Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, even as a little girl. When I was a toddler, my parents would read stories to me over and over. I would hear them so often that I had the books memorized and could recite the story word by word.
My favorite genres are fantasy, paranormal, and contemporary romance. So of course that's what I'm inclined to write.
I have a husband, two young daughters, and a mini Australian Shepherd. I've lived in Tennessee the majority of my life and love the state.

Picking up where we left off.....the journey get all the more intriguing. Emma and her entourage have begun there next phase of the journey which is finding/saving the other marked hybrids. Grey does an impressive job of adding in new characters with a diversity of issues and traits. Some you love and some you kinda like ..... maybe. Giving a great mix to the group.
We see Emma and Aidan continue to bond and grow in their relationship and as they pick up other hybrids a trend starts to show. A very interesting and welcomed one with just enough mystery. You know this is leading somewhere and you just keep reading to see where Grey is taking you.
For me this is an unique world with a unique storyline and a great selection of characters. Can not wait to start book 3!
Wha...? I mean I should've seen that ending coming but... holy wow!! This second edition takes off running and barely slows to catch a breath. It's nonstop action and evasion. I loved every second!
Emma and her crew are racing the clock, ragging packs and surly attitudes. Nothing goes easily for them and rescuing each girl amps up the danger. Emma is growing into her role as a leader and doing her best to think ahead and plan correctly. She's keeping the peace and kicking butt at the same time. It's pretty spectacular.
Adian is growing tremendously! In attitude and manner, he's becoming the alpha of the gang and leading beside Emma. I love that he's treating her an an equal even though it frightens him.
I can wait to see what happens next! Jen L. Grey knows how to enthrall and entertain.
The hunt is on to find the girls before the Guild does but they are being hunted already. Fate has a strange way of getting in the way and as lives hang in the balance, time is running out. Emma has come along way and her strength and leadership is starting to come through to the team of witches and wolves. They have a long way to go if they are going to survive and unite their people. Not everyone is on their side and Emma will have to take a stand if she hopes to win the war. Fated mates aside, they all need to come together to overcome centuries of hate between the wolves and the witches. I am looking forward to reading the next book as the author has just the right amount of romance, action and adventure in this series.
Don’t know how finished this one. But I did. I read it really quick and than boom, done. Still surprises me but at least I managed to get through it.
Basically, Emma and her friends try to find the missing girls on the prophecy so they can bring peace among wolf shifters and witches.
And that’s most of the plot for this book.
It wasn’t action packed or emotional like the first, but I will give it some leeway. Granted, it’s still pretty entertaining, but didn’t manage to book me like the first book.
I love this series! And I’m so glad the author kept it as Emma’s POV instead of jumping around too much, obviously we needed some of Aidens POV cause who knows what the guy is thinking on a regular basis?
What a cliffhanger and I did not see that twist coming at all! Love the way the story developed and was moving at a fast pace. Must get to book 3 to see how it all plays out.
5 Stars for great storytelling and clean sexual content. Clean, language and the only problem is it leaves you hanging. Now you wait for book 3 to be published.
Wonder how the curse will be broken and the Hallowed Guild will be taken down? It’s interesting who the mates are to the chosen girls! Can’t wait for book 3 ... hurry.... hurry..... hurry!!!
I wasn’t so sure about the first book, but this one hooked me. I loved the action and the little twists that keep the reader interested. I read this whole thing in a day and I don’t regret a second of it. Moving on to the next book!
This book is literally a trip around the US. Emma & Aiden need to find 4 more girls that are marked. With a few changes of clothes and a map they head out hoping to find them. As they go each encounter gets more dangerous! There is lots of fighting. Mates are found too.
Chosen Wolf is the second book in the Marked Wolf series and it was great. Emma now knows her heritage and is on a mission to find the other marked girls who are destined to unite the wolves and the witches before the Hallowed Guild can find and kill them. The journey is not easy but when fate wants something magic has its way.
Emma is changing, before she was complacent willing to go with whatever happened to make sure the people around her are happy but after learning of her history, of the prophecy, and the current danger she's in, Emma is growing stronger, more confident, and is taking charge. She is becoming the leader she is meant to be, by following her instincts and being a kind and compassionate person. I can easily see Emma growing into the leader that the supernaturals need with Aiden by her side. Aiden has come a long way from the hateful jerk he was. slowly but surely Aiden is overcoming his past prejudices and he is learning to put his faith in Emma, that she can protect herself and see her as an equal. While their relationship still needs some work that has grown so much together.
The bonds between Emma, Aiden, and the rest of their group has grown even stronger, as they search for the other girls they run into obstacles as well as normal everyday problems, and those experiences have them getting to know each other better, giving them an opportunity to stand-up and to protect each other, insuring their bonds growing stronger. I love the camaraderie that they all share during the adventure, all the little normal things, arguing, laughing, figuring out the next step, it was an aspect of the story that I really enjoyed. The only thing I can complain about is I wish there was more magic, witches are also in the center of the story but I didn't get that witchy vibe that I was looking for.
I really enjoyed the story, the five girls to change the supernatural world all coming together to find each other to fulfill a prophecy that a guild full of hateful men see as a curse and is determined to stop at all costs. Everything is a result of things that accumulated in the past that has yet to be resolved. Everyone is stuck in the past, everywhere Emma goes she is met with prejudices, mistrust, and hate, everyone is trapped in a circle. I loved the excitement of getting the girls but now I'm wondering what's next. Especially after the plot twist at the end, my jaw dropped. I knew things were bad but wow I didn't expect that and now I'm dying to see how that concludes.
Chosen Wolf was a turning point for Emma she could either comply or grow into who she was meant to be. The guild is out for blood and the girls are out to fulfill the prophecy and join the witches and wolves together in peace. Now that the girls have been united I wonder what's next for Emma and the girls, how will they fulfill the prophecy? I guess I'll get my answers in the final book, Broken Curse.
In this second book of the paranormal fated mate romance series, Emma and Aidan solidified their bond and, by doing so, unleashed a curse or prophecy. Depending on whose side you stand. Emma is a hybrid shifter witch with a secret society of wolves hunting her because she’s the marked one and will bring about their demise, so they want to kill her before the curse is complete; however, for the witches, she’s the girl from the prophecy that will form a council of women to lead and unite the supernatural world, bring peace between witches and shifters.
Grey’s voice and vibe remain very YA. Her style of alternating points of view without altering her tone from one voice to the next still makes it difficult to connect to the characters, which turns this into a dull read. A lot of new characters are introduced via the points of view of Emma and Aiden, but they’re so unlikable that it’s hard to feel bad when they find themselves in danger, which happens a lot.
In this storyline, Grey broaches heavy subjects like sexism, prejudice, and racism. Emma must find the other ‘marked’ girls before the secret society of wolves does; otherwise, the prophecy for peace will never be fulfilled. It’s a race between the good and bad guys, showcasing Grey's younger voice, and would most likely appeal to teens and young adult readers.
During this harrowing race Emma must discover how to tap into her magic and be the alpha she’s destined to become to keep herself and her group of friends safe. The storyline moves fast, with too many things happening, and Grey’s disjointed writing style creates a disconnect between the reader and the story.
The storyline’s potential is still great; it’s just hard to overlook the dullness of the voice, unlikable characters, uneven flow, and another cliffhanger ending. It's a 2-star read. At this point, it’s unsure if the next book in the series, Broken Curse: The Mark Wolf #3, will include any likable characters, a stronger voice to make the story come to life, and a better flow to avoid that disconnecting feeling.
4.5 stars! Book two, and we’re getting into the meat of the story now. Emma has come into her magic, Aiden is by her side as her mate, and now they need to find the rest of the girls who will help bring the prophecy to fruition. They’re in search of four girls, and as they find each, they are confronted with unique and varied challenges each time. At the same time, there are some interesting commonalities that vein through each of their stories as well. Not everyone is gung ho to jump on the prophecy bandwagon, and some take more persuading than others. But as all their stories come together, it feels like you can really start to see the bigger picture coming into clearer view. I definitely feel that the “found family” is getting stronger and stronger. Not only with the core group, which is fantastic, but with some of the new additions as well. It seems this is going to become a crucial aspect in book three. Their journey in this book was fast paced, action packed, and kept me riveted.
On a side note, Emma and Aiden are like freaking rabbits. Any time they get alone time, they are all over each other. And no, I’m not complaining, I actually very much enjoyed that aspect of their story. Their relationship is new, and this really helps show that can’t keep our hands off each other, never want to be apart from you, would do anything to protect you vibe. And I love that it goes both ways. They protect each other, and while Aidan has to get over his alpha male tendencies and let Emma be and do what she is meant to, when he does, it’s really great, and it really strengthens their connection. They have great chemistry, and they take advantage of it, often.
The set up for book 3 is pretty great. The build during this book was steady and yet fast paced, and we got some good character development as well. It’s going to be very interesting to see how everything plays out.
Booktitle: Chosen Wolf (The Marked Wolf #2) Author: Jen L. Grey Publicist: Grey Valor Publishing, LLC Kindle Edition Pages: 244 Rating: 4.5 Title: Refers to Emma being a Chosen hybrid, trying her best to find the other 4 chosen wolves-witches.
“Fate is one manipulative bitch. Remind me never to get on her wrong side.” - Beth -
Chosen Wolf is the sequel to Moon Kissed. The majority of this book consists of Emma, Aiden, Beth, and the rest of the gang, looking for-, and finding the chosen girls. They all start out at the witch’s coven of her friends, scanning through old books to know where to start. After figuring out how to find the others, they hit the road. They try to find, take and protect the chosen ones against The Hallowed Guild; a ‘secret’ society of wolves who do not believe in the prophecy. It seems to get trickier with every girl they locate…
Again; just like in the first book; I could not put it down. I liked it just as much as the first one and it did not disappoint. The characters are mostly the same, but this book adds new characters with each girl Emma finds. The new personae all add something to the story in my opinion and they are very diverse.
When Emma tried to get the second girl to come along, I had a deja-vu to the first girl and I hoped it would not stay that way. Luckily it didn’t! Chosen Wolf has some plot-twists which I truly like. Most of these really push me to read on because I NEED ANSWERS...! So, I’ll start reading book 3 now.

The characters are original, tangible and authentic with just enough flaws to add a little spice to the mix. Their personalities are genuine with qualities and traits that balances out perfectly. The scenes are so detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you're right there in the middle of ground zero with them, feeling everything they feel. Fabulous job Jen, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
They are dead and upon her shoulders lays guilt with a heavy hand, but time is short and her path dangerous.
There is no time to dwell on the lost.
For the future of both the wolves and the witches is in her hands...
This is the second book in the marked wolf trilogy following on from "Moon kissed" where we met Emma and Aiden and found out that destiny had a hand in both their shared past and the future they were about to embark upon.
Now the story continues with an epic hunt for the marked girls.
I must admit as much as it was exciting, I was a little dissapointed in the similarities of the girls situations. It felt a little like the author was running low on ideas at one point. But I soldiered on and had hope that the story would improve again, and thankfully it did.
The new characters are quirky and unique. I chuckled as the personalities clashed. The bickering and sniping, along with snoring and fart issues had me grinning freely.
I love Emma. She might think she's lacking in leadership skills but I certainly don't. Her passion and drive are secondary to none.
Overall the story was very good, just the middle section let it down a little, thus I'm giving this four stars and not five.
Emma, Aiden, and the rest are on the hunt for other girls in the prophecy. As they travel who or what will they encounter along the way? This is no easy task and the further the to the more danger they are in. Will they be able to find them all or will the hallowed guild be able to destroy them all? OMG!!!!!! Was I pulled right in. From beginning to end this book had my head spinning and laughing out loud, but thru it all they never wanted to give up. This jaw dropping read will give you everything and so much more with and ending that will completely and udderly blow you mind. Each twist gives you a little more and when it's said and done you won't be able to wait for the next. This author took me on a read that didn't disappoint and left me flabbergasted. I so can't wait for the next.
This book starts exactly where the first book left off. Emma and Aiden have solidified their bond, causing an earthquake after fighting a wolf attack on the coven they are staying with. Now they must go find the others like Emma.
Things heat up quickly in this, the coven flees to a safer location, and Aiden denounces his pack. Now they are on the run and hiding while Emma figures out her next move.
Things get crazy for them as they go on an adventure and run into more people like themselves. It is funny how the new couple is like them but doesn’t even realize it yet. This book so all about finding the other girls that help complete the prophecy. They have some exciting adventures while doing it and even run into some unexpected trouble. Once they get back, things get twisted omg I can’t believe it ended like that.
I actually enjoyed the adventure in this book. I noticed the author didn’t spend much time getting to know the other girls in the prophecy. Still, it did meet the resolution the book started with needing to find the other girls. This story was action-packed with little break between the scenes. It also got super steamy, so definitely for a mature audience. I’m excited to see what happens next with the last book in this trilogy. I do kinda wish we had more info on the other girls. It would be nice to know more about them and, in some cases, their mates.
Chosen Wolf is the second book in the The Marked Wolf series. It is important to read this series in order because where one book ends the next book begins.
Emma and Aiden have completed the mate bonding which causes one event after another to unfold. Emma and Aiden together with their friends have a mission to complete in order to bring the wolves and witches back in harmony. That journey includes secrets being revealed, truth coming to light, chemistry, banter, and laugh out loud moments. Read to find out how their road trip takes on new friends, uncovers lies, and brings them one step closer to breaking the curse.
I think I was holding my breath in the entire book!! The second installment was a nail biter. Fast paced, lots of action, and plot twist. That ending was incredible and I can’t wait to get to the third book. I really enjoyed how both Aiden and Emma’s relationship has strengthened and how Emma has stepped into the leading role. The journey of finding the four girls was action packed and I’m curious about these new players as well. The narrator, Felicity Munroe was fabulous and she truly had me glued to the story listening. The emotions and frustrations of the characters were spot on. I highly recommend the audiobook.
Road Trip!!!! Things are really heating up and they have to find the other girls who represent the marking. As they travel, they find each of the girls with their mates in tow but that is an unknown factor to them. Some not even realizing that they are mates until they meet face to face, they just feel an urge to be where the other is. There is one fellow that can’t go with his mate at the time so I am hoping we will see him in the next book. There is also a betrayal that was unexpected and very hurtful to Emma. I can’t wait for the next book!
Once the mate bond is solidified, the girls continue the hunt for those who will help them change their world, to give them hope for a future where war is not around the corner in each moment of every day.
I always fall for the characters in this author's stories. Her secondary characters are sassy, and it makes me want to get to know them as well. As they continue their search for the rest of the group who will bring about the prophecy, the relationships between the group become so much more substantial, and it leaves me wishing I knew these people. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
This was a tough read to get through. Not only did it feel drawn out, but the plot was predictable and the anticlimactic. There are so many characters in this story that it’s hard to keep up, over ten new characters introduced in this story alone, and because they are introduced so rapidly, it’s hard to get to know any of them. The main character is a bit of a pain and treats her mate and friends poorly. Being that her mate was once in line to be alpha, but is so submissive towards her (even if she has powers) is a bit of a turn off. This just wasn’t my cup of tea.
In this second book of the Marked Wolf series, Emma has triggered the curse. Now she, Aiden, and their friends must find the others that bear the mark Emma was born with. Together, they can bring peace between the packs and the covens. So Emma and her friends journey to find the other four girls. Each stop brings more danger and more intrigue. The Hallowed Guild is on their tail and they may or may not be creating a little chaos on the way. But they've come this far. They can't break now. They need break this curse for good. No one can simply walk away. Emma is continuing to get stronger and become a better leader. Each step of the way she gains more confidence as she finds herself. We meet some interesting new characters as well! And with the cliffhanger at the end, everything is about to change. So what will Emma and Aiden and the rest of them do? How will the curse break? I can't wait to find out!
I love the take on witches and wolf shifters in this series, and I love how it portrays the strength and resilience of women. Emma is coming into her own, and Aiden is recognizing her as not just his mate, but also his equal. There's suspense, action, love, and empowerment in this story along with a cliffhanger you don't see coming. I'm really looking forward to the next book in this series! I received this as an Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for an honest review. This review is in my own words and of my own volition.
Emma is truly coming around from the soft spoken person she had grown up to be once she lost Aidan. She starts to become the strong leader she is learning to be as she tracks down the remaining marked girls and her bond with Aidan grows. It's a nonstop trek and each trip seems more dangerous than the last. Will they be able to fulfill the prophecy before their time runs out? Broken Curse, book 3 and the final in the trilogy should have the answers to that.
Chosen Wolf (The Marked Wolf Series Book 2) by Jen L. Grey is a fantastic story that I have loved reading very much. This is book number two in this fantastic series that I am so hooked on and can not wait to read more. I highly recommend this fantastic story to everyone who loves reading about wolf shifters and paranormal romance.
I read a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy of this book & am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.
Emma and Aidan along with their group continue in their search for the others girls with the mark. It leads them across country picking up girls as well as their mates. Emma really comes into her leadership in this one. Aidan is learning to trust Emma and her decisions/instincts. Someone close to her betrays her to someone from her past. Steady paced. Some questions still left unanswered plus ended on a cliffhanger.
