School teacher Lynnie has only one reason for attending the Valentine ball at the state capital and it's not romance. She finds her escort, roguish Ace Durango, is nothing but an irritation - even if his good looks and charm are suddenly hard to ignore.

A historical Western romance that takes place in 1885. The main characters are School teacher Lynnie McBride and Ace Durango the local woman charmer and playboy. She is an active women's rights advocate. He thinks a woman's place is in the home, just not his home. In the course of the story, they will be together on a cattle drive. There is a lot of action throughout the story. A good read with a lot of truthful facts about real cattle drives thrown in.
I love this one! Perhaps because it reminds me of my husband and I. Plus, this one has an epilogue, the one thing missing in all prior books in the series.
What happens when you take a Texan, handsome and sure that he is the answer to all womens prayers. Mix that with a free and easy young lady that firmly beleves the women should have the right to vote and you have a comedy. This is just what I needed to read right now. She follows him on the cattle drive across the country disguised as a man. You can just imagine the things that happens. I enjoyed this book with many laughs
This book was about Lynne McBride. Cayanne little sister. She was fighting for Womens right to vote. She wanted to get to Dodge City, KS She went a what was probably the last cattle drive of the Durango family. Ace and Lynne are so alike that they eventually get married and have 6 daughters. Well you would have to read it to find out what else happened in the book.
I did not want to rate this book as "did not like" because it was readable. I wish there was a star grade between "did not like" and "it was ok" ... perhaps "ho-hum, typical"! Would not recommend because it was just this side of boring.
great book .... But Ace should of had a boy like him ..... Need more on the Durangos and Iron Knife and summer sky .... I still cant believe they got killed off.....
