මෙම පොත වෙනස්ම ආරක කතා පුවතකි. මතුපිටින් මෙම පොත කියවන්නෙකුට හමු වන්නේ උමතු ගැහැනියකි. ගස් වැල් සමඟ සාමාන්‍ය මිනිසුන් හා සමානවම කතා කරන්නා සේම කතා කරන උමතු ගැහැණියක් හමු වෙයි.

එහෙත් මේ පොතේ ගැඹුරට කිදා බහින්නෙකුට සුවිශේෂි ගැහැණියක් හමුවේ. ඈ ගස් වැල් වලට ආදරය කරන පරිසර වේදිනියක් යැයි මා කීවොත් වැරදි නැත.

පොතේ කතුවරයා මෙම පොත හඳුන්වා දී ඇති ආකාරය පහත දැක්වේ.

එළි පෙහෙළි ලෝකයක කැලෑව සුවිශේෂිය. ප්‍රඥාවන්තිය කැලෑවේ සැඟවී සිටියි. කැළෑව එළි පෙහෙළි කළ විටද ඇය දැකිය නොහැක. මන්ද යත් සුවිශේෂත්වය එළිපෙහෙළි වී සාමාන්‍ය බවට පත්ව ඇති හෙයිනි.
සාමාන්‍යජීවිතය තුල ඈ උමතු කාන්තාවකි.සාමාන්‍ය ජීවිතයෙ සැරිසරන්නන්ට මේ උමතු ගැහැනිය නිතර දෙවේලේ හමු වේ.එහෙත් සුවිශේෂත්වය තුළ ඈ ප්‍රඥාවන්තියකි.

මෙය උමතු ගැහැනියක පිලිබද කතාවක් නොවේ. සාමාන්‍ය ගැහැණුන් දෙදෙනෙකු පිලිබද කතවකි. ඔබේ සිත් මානය අනුව ඔවුනට උමතු බව ආරෝපණය වීම හෝ නොවිම සිදු වේ.

මේ පොත කියවා අවසන් කලා පමණයි. ඇත්තටම හොඳ කතා තේමාවකින් යුතු පොතක්. ඔහු සිදුවීම් දෙකක් සංසන්දනය කරන විදිය මගේ සිත් ගත්තා. Homework කර නැති ගතිය නම් දැනුනා.

සහතික ඇති නමුත් න්‍යායාත්මක දැනුමක් පමණක්ම ඇති උගත් යැයි කියාගන්නා අය සහ පරිසරය සමඟ ජීවත් වෙන ප්‍රායෝගික දැනුමෙන් හෙබි, සමාජයෙන් කොන් කරන ලද සැබෑ පරිසරවේදිනියකගේ වෙනස මෙම කෘතියේ ප්‍රධාන මාතෘකාවයි.

වෙනස් තේමාවකින් යුතු කතාවක් නිසා ලාංකිකයන් වශයෙන් කියවිය යුතුම කතාවක් කියා හැඟුනා.
