Fun little ride

Good little book, fun take on angels and such.
Several spelling errors, but other than that pretty good. Could be a tad more descriptive. But all around a good quick read

It's not often you encounter a novel where one of the first things you learn is how awkward it can be to relieve oneself whilst flying long distances. That alone made this fairly unusual. This was an entertaining and fairly light read, with some touches of humour and a goodly amount of action. Sebastian, the narrator, is one of three teenage Nephilim. He, along with Catherine and Patrick, live in the catacombs below a church in Venice with Tobias, a priest. Tobias is a member of the Order, the part of the Church who know about the presence of the Fallen—AKA the Gregori—on earth and who work to protect humanity. The three Nephilim help Tobias to keep an eye on Venice in particular and Italy in general, but they are confronted by the evil Belial when they go the help a little girl in trouble, and their whole world is turned upside down.

The story includes a certain amount of religious content, but is written without being preachy, and the characters are well developed with strong motives and personalities. The plot travels along adventure/quest lines and includes a good mixture of action and discovery. Sebastian's narrative is conversational and enjoyable to read, and the story wraps up quite nicely, though with a couple of hooks in place for a sequel.

I'm not sure if this is was a children's or young adult book. In some places it was very simplistic and the actual story itself was basic but it did deal a little with bigger issues.
There were quite a few annoying typos.
There were also bits of explanations that were repeated unnecessarily and the fore-warning was a bit blatant in places. I probably wouldn't read another book by this author.

Overall I enjoyed the book. I picked it up free on Amazon. It was engaging and I genuinely wanted to know what happened. I teach 9th grade English and I could see some of my students enjoying this book.

I really enjoyed this book, although it is more of a YA book than anything. I think that because of this a few details were left out, but still a good thriller/mystery/supernatural/fantasy book!
