The classic method book for advancing/advanced oboists. If you are a serious oboist, you will study from this work. It has stood the test of time. We are fortunate for having this revised edition by Martin Schuring of Arizona University. I only wish it had come in a spiral-bound form. I made my own using a 3-ring binder.

For the study of articulation, Barrett's book is straight out of the mid-19th century. Still, for intermediate players, there is no book of technique that matches it. My oboe teacher says I will be going through it several times in my future!
