I read this book in just 2 days, and more the 2nd half of the book in a sitting in 3-4 hours, not because the story was too interesting not to be left in mid, but it was so boring that I wanted it to be over as soon as possible, so that I can move on to the next one, hoping it to be at least 4-5 times better and interesting then this.
Coming to the book and the story, I can't understand how is it a bestseller first of all, I picked it up as I had read 'The Promise' and 'If it's not forever' from Nikita Singh, and they made me expect this one to be good too, but didn't seem to be the work of the same author at all, I must say she have improved a lot after this book.
This is a shit in front of them, but then being an author myself with one book released, I know it feels bad when someone slams the book, for a first timer it was a nice attempt I must say, and may be in 2010 the plot could had been new, when facebook was to an extent new and people were freak about it, virtual world became as important as real world, and girls obviously are crazy for well built, smart and hot guys, and if especially he turns out to be a celeb or a star in making.
The worst set back was the end was very predictable and clear after reading the first few pages only, The only beautiful part was Ankit's Proposal, and the way Vatsala realises her love for him and accepts it front of him, and the final slam to Ronit, but a very good fact that I liked at end was that
'One simply cannot be expected to pay a fan as much attention as I'd been execting from him. The amount of attention he had been paying was already too much to ask for.
Yes this line was perfect, I being a new author and get new requests everyday from unknown expecting the same from me, though but ofcourse I am a no celeb or star and definitely not good looking, I also sometime feel people do expect a lot from unknowns. Which is ofcourse wrong.
The best thing I liked is the importance shown towards famous and star personalities on social websites and the kind of craziness the girls have towards them if he is a guy and vice versa, the only reason being personal as I wish to get such importance for once in my life.
All in all a very ordinary book, if you are a new reader you can read, but if you have some real quality books, I don't think you should pick up the book, as you will be disappointed.

*Love @ Facebook is one of the Most Inspiring Book I have ever read*
Inspiring in the sense that if such Trash can be Published, then there are high chances of Indians with even average Story-telling skills to get their books published & be Best-selling Authors.
So the Story starts with a Bored Vatsala skipping channels & coming across Ronit, a VJ on MTV who she is bestotted with. She starts stalking his profile,posting dozens off comments, Liking every pic of his until he notices her. Even after having a huge fan base, Ronit chats with Vatsala still Vatsala makes him a Bad guy at the End, coz according to her, he is Super Busy & his Life doesn't revolve around her. Ankit, has a one-sided love with Vats & whose life revolves around Vats & at the End, the Author makes Ronit look like the Bad Guy just to make Ankit look Good. The Lead Characters Ankit,Ronit & Vats are one-dimentional & sound like Mills & Boons Caricatures. Ankit has a 6 pack,can dance & even is good with Studies. Vats is Beautiful, Charming etc etc while Ronit is a Meterosexual Supermodel with an 8 pack abs. The Climax appears very Fake where super sweet things happen, everything falls in their place blah blah blah. Imagine my Shock, reading this 1 dimentional Book after reading a Haruki Marukami.

A nice refreshing read! Nikita Singh tells us very narratively & points out how we have been addicted to the massive social networking site, 'Facebook'. We have taken up facebook as an important aspect of life, we pay heed to those comments (read: which may not be even true) by unknown people; this has made us communicate in the virtual world better but when it comes to reality, we fail! 'Love @ Facebook' is one such book which deals with a love story happened on mere social networking! This book is a nice read for light reading, the language is simple & is continuous.

Does FB have a Dislike button? That would have been my choice :)
Don't get me wrong - But may be I am not of the age to read this genre now. Hopefully the Gen Y or what ever Gen is currently named; surely would have liked it.
Admired the storyline; maybe the chat scripts kinda narration was what put me off. Kudo's though to Nikita to write on the social network trend and knitting the people aspect in it. Characters are limited and that is the beauty of the story.
Though I did not totally like it - have high hopes from the Author.

It all started with a button called "friend request"...a girl who out of boredom flips channels on a saturday evening where she lands on a random tv show on MTV , where a dashing young man is hosting the show. Her curiosity leads her to stalk him on Facebook where she eventually sends him a friend request.
Cliche ,and overly -exaggerated are the words which describe this book. The author portrays a young teenager who is confused about her feelings about whom she loves , the friend who has been there all the time for her or the handsome VJ she met through Facebook. She has been fascinated by the fact that the VJ talks to her and comments on her pictures even though he's a huge celebrity . Stalking him leads to infatuation and being infatuated by him leads to being addicted with him. At the end the she finally realizes who is right for her .
This book is not for people who aren't patient , this books gives exaggerated details and bores the reader with the protagonists love life and college life.
In conclusion , the author did a mediocre job on helping us understand the protagonists dilemma.
In my point of view the author did a good job depicting India from a NRI's point of view , as she shared the same understanding of bollywood and indian soap operas as me .

seriously.... I want to know, how, in the name of the lord, can she claim herself to be the best seller.....
if you are fed up with your life and has nothing to do with your existence...... if you want to put an end to your intellectuality..... if you want to develop an immense hatred towards Indian literature...... just pick up this book. ... all assured that you won't take more than 4 to 5 hours to finish it up ....

on the other hand, a boy, her childhood friend develops a crush on her and one fine day, he openly expresses his love with a result of an answer "no.".

Narration is witty.
Chapter presentation is interesting.

Love @ Facebook is an easy read. A simple story of a college going girl who is caught up between her feelings for her best friend and a celebrity she befriended (so she thinks) on Facebook. Everybody has crushes- the hot movie star, the cute TV guy, RJ with an enchanting voice, next door neighbour. But they always remain that... crushes... rarely it goes to a different level altogether.
The protagonist Vatsala is a regular girl with whom one can connect instantaneously as we have gone through similar stuff in all those growing up years. You tend to think how silly can she be, or maybe she should have done this, or awww....I would have done the same. In a span of 5 months, Vats lets us see her thoughts, her relationships, her fear, her silliness and her eternal hunger pangs (:P). The ending is the one I love- Happy (ever after). :) :)

I wish I could give negative stars.
OH MY GOD.
THIS IS SO BAD I FEEL THE NEED TO TYPE IN FUCKING CAPITALS.
The prose. Oh God, the prose. The story. The characters. There isn't a thing which can't be disliked about this book. The narration sounds like it's being done by an eleven year old, the protagonist is as immature as a five year old and lacking in depth as a thousand Bella Swans put together. Even the first two sentences of the book are so putting off. I'm seriously concerned about the fate of India. How did this shit even get published?

Firstly, for those who wants to read "accidently in love" and "love@facebook", I will definitely ask them to read "love@facebook" first and then "accidently in love". 'love@facebook" is like part I and "accidently in love" is the continuation.
Now coming to the book ----
A very simple story of a girl named Vatsala, her life, her relationship, all the ups and downs she faces. Vatsala falls in love with a guy named Ronit, a celebrity. Whereas, her long time friend, who always stays with her during her ups and downs named Ankit, fall in love with her. He confesses, but she rejects him saying she is already in love with someone else. After numerous chats with Ronit, she realises he is not the type of guy, she was looking for. And after realises she cannot stay with him any longer, she came back to her senses. She decided to confess her love for Ankit. And everything came back to normal.
Now coming to the book ----

it's more like 2.5/5, but on the lower end because the plus 0.5 is because she wrote it in college when she was 19.
Now getting to the story, it was very quick read but the plot was so childish and unnecessary, and didn't demand putting effort into it. A love triangle with almost zero input from one of the three, seemed a lame idea to me and so it didn't help me have fun.
Vatsala the protagonist had a nice touch to her character, being all stubborn and her transformation was good to see.That's all...

the story is good....written from a girl's perspective of the people/boys around her. The best parts are the FB chats and 'her' nuances. Bitchiness at its best at some parts of the book..!!
Read it for its refreshingly different writing and an insider's view into the mind of the fairer sex....enjoy!!

This is Author's first book published. It clearly portrays mind of a young girl looking for love in facebook, and going away from reality.
Story line is not very interesting. However the writing style of the author is good and made me finish the book in 1 day.
Recommended for young readers only.

Its the very first time I ever read for Nikita Singh and its the second novel I ever read in Indian literature as it its obvious from the title it talks about how we become so obsessed with social media that we do not enjoy real life or notice the people around us..

First of all a huge clap for this author as she dared to pen down a novel only at ninteen.

The book definitely has some nice moments and teens will like it more (What was I doing, reading it!)

Typically expected story, and nothing new, besides those old cliched stuff. Chapters are more like chats and the plot is weak at places. Characterization is also not exceptionally good, and somehow, it fails to drag the reader's attention.
