¿Aún tengo oportunidad, Shion? ¿Aún seré capaz de vivir sin ti? ¿Seré capaz de liberarme de la trampa en que te haz convertido? ¿Seré capaz de separarme?
¡Este volumen ha terminado buenísimo! Me lo leí muy rápido. Ahora solo debo controlarme o me terminaré las novelas pronto y no quiero.
A Shion lo estoy queriendo mucho más que antes. Me encantan los cambios sutiles que va teniendo sin perder del todo como es él: altruista, inocente, adorable, sensible.
Siendo su contraparte, Nezumi, por quien tengo un amor/odio en estos momentos
Si bien comprendo mucho su forma de actuar, la coraza que tiene para protegerse, el que crea que las emociones son débiles y los muchos golpes de realidad que le da a Shion, hay momentos donde no me agrada como lo trata.
Igual siento que de cierta forma se complementan. Además de que por muy pocos momentos se puede ver como, sutilmente, hay más que comentarios sarcásticos, impulsividad irritable y reacciones indiferentes.
¿Qué espero del próximo volumen?
• El pasado de Nezumi. Con un poco me conformo.
• Más profundidad acerca de No.6 y qué es eso de las muestras.
Menciones extras a:
• Karan. Entre otras cosas amé su comprensión. Aunque... lo de la nota fue un ¿es en serio? ¿ES EN SERIO?

E non era tutto...a due anni, quando era stato riconosciuto come un individuo top ranking negli esami, aveva acquisito il privilegio di vivere nel lussuoso quartiere di Cronos. Tutti i suoi residenti avevano accesso a trattamenti di prima classe in molti aspetti. Prima di incontrare Nezumi in quella notte tempestosa nel suo dodicesimo compleanno, era stato circondato da tutto ciò che potesse desiderare, tutto di prima qualità. Vivere con Nezumi nel West Block per Shion è come aprire gli occhi su una realtà che da sempre aveva avuto sentore fosse sbagliata, irreale, manipolata. Adesso Shion ne ha la consapevolezza. Ma non è facile per lui adattarsi a questo nuovo mondo.
Non è abituato a non fidarsi degli altri, è ingenuo e cerca la logica in ogni cosa, ma non c’è logica dove c’è disperazione.
Nel secondo volume il rapporto tra Shion e Nezumi si fa più complicato.
Shion preme per sapere di Nezumi, Nezumi è sempre sulla difensiva. Vorrebbe aprirsi, ma si blocca sempre. Shion è la sua debolezza e non può permettersi di essere debole.
Inoltre, se Shion vuole sopravvivere fuori da No. 6 deve imparare a cavarsela da solo, non può sempre contare su Nezumi, il quale è davvero abile nello scomparire quendo Shion si ficca nei guai (e gli capita sempre!) ma è sempre pronto a soccorrerlo se le cose si mettono male, come nella scena con la prostituta che ho adorato nell’anime e semplicemente amato nella light.
||“Ti dispiace?” Una voce li interruppe. “Lui appartiene a me.”
Nezumi era fermo all'entrata del vicolo. La donna corrugò le sopracciglia.
“Cosa?”
“E' mio, posso riaverlo indietro?” Nezumi tese la mano come per afferrare Shion.
La donna tirò su il mento e sorrise leggermente mentre comprendeva.
“Ho capito. Ora mi spiego perché stava avendo reazioni così lente. Questa dolcezza non è interessata alle donne.”
“Bhe, in realtà non è vero, io sono..."
Nezumi gli premette una mano sulla bocca e sorrise alla donna.
“Esatto. È così preso da me che anche la più bella donna non riuscirebbe ad
attirare la sua attenzione in questo momento.”
La donna fece spallucce come per dire 'ah beh'. Guardò storto Shion. “Soldi”
disse. “Non mi interessa quali siano le sue preferenze, ma devo essere pagata per quel bacio. Una moneta d'argento.”
Nezumi sorrise leggermente.
“Un'intera moneta d'argento per un bacio? Piuttosto cara.”
“Quello è il suo valore. Se dolcezza qui non può pagare, faresti meglio a pagare tu per lui. Non sei il suo amante? Non credo sia un peccato dividere il conto ogni tanto.”
“Immagino tu abbia ragione. Sì, sicuro. Posso avere il resto allora?”
“Resto?”
Nezumi si avvicinò alla donna. Afferrò il suo braccio mentre indietreggiava e le si accostò.
“Cos..."
Le labbra della donna, aperte nel mezzo della frase, incontrarono quelle di
Nezumi. Accadde proprio davanti agli occhi di Shion. La donna resistette per un momento, poi si arrese. Solo la sua gola nuda ed esposta si contraeva leggermente nel deglutire. Un cane stava ringhiando da qualche parte in lontananza. Un ratto di fogna passò attraverso i piedi di Shion e scomparve. Nezumi si allontanò dalla donna.
“Come è stato?” chiese.
“Non male” rispose. “Ma non abbastanza da darti il resto.”
“Peccato" disse Nezumi in modo addolorato. “Allora ecco, per la milady.”
Nezumi posizionò un'arancia tra le mani della donna e le diede le spalle. Trascinò Shion via per il braccio.||
Nel secondo volume facciamo la conoscenza di un personaggio molto particolare (non si capisce se sia maschio o femmina, nell’anime io ho avuto l’impressione che fosse femmina), Inukashi, il o la “presta cani”, un personaggio molto simile a Nezumi, che ha evidentemente sofferto e conosce bene la vita nel West Block, tanto da considerare Shion un vero idiota e chiedersi come mai Nezumi sia finito a occuparsi di lui.
Ma noi sappiamo bene cosa provi Nezumi per Shion.
Questa Light mi spezzerà il cuore!

I don't know. I mean, it's still too early to judge it as a whole and all but... having both watched the anime and read the translated part of the manga already, I can say that I like the anime way better.
I mean, I totally get where he's coming from but Nezumi is just too bitter and full of hate all the time, conversely Shion is just way too "natural" as constantly stated there; and this portrayal of the characters feels sort of predictable.
In the anime, somehow, they are portrayed more complexely and gray instead of black and white. Meaning, their personalities don't come up as exact opposites of the spectrum and the relationship is much more less turbulet and more solid...)
Again, I don't know, but the main reason I still can't stop crying about the beauty of the anime is because the dynamics on their relationship were so refreshing and the chemistry was so bold and unique...
Never mind me,just rambling, I do see where the author is coming grom and I still absolutely adore this story I will avidly read 'til the end.

Hay muchas cosas que quiero decir, pero sinceramente intentaré ser lo mas breve posible.
No.6 en general es una historia de dos tonos, o todo es blanco o todo en negro a excepción de Nezumi que aparenta ser completamente malvado, intenta marcar esa diferencia del chico duro el cual le ha tocado una vida complicada y que ese "armazón" (si se podría llamar de alguna forma) se ve quebrado por completo por Shion, que simplemente es puro, es noble, muy blando. Mas o menos en esto se desarrolla esta segunda entrega, como ambas partes intentan mezclarse.
Aún así, hay cosas que me siguen chocando, cuando se habla de Safu, su relación con la historia y el rol en No.6 (tengo vagos recuerdos de la serie, perdón)
Finalmente, la cuota de relación se da poco a poco, Nezumi entre la duda sobre Shion y claro, también la duda que nos deja a nosotros sobre el nombre que se le puede dar a esta oleada de sensaciones, emociones y sentimientos entre ambos.
Me daré una pausita antes del libro tres uvu

I mean, despite Nezumi being a lil bit abusive to Shion, I feel for him and everything he went through? Also, my heart goes to Karan, I feel for her helplessness.
The struggle between Shion's idealistic approach and Nezumi's destructive ideas is apparent again, and I wonder if the'll ever reach a compromise, or will they lose each other in the end?

Okay, so I will readily admit that this is totally full of cliches and tropes, but I really don’t care, because the dystopian aspects of this story are so good and I am absolutely in love with the characters.

This really takes me back. It's interesting reading this so many years later and seeing just how much my perspective has changed. I used to think Nezumi was the more relatable one... and part of me still thinks that he is. He's cynical. He's guarded. He's hardened by the world around him. That's what's made him so strong. But, as I've grown up, I've started to understand Shion's perspective. It takes so much strength and maturity to strive to understand others. It's hard to love, to care, and to have hope but Shion does anyway. It's lovely how earnest he is about everything.

We finally get to know the west block, and, oh, how I loved this raw place! Additionally, two new supporting characters are introduced and we partly learn what exactly Nezumi does for a living. I also really like the idea of Inukashi's business, btw.
Shion and Nezumi keep arguing over pretty much everything (let's face it: Nezumi couldn't be more negative ^^), but I was intrigued by the fact, that even though Nezumi has more life expetience, he didn't always win. I really hope they won't end up as enemies.
Of course they're still surrounded by books which remain a major subject in the story. I can't even start telling you how happy this is making me! A new major point is appearance which i personally am very interested in its development.
Anyways, a really enjoyable, fast read that at some points made me stop, close my e-reader, and think.

But at the end of the book, I spotted a TSTL character!

Also I'm a bit confuse with that former journalist role here.
I meant, I thought that Karan's note was will reveal bigger thing other than a former youth crush right?!
Still, it's a delightful read!

人類が生き残りをかけて作った６つの都市の１つNO.6。今後、他の都市も登場するのでしょうか？揺らぎ始める自分の価値観。紫苑とネズミそれぞれに起こる心境の変化が絶妙なタッチで描かれています。ネズミは沙布のことを紫苑に伝えるのかな？！「単行本あとがき」を読むと、あさのあつこさんの創作の葛藤もうかがわれ、ますます好きになりました。

3.5🌟, sempre carino leggere di Nezumi e Shion che discutono del più e del meno, e passano dallo scherzare e prendersi in giro a lanciarsi contro accuse e verità fastidiose, ma in certi punti è diventato quasi noioso -
Alcuni dialoghi sono ripetitivi, riprendono argomenti già presenti nel primo volume, e solo in alcuni casi li approfondiscono. Mi aspettavo anche più trama, ma immagino vada bene anche così, ho capito che è più incentrato sulla crescita dei personaggi, cosa che rientra più nei miei interessi.
Ci sono scene che nell'anime sono completamente assenti, come Shion che si butta impulsivamente in una rissa e ne esce per un pelo, o altre occasioni in cui è in difficoltà e riesce a cavarsela o con l'astuzia o con la sua immancabile gentilezza. Sono tutti momenti in cui Nezumi lo "abbandona" e gli permette di sperimentare la cruda realtà del Blocco Occidentale, e ho trovato interessante come nonostante la sua freddezza, Nezumi sia sempre nascosto da qualche parte vicino a Shion, pronto a tirarlo fuori dai pericoli all'ultimo momento. Cosa che non avviene, perché Shion dimostra di sapersela cavare, guidato dalla disperazione e paura più che altro. Ma Nezumi è lì (troppo orgoglioso per ammettere a se stesso e a Shion che ci tiene alla sua incolumità, ma inconsciamente preoccupato per la sua incolumità) e Shion lo sa (ha l'impulso di chiamarlo, ma sa anche che deve abituarsi a vivere in un ambiente ostile) (detto tra noi, mi sa che a Shion piace quando Nezumi lo chiama "good boy" o rimane soddisfatto dalle sue azioni).
Altra parte carina è stato il finale, con Nezumi che finalmente ammette a se stesso che non riuscirebbe a sradicare Shion dalla sua vita tanto facilmente. Il passaggio dall'immaginare le sue giornate senza la presenza punzecchiante di Shion (e l'elenco di cose che potrebbero migliorare senza di lui) alla scena con Nezumi davanti la sua stanza che sembra immensamente vuota senza Shion ha colpito forte💔
Non vedo l'ora di leggere gli sviluppi futuri; anche se so già cosa succede, queste light novels stanno approfondendo un sacco l'introspezione dei personaggi.
Stra belli i pov di Karen (la madre di Shion) e Safu (la ragazza che lo ama), dove Karen implora quasi Safu di non rischiare la sua vita per Shion, di aspettarlo, e se dovesse accadere, di superarne la perdita, perché "una donna può vivere anche senza un uomo". È il consiglio di una madre che è stata lasciata indietro dall'uomo che amava, che ha perso il figlio, ma che spera di rivederlo ancora. Ed è stato bellissimo anche vedere Karen emozionarsi davanti l'impeto di Safu, pronta a rinunciare ai suoi privilegi per rincorrere Shion, Karen vede la forza dell'amore e della giovinezza e le immagina ormai lontane da sé, le fanno venire nostalgia della ragazza speranzosa che era stata un tempo. Non dimenticare, ma neanche annegare nei sentimenti negativi, lei rimane invece aggrappata agli sprazzi di felicità che trova giorno dopo giorno - dai bambini che vengono a farle compagnia, ai suoi clienti che le chiedono di non chiudere la sua pasticceria-. Sono proprio le piccole cose a rendere ogni giorno speciale, e sono felice che il pov di Karen ce lo abbia ricordato ❤️

Alcuni dialoghi sono ripetitivi, riprendono argomenti già presenti nel primo volume, e solo in alcuni casi li approfondiscono. Mi aspettavo anche più trama, ma immagino vada bene anche così, ho capito che è più incentrato sulla crescita dei personaggi, cosa che rientra più nei miei interessi.
Ci sono scene che nell'anime sono completamente assenti, come Shion che si butta impulsivamente in una rissa e ne esce per un pelo, o altre occasioni in cui è in difficoltà e riesce a cavarsela o con l'astuzia o con la sua immancabile gentilezza. Sono tutti momenti in cui Nezumi lo "abbandona" e gli permette di sperimentare la cruda realtà del Blocco Occidentale, e ho trovato interessante come nonostante la sua freddezza, Nezumi sia sempre nascosto da qualche parte vicino a Shion, pronto a tirarlo fuori dai pericoli all'ultimo momento. Cosa che non avviene, perché Shion dimostra di sapersela cavare, guidato dalla disperazione e paura più che altro. Ma Nezumi è lì (troppo orgoglioso per ammettere a se stesso e a Shion che ci tiene alla sua incolumità, ma inconsciamente preoccupato per la sua incolumità) e Shion lo sa (ha l'impulso di chiamarlo, ma sa anche che deve abituarsi a vivere in un ambiente ostile) (detto tra noi, mi sa che a Shion piace quando Nezumi lo chiama "good boy" o rimane soddisfatto dalle sue azioni).
Altra parte carina è stato il finale, con Nezumi che finalmente ammette a se stesso che non riuscirebbe a sradicare Shion dalla sua vita tanto facilmente. Il passaggio dall'immaginare le sue giornate senza la presenza punzecchiante di Shion (e l'elenco di cose che potrebbero migliorare senza di lui) alla scena con Nezumi davanti la sua stanza che sembra immensamente vuota senza Shion ha colpito forte💔
Non vedo l'ora di leggere gli sviluppi futuri; anche se so già cosa succede, queste light novels stanno approfondendo un sacco l'introspezione dei personaggi.
Stra belli i pov di Karen (la madre di Shion) e Safu (la ragazza che lo ama), dove Karen implora quasi Safu di non rischiare la sua vita per Shion, di aspettarlo, e se dovesse accadere, di superarne la perdita, perché "una donna può vivere anche senza un uomo". È il consiglio di una madre che è stata lasciata indietro dall'uomo che amava, che ha perso il figlio, ma che spera di rivederlo ancora. Ed è stato bellissimo anche vedere Karen emozionarsi davanti l'impeto di Safu, pronta a rinunciare ai suoi privilegi per rincorrere Shion, Karen vede la forza dell'amore e della giovinezza e le immagina ormai lontane da sé, le fanno venire nostalgia della ragazza speranzosa che era stata un tempo. This was toxic relationship galore, such a good portrayal of when two completely opposing forces collide.
It's like they violently crash, try to run away from each other, but are yanked back by an invisible thread, and crash again. Or well, at least Nezumi does. Shion runs head-on towards him, undeterred, no matter how badly Nezumi struggles and pushes. The toughness is nothing more than a survival mechanism to hold on to his own believes, his emotions. And the more threatened those become, the more desperately he grips its threads, the more aggressively he flies off the handle, because without his revenge and his anger he has nothing. Shion gets under his skin: outwardly it makes for an enraged counter-reaction, but inwards what he truly loathes is the fact that Shion is leaving his grubby imprints underneath his flesh. That someone so opposite to him, someone he underestimates, would have the power to find an opening into what he thought should be an impenetrable defense... he's truly pissed off with himself, and he directs that anger towards Shion. Shion, for his part, is undeterred, even if he doesn't realize with how much force he's already managed to latch onto Nezumi; in fact he believes he isn't able to, due to Nezumi always withdrawing away emotionally.
I'm specially interested in Nezumi's ability to deal blows and immediatly follow it up with gentleness towards the very recepient of those blows. I don't know how Shion is capable of withstanding that whipplash. I think he loves the fact that such an emotional rollercoaster is a novel thing to feel. I'm sure it's connected to Nezumi's emotional stuntedness, and I'll be eagerly waiting to see how that changes later on.
Their ideals and desires take them each on two separate paths, but they're still parallel to each other. I already know from the anime more or less how it'll all pan out, and I'm still fully seated.
We're finally getting to know more about the city and it's artificers and what they're planning. I love that we get an insight into their minds as well, something we thoroughly lacked in the anime.
The depictions of how each character deals with grief so differently are incredible, too.
Also, I got to say, long live Inukashi.

Nowelka jest bardzo krótka, ale za to i bardzo dobra, i niekoniecznie przez wzgląd na fabułę. Bohaterowie, relacje między nimi i to, co się dzieje wokół nich - to prawdziwa siła No. 6, które ma miejsce w postapokaliptycznym świecie. Tu się nie da zaskoczyć czytelnika, obraz, który przedstawia Atsuko Asano nie jest niczym, czego wcześniej nie widzieliśmy. Piękne miasto, w którym żyją "szczęśliwi obywatele", a rząd sprawuje nad nimi władzę. Z drugiej strony, tereny dawnych miast, stare, zniszczone budynki, umierający z głodu i zimna ludzie, brud, smród, ubóstwo, ale i wolność... Mówię, wizja autorki nie jest niczym niezwykłym, ale to nie w tym siła. Shion to naiwny, pozbawiony wyobraźni dzieciak, który przez całe życie żył w innym, piękniejszym świecie. Obok mamy Nezumiego, wycofanego, strojącego od ludzi nastolatka, który przeszedł w życiu wiele i wie, jakie okrucieństwa niesie ze sobą rzeczywistość. Interreakcje między tymi postaciami są bezcenne. Obserwujemy, jak ich przyjaźń rośnie w siłę, a zalążki miłości kiełkują. Ich relacje są naturalne, są przyjemne, są inne od tych, które znamy z typowych anime, mang czy novelek. Tu brak wymuszonych na siłę wyzwań, mocniej bijącego serca, sztucznych pocałunków, tu są tylko wydarzenia, tu są tylko rozmowy, a w nich dwaj bohaterowie, którzy powoli poznają się, którzy powoli otwierają się. Shion na rzeczywistość, a Nezumi na marzenia. Mówię, historia nie jest w żaden sposób wyjątkowa, ale bohaterowie, relacje między nimi sprawiają, że czyta się z przyjemnością!

Maybe it's because this volume basically just re-treads the story up to where I left the anime, but for some reason I found this one less interesting than the first volume. I mean I'm still enjoying the story overall (I'm dying to know what happens next!), but getting through some sections of this one was nothing short of a slog. I suppose the ever-so-slightly overwrought prose doesn't really help matters (and on that note, I can't decide if it really is overwrought, or if I'm just reading it that way because I've automatically anime-fied it in my head), not to mention that the pacing is a tad slower than I'd prefer (though it's possible I only thought so because I already knew what happened up to this point).
On the plus side, I like how much closer I feel to the characters through the books. I liked them fine enough in the anime, but if I'm honest, it was the dystopian setup (and, maybe even more than that, the underlying mystery of it all) that drew me in and made me want to see more. But with the books, I feel like I'm getting a better sense of everyone's personalities and, by proxy, their decision-making. Nezumi is mean, sarcastic and honestly a bit of a self-centred drama-king, but I think I understand a little better now why he's like this. Shion in particular gets more fleshing out through the books, and while I still think he's hopelessly naïve, I'm getting a better sense of his inherent kindness and surprising depth of determination. Inukashi too, gets a bit more dimension in the books, and while it's still early days, I'm starting to suspect he might become my favourite.
I'm still onboard for this story - I want to know what's really going on, and I can't wait to see how it all ends!

Nezumi's admission of attachment at the end was great 💞💞💞 I admit I thoroughly enjoy the combination of third person POV narration and first POV within the story. It might be an odd choice, but it's one that works really well indeed.
Now, for all the praise I have, there's something I have to complain about:
I absolutely detest Safu's role within the story. She was done dirty by the author, I don't like that she has decided to just run after Shion and somehow hope that he'll return her feelings eventually? Or that the unrequited nature of them is due to immaturity and not just the fact that Shion doesn't feel the same because he's already in love with someone else? I don't like it at all.
I wasn't expecting much about this character to begin with, but her apparition at the end of the volume completely soured it for me. It went from a solid 4.25 to a definite 3 stars and I just hope I don't have to rate the entire work like this because I adore both Nezumi and Shion so much.
I might need to take a long break before I continue with volume 3 which is a pity. I'll let the annoyance recede a little before continuing.

La storia prosegue e in questo volume vediamo Shion e Nezumi scontrarsi sui propri modi di vivere e sui propri modi di pensare. Da una parte abbiamo Shion, cresciuto all'interno di una campana di vetro apparentemente perfetta e ignaro di cosa significhi esseri poveri e costantemente in pericoli. Dall'altra parte abbiamo Nezumi, diffidente nei confronti di tutti e infastidito dalla purezza e dall'ottimismo di Shion che all'interno del contest del West Block è decisamente fuori luogo.
Di questo volume ho apprezzato moltissimo i dialoghi fra i due protagonisti, i loro confronti e scontri, che sono di stimolo l'uno per l'altro e anche l'approccio di Shion a questa nuova realtà.
Qui ci sono alcune scene che non sono presenti all'interno dell'anime (molto carine) e oltre a questo viene dato più spazio ai personaggi secondari, sopratutto quello di Karan (la madre di Shion) che è alle prese con tantissime preoccupazioni per la sorte del proprio figlio.
Di questo volume ho apprezzato moltissimo i dialoghi fra i due protagonisti, i loro confronti e scontri, che sono di stimolo l'uno per l'altro e anche l'approccio di Shion a questa nuova realtà.

E quando pensei que não poderia ficar melhor...
O segundo volume dessa saga conseguiu me surpreender em varios aspectos:
Primeiro, na relação entre os dois personagens que é cheia de altos e baixos, afinal sao dois garotos de mundos completamente diferentes, é mais que lógico que a relação deles teria muitos atritos, entretanto a maneira como eles vão aos poucos se entendendo, ou melhor, tentando se entender foi o que me deixou realmente encantada.
Segundo, a forma como a narrativa vai se desdobrando, deixando nos leitores cada vez mais sedentos pela resolução do misterio por tras dos acontecimentos no primeiro livro.
Dito isso, estou ansiosa pra ver como a historia se desdobrará no decorrer dos proximos volumes
