out-kill their enemies. And their enemies are everyone in The Nova Quadrant.

About the author

Brian W. Peterson

Brian W. Peterson was born and raised in Missouri and now resides in Kansas with his wife, Mindy.

His overactive imagination led to a fascination with writing. Throughout his childhood, he would imagine bad and weird things happening to him and those around him, then he would write down the best ideas, which later served as story ideas. His first novel, the sci-fi adventure "Children of the Sun," reflects that imagination.

Because of his intense dreams, the psychological thriller "Dead Dreams" came to life. His third novel, "Wager of Death," reflects his fascination with having characters who mentally and emotionally spiral out of control due to fear, paranoia, or severe stress.

For his fourth novel, Paper Doll, published in late July 2021, Brian's Scandinavian heritage comes to the fore. The novel is a true story--creative non-fiction--about his grandfather and two uncles coming of age during the Great Depression and World War II.

How will it be to continue when killing has become the norm?
I love reading science fiction stories with themes related to space and unknown worlds and other planets. Considering this interest, this book was a good choice for me.
Maybe the atmosphere in the book will confuse you a little, but you will definitely understand them as you go through the story and you will not be able to postpone reading the book and pass it down...

Reading this story was a pleasant experience for me and I am grateful to the author and the Booktester team for providing me with a copy of it.

💭This book did not have difficult prose and reading it can be suitable for those who are learning English and can be effective for their learning progress.

The Nova Quardrant … astonishing epic space

This gripping novel by Brian W. Peterson will take the reader in a brand new space odyssey introducing a whole fictional cosmos with its tiny details reveals the creative effort of the novelist to take us through the vast universe .
An innovative combination of suspense and intriguing questions about life condition and the nature of evil , and the collective meaning of existence.

The settings of the novel are somewhere in a remote place in the Milky Way galaxy, a cluster of star systems harboured over two dozen inhabited planets which were divided into four distinct quadrants, where civilizations thrived, forming alliances and establishing governments. The four Quadrant faced imminent collapse, threatening to render the entire quadrant uninhabitable. As a result, billions of intelligent beings fled to the other quadrants, causing varied reactions among the residents.
Upon that event, a conflict rose between the opposite reactions towards the fleeing people. Lawlessness and nihilism prevailed among them, leading to the emergence of outlaw fiefdoms and a disregard for life. Technological and economic progress halted as conflicts among outlaw bands escalated.
Chaos and turmoil rock the Quadrant amidst fear and awe about the future of the inhabitants. Where the events lead them ? how can they survive and regain peace over destruction ?
A dose of thriller awaits you in such space fiction you won’t forget .

While this was an interesting read initially, I didn't really connect with it in the way I would have liked. I never really warmed to any of the characters or felt a connection with them, and for some reason, I just didn't fully escape into the world created. In places, some of the writing made me feel as if I was reading a textbook or watching a documentary, rather than reading a novel. If it had been a textbook or documentary, then it would have been an interesting one, but as a sci-fi novel, I found that parts sparked my interest, while others had me feeling indifferent.

This sci-fi Novel kept my attention throughout the reading journey.

When a supernova explodes what happens. Few die. Many escape. Many remain.
But if they remain they must be as prisoners.
But uu have other plans.
He and his gang members help the law enforcement to live.
But there is a catch.
They don't trust him or his gang.

I liked the premise.
I liked the writing style
There is some error in world building but overall a nice ride.

Totally worth .

I usually do not read science fiction but for those who want to try reading science fiction, this book can be an option for you. It's a bit of a light read. The chapters are even-spaced and are good for those who can't commit to books that are longer than 400 pages. The world-building is a bit confusing in the first chapters, but you will get used to it later. I think for a better understanding of world-building, sometimes I just prefer maps or appendices. They are really helpful in giving me a whole summary of the world-building of the book.

Overall, this is a light read. Rytkjmk/Rick and Julie's scenes were fun to read.
