The basis of this novel was very good but I felt things were kind of rushed; that there would have been more happening in between the events. Also more time for the characters to fully develop, they felt very ... one dimensional to me I suppose and the 'surprises' we get would have been much more shocking and impacting as well.

But again it had a good basis and I will read the next book in the series to see how the author has done with it.

Personally grammer and spelling put aside, the pace of it was to a point rushed but thorughly enjoied the story. the character felt real and the plot was not lost. Honestly it felt like you could be in the world. Though, the feeling would be intensived if more immersive experiences were added. All in all. Bravo Calvin Westbrook!

Today I came across this first instalment in an M/M supernatural series and I realised I had somehow already read it.

As the publishing dates do not help, I really do not know which is the revision and which the first draft.

The two works are essentially identical even if some details of the plot are different. Unfortunately -see my review there- both show the same need for a thorough editing.
I will not repeat all the comments of the other review except by saying that, while the ideas behind the plot are good, their execution is below publishing standard and a lot of work is needed to improve it.
