Decent tutorial, glossy presentation, and I learned enough about Tumblr to want to start using it. But I’ve looked around and found comprehensive on-line tutorials that I like just as much.
Tackling Tumbler does a good job of explaining every step of starting your own Tumblr account. It also spends a chapter explaining all the different theme's available. For someone like me who is familiar with setting up a Tumblr account, the beginning chapters were things I already knew.
What I really liked about this book was that the last few chapters were dedicated to explaining how to build your own theme. Which is what I was really hoping it would have. Tackling Tumblr does a good job of explaining CSS, even for CSS beginners like me!
If you're looking for a good resource book about starting your own Tumblr, I would definitely give this one a try.
Simple to follow, easy to read. Now the test, if I can put the words into action, but building a tumblr site based upon the books teachings, I'll come back and add a star.
I liked the use of white space and the simple layout. The text is written in a useful tone and matter of fact way. What I really appreciate is that the author acknowledge's other social media platforms and doesn't ignore competition.
An excellent tool for anyone who wants to learn Tumblr. I use Tumblr for my author website and am trying to lessen my dependency on (paid) outsiders for changes, updates and major revisions. This book was a huge help and I highly recommend it.
