And what a gift!!!! This is a quick,as in fifteen minute quick, read. A very steamy read,it was written well and does the job I believe it aims to do :)

HEY! This blog went global! And yeah I’m gonna write this post in English, you’ll know why in a couple of seconds.
Yeah apparently the author of a small bad porn short story didn’t like that my review of the book on goodreads was nothing more than a link for a post about it on this blog. Then the author was kind of upset (I think) that the entire post was in Spanish! Can you imagine that? Now I write in Spanish and had no idea.
Oh well… so this is a small review of the book:

I’ve read short stories with 300 words that had more story than this few pages. Why I read this? It was for free on amazon kindle store, I needed something small to read because I had just finished a huge book and wasn’t ready to start another, so why not read read free porn? Good thing about this few pages is that I hadn’t to pay for them and I found an author that I’m not going to read.
Ok you know when you write something and then you look at it and think “damn this is awfull” the difference is that she actually “published” it on amazon kindle store. Just because everyone is giving her good “reviews” (actually lot’s of stars on goodreads) it means the story is good.

What can you say about a book where your significant other wants to surprise you with a ménage on your first anniversary. Maurina is used to being in control out in the work world but she wants someone else to control her and tell her what to do behind closed doors and that is exactly what Owin does.
Now Owin is a Dominant and knows what Maurina wants including her secret fantasy for a threesome. Now Owin doesn't share but for this one time he is willing in order to engage in her fantasy and to prove how much he loves her. The only stipulation is she is to be blindfolded so she doesn't see who is joining them. I enjoyed this book and like the fact the fact that they were quite commitment to each other.
This was a very quick read and does the job if you are looking for some erotic play.

This is not my typical read. I am not a fan of erotic books. This was a free book and I didn't know what type of book it was till the first sentence. This is a very short, but steamy story. Gillian Colbert is very descriptive of the scene, leaving the reader with no question of what is going on.
The interesting thing is that the male character "Owin" is very possessive, yet he is willing to bring in another guy to share his girl with just because it's their one year anniversary and he knows she would like it. No, that is not what a possessive guy would do. They are too self involved to even notice what their partner would or would not like. So this guy Owin really loves his girl Maurina that he would notice something she only thought she might like to try.
Anyhow, I think this was just to get you to read Gillian's preview for her book Coming Out Of Her Shell. And actually, after reading the first two very descriptive and captivating chapters, I want to know if Susan goes to Eric's house Thursday at 2pm. Gillian gets you into the characters by adding cute personal details. So even though this is not my typical genre, I am dying to know what happens between Susan and Eric. I give the first two chapters five stars!

Gillian Colbert, His Gift (Smashwords, 2011)
NOTE: SPOILER territory ahead (not with details but with the direction of the piece, but still).
A D&S short, so not normally my thing, but it does play up the love angle rather than going for the cheap “do this or suffer the consequences, bitch” angle one normally finds in one-handed fiction, so I definitely give Colbert points for that (and also for not answering the central question posed here—that must have been hard to resist, but not doing so is the right choice). It's a kind of cuddly feel-good D&S short, if that makes any sense, so I'm still kind of trying to wrap my head around it, but it's well written and certainly brings the erotica factor. Not bad, not bad at all. ** ½

I'm no erotica fan. But having given the genre a thorough test drive over the past couple of years, I felt compelled to re-rate this book. His Gift is light-years beyond most of the other erotica books I've read. Without question, it's definitely well-written. The fact I had to go take a cold shower after reading it speaks volumes to the author's talent. If I was a fan of erotic literature, this one would probably get a five star for effectively turning up the temperature in the room. If you're looking for erotica that's written by a master, look no further than the books written by Ms. Colbert.

A quick,free read at Smashwords. I would have loved to have read more of these characters and to really have gotten into the mind of Owin. I am not sure how he had the heart to share and it is something I will never be able to do.
It was a story of loving someone enough, to offer what he thought would make her happy. Not because she expressed that she yearned for it, but because he was willing to unselfishly give her untold fantasies a reality.
Nicely done and instead of this being a wham-bam thank you mam, there was more emotion involved than I anticipated. It was a welcome twist.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Its a quick read. The sex scenes are extremely hot and steamy! My one problem is no talk of a safe word. Since this was something new to her, it would've been appropriate to go over the use of one if needed. Although Owin was certain of her wanting his surprise, it could've gone way bad if a trigger was set. Maybe the author felt that Owin knew her "that well" after a year of being together is acceptable, but I was not able to get that feeling in such few words. All n all it still was a good read!

A slight back-story, but this is really just a scene, in a hotelroom where a Dom hooks his sub up with a stranger for a threesome.
Not having any connection with the characters makes it nothing more than an OK read. Not really sexy, but not awful either. Takes all of five minutes to read.

This is a short story. It is hot, and a well written story, but it only wets the appetite for something longer. I think I have now read this story a few times, as I still have it set as TBR...so now, I finally will move it to Read.

I surprisingly enjoyed this free short story and I wish I was Maurina. I am just kidding. It was written very well and had me hooked since the beginning. The words pulled you into the story making you feel like you were on the bed right beside them as it all unfolded.
Maurina is a strong dependent woman who was just not getting enough out of the dating world. All the men she dated all asked her what to do in bed and if it was alright to do it. She had enough of being asked until one day she meets a man named Owin at a party and he orders her to meet him later on. She was taken aback by his abruptness but also turned on. She had never been told to do anything in her life so she went along with it. After realizing how amazing Owin was in the bed, she stayed with him. They were dating for over a year when on their anniversary he left her specific notes where to be and what to wear – a hotel room and nothing but a silk black blindfold. Dayum. But to her surprise, when Owin showed up, he wasn’t alone. So exciting!
I don’t want to ruin any of the juicy details, but I would definitely recommend this story to someone who is into VERY soft Dominant material.

This was definitely on the short end, but I thought the author did a good job of filling in enough background on Owin and Maurina's relationship. The idea of a lover willing to give you everything you want without even asking for it is sexy. I think I'd be a little freaked out that I had *no idea* who the third was, but at the same time, maybe I can understand Owin keeping it a secret. Not that he has anything to worry about in terms of who Maurina wants to spend her time with, but considering how possessive he was, it had to leave him feeling just a skosh vulnerable to share her with someone. Short, sweet, and sexy.

HOT! Owin and Maurina explore the dom/sub relationship. Maurina is used to calling the shots in and out of bed. Her sex life was something to be desired; that is, until she meets Owin. She thought he was a geek and the moment she meets him and he speaks she was whipped (no pun intended). I would have liked it to be a longer read; however, I am glad that their dom/sum relationship was not elaborated. The menage trois scene was hot. I would have like to know who the He was. Maybe He can have his own novella. Maybe He will show up in a bridal shower. Nonetheless, it was a HOT read.

Wow! This was a short, very steamy and yes, sweet story of a girl who gets her guy along with everything else she wants in love. Owin is that Alpha male you dream of, able to command with a word making his girl want to obey. But, in doing so he also gives her everything she wants and needs, including love and a snuggle.
This was my first (freebie) read of Ms. Colbert and I look forward to reading more of her stuff.

This short novella (32 pages) is all about Maurina getting a ‘special’ gift from her Master, Owin, to celebrate their one year anniversary. Owin knows what Maurina needs and he lets her experience being with two men at once. This is a very hottt read and my only complaint was that I wish we could have ‘seen’ more!

Went to read this book last night and realized I'd already read it. So my review won't be too descriptive - sorry. I do remember liking the plot, but I think shorts just aren't for me. I don't get to know the characters well enough. I don't get sucked in - I think I need to relate to the characters to really get into a story. I think overall the story was fine, I just wished it was a whole novel.

The book was not terrible but it would have been a much better novella with more information — character and personality descriptions would have been helpful. It's like the story just started in the middle which is the thing I dislike most about very short novellas.

Maurina gets owned hot little body and soul by her dominant lover, Owin, and for tonight, Owin's in a mood to share her. I really, really liked this story. It's well-written and the sex was hot, hot, hot! You also get a 2 chapter preview of the next story by this author, which I will probably download as well.
