Kitap, roman türlerinden başlayarak, kitabın yayınlanmasına hatta pazarlanmasına kadar olan süreci 20 başlık altında incelemiş. Roman yazma sürecindeki her aşama sırayla ele alınmış. Anlatımlar her ne kadar Türkiye şartlarına uyarlanmışsa da genel hatlarıyla Amerikan kültürü, yaşantısı ve yayıncılık anlayışı baz alınmış.

Ne yapmalısınız sorusu, rüya tabirleri ya da kahve falı gibi cevaplanmış. Her şey yuvarlak yorumlarla ve havadan kalan cevaplarla geçilmiş. Net ve “evet, işte bu” dedirten bir fikir ya da tavsiye yok. Her şey her şekilde anlatılmış. Örneğin arka plan yaratmakla ilgili şu tavsiyeye bir bakın; “ Hikayenize uyan ve romanınızdaki kişilerin amaçlarına ulaşmaları için en uygun arka planı yaratan her şey iyidir.” Birden bir aydınlanma geldi di mi? Aydınlanmadınız mı? Öyleyse sizi şöyle alalım;

Soru: Bir romanda kaç bölüm olmalı?
Cevap: Size bağlı.

Soru: Bir bölümün uzunluğu ne olmalı?
Cevap: Size bağlı.

Soru: Hangisi doğru?
Cevap: Bu konunun kesin bir cevabı yoktur.

roman yazımı, kitap yorumuKısaca her şeyi masaya yatırıp, son kararı size bırakıyor. Karar verememek bir tarafa, size hali hazırda aklınızdakilerden daha fazla seçenek sunup iyice kafanızı karıştırıyor. http://ucalisan.blogspot.com.tr/2016/...

This book offers a great deal of information to help one create, develop, organize and build on ideas for writing novels. I found it inspirational to help me tackle a rewrite I've just completed. I highly recommend it.

Very informative book! The book was presented in an orderly fashion & easy to read & follow along. The only negative is that some of the websites & links listed at the end were out of date and no longer available.

Reading this book during NaNoWriMo was probably not conducive; I bit off more than I could chew. But I think if I prepped for this book properly, it could be informative and inspirational.
