Webster's Dictionary defines evolution as "an unfolding; process of development or change. This book is no different. This book tells the story of change uniquely set to the tone of poetry and journal entries. Throughout the pages of this book Demetrice Prince intensely describes the beauty of life as seen through his eyes and lived through his experiences.
I was born and raised in Patterson, LA, but I now live in Columbus, OH. I found my love for writing in middle school, but I didnt really persue it until high school.I've written in just about every genre of writing, but I finally found a home with poetry. There's just something about poetry that draws me near and keeps me close and coming back for more. I've written one book of poetry entitled, "The Evolution Will Not Be Televised." which was published in early 2011. I am currently working on a new book of poetry tentively entitled "Pen2Paper"
The title alone suggests that the book will take you on a mental ride, following the authors journal from where he first started, to where he was at when the book was completed. I read this book in a day, but the message, the stories, and truth of the book left me with thoughts that will last for a very long time. Men usually have a problem expressing themselves when it comes to emotions and frustrations but after reading this book, I can easily tell that Mr. Prince doesn’t fall into that category. From the detailed description of the pain and emotion behind the words, I know Mr. Prince doesn’t have a problem with expressing himself, at least not when he has a pen in his grasp. A few of my favorite pieces are I Can (Pre-relationship Promises) and I Could’ve (Post Relationship Requiem). The Evolution Will Not Be Televised is a must read for any lover of poetry or anyone who loves the written word.
