This book is an engaging intro to the outdoors for kids. I hope it will engage my own when they are a little older, starting around 6 or so. The photos and activities should be appealing, but from there they will have to search out other sources. As I write this, we are having a blizzard in New England. I think the plaster casts of snow prints activity might be a fun use of the book right away.

L is camping obsessed (funy, since we've never been camping with him) - and this is a great reference for everything from making a tent to activities with bugs and track identification. cute!
