I went into reading this book with no high expectations. Thinking it was your old run of the mill drug dealer finds girl book. But boy was I wrong! I loved it and all the others to follow. I can't wait for the next ones in the series to come out. I love Deja and Jade's BFF relationship. I love that Deja doesn't play the damsel in distress and she doesn't play hard to get. It's nothing worse than reading the more than half of the book before the main characters hook up. The fact that X and Jay were in the game but had enough sense to get out and become business men is rewarding. However, don't let the suit fool you they handle their business when need be.

This is a great series. I could not put the books down. I started with the 1st book and immediately had to download all the rest. I read 1-4 in one night. I can't wait for 5 to come out. I am a new fan.

I actually started on #two by accident and had to stop! By the time I downloaded them all, I finished them within a day and a half! I don't know if Xavier or Jay was the hottest!!!!!! Please book #5 soooooon! I need more.

I have had this book for a while and have been hearing such great things about it so i decided to check it out. I thought that it was an interesting story line, you have no other choice but to feel bad for Deja and they way she had to grow up. She struggled for a while until things got better and then had to deal with the emotional effects of loosing her parents as well as her relationships wth men when she got older. It seemed liked evertyime Deja caught a break something else would go wrong. There was a lot of Drama in the book with Jay and Xaviers ex girlfriends they were crazy, but because they kept doing things it kept you wanting to know what would be the outcome. I liked Xavier and Deja together.... will continue to read the rest of the series to see what happens with everyone. I believe this book was the authors debut novel so there were a few gaps that i think could have been filled in just to make it flow a little more, but other than that i thought it was ok... i give it a 3.5.

I am ENJOYING THE HECK outta this book! This author is a new one on my list but I will defnintely be getting more of her books. I swear I cannot put this book down its sooooo good! It has DRAMA, its SEXY, it has MORE DRAMA and has parts that have had me laughing until I was crying!!! My husband came in the room to see if I was ok! Ya'll need to get this one because it will take you on a drama filled, fast paced ride. I haven't finished part one but I have already downloaded part two on my Kindle because I wanna just keep reading. This author is a great story teller!!!!

Pretty good read... There wasn't anything that I strongly disliked and there wasn't anything that I absolutely loved.. but it did keep me entertained enough to want to read book 2.

Sigh... yes again I have the complaint of having to read multiple books just to complete a story. I am finding this a regular occurrence with urban AA books.

Signing off... Baby momma and ex girlfriend drama.. makes for a pretty good read... WHEN you are in the mood for it that is...

A Page-Turner

I couldn't stop reading it. I love Deja & Jade's friendship in this book. Everything that happened was completely unexpected which is what I loved the most about this book. I wonder who killed Mona if Jay & Xavier didn't do it? I'm ready to read part 2!!

Entertaining

Deja and Jade have obstacles in front of their lives that may very well change their futures. coming from troubling past situations they just want the best possible outcome for themselves. I can't wait to read part two of this.

I had to re-read this and just as the first time it was good!!! Latasha was a nut case and Mona was a stalker. Glad that Deja didn't just give up on Xavier bc of Tasha her mess.

That was a lot. Drama makes for a good story. Sadly, life imitates drama for so many. It's hardest when children are involved.

After hearing so much about this series and seeing all of the 5* reviews, I finally decided to read this book. Sadly, I was disappointed. I felt like the book jumped from scene to scene without any details in between. One minute she was 10, the next minute she's graduating college. of course I'm exaggerating a little with that timeline tho, but it pretty much sums up how I felt about the entire book. I needed explanations and clarity on certain parts of the book and I never got it. I also felt that the sentence structure in the book wasn't the best and it through me off. Unfortunately, there was nothing in the book that caught my attention and made me want to run and read part 2. I understand that this is the author's first book, so hopefully the rest of the series was much better.

Deja lived thru a tragic experience early in life that had a lasting impression upon the soul of her being.

Jade is Deja's bff and the person who introduced Deja to Xavier.

Xavier is the educated street hustler turned entrepreneur and the no nonsense man of Deja's dream. Unfortunately his baby mama drama is out of pocket.

Jay is Xavier's cousin/partner and fiancee of Jade with a stalker ex.

This was a really quick read that kept me interested throughout. Lots of drama. Looking forward to starting the follow up tomorrow.

This book started out very rushed...and I found it kind of hard to get into...but the more I read, the more interesting the book got...Deja and Jade have the friendship that we all want...Jay and Xavier are two guys that us ladies dream about...but of course with all the good there's got to be some crazy...and Latasha and Mona are definitely crazy...This book is a great read and I can't wait to finish the series!

I enjoyed this book! At first I was a bit skeptical because of the writing in the beginning seemed a bit uh oh-ish but it picked up quickly. I loved Deja, Xavier, Jay, & Jade's characters. I liked how their relationship was genuine and no matter how different females tried to break them apart, they couldn't..

I can't wait to see Xavier's baby mama get her's!! She's evil and manipulative. I believe I know who she was in the car with and I know that some major drama will be going down...

Jay and X are the best men you could ever want even though they used to be in the life the got out and made good for there self I hope they keep going on the right path. Great read.

I read this book in one sitting I could not put it down. This was my first time reading anything from this author and I really enjoyed it. I loved the friendship between Deja and Jade and how they both overcame serious childhood traumas. Can't wait to start on part 2

Great read. If I was Deja I would took care of that witch Latasha a long time ago. I love the relationship that Deja and Jade have. It's good to see 2 good men, Jay and Xavier holding it down for the women they love. On to Part 2.
