Okay, when you are first dx with MS there is a fight or flight reflex. I read everything. If you want to change your diet there are two ways and I've tried them both. SWANK WORKS. End of story. Dr Swank first gives you the background - how he came up with the low saturated fat diet. He brings you on his journey. Then he shows you the science. So even if it seems hard - he has proven it is worth it. THIS BOOK SAVED MY LIFE. Only my family and I know how bad things were getting before I read this book. Now, well, I've been following Swank for two years and have never been healthier. If you have any neurological disease give it a go. The worse side effect is losing weight. The best is regaining your life.

This is the first book everyone who gets MS should read. This is a proven 60-year diet that halts progression in 95% of MS patients and offers the most diet-friendly lifestyle for MS patients. I personally would not be doing as well as I am doing after 22 years of MS if it weren't for implementing this diet. I cannot recommend this book highly enough!

After seeing numerous neurologists, I was given the diagnosis of MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS. I was given medication, which helped, but my condition was rapidly deteriorating. Ultimately, I learned about the useful MS-4 protocol at vinehealthcentre. com. This treatment has helped greatly with reducing my symptoms, it was even more effective than the prescription drugs I was using. My tremors mysteriously disappeared after the first month of medication, and I was able to walk better. Within 4 months on this treatment most of my symptoms has vanished. The MS-4 protocol is a total game changer for me. I’m surprised more people with MS don’t know it. This MS-4 protocol is a breakthrough

I liked this book but I wish there was more to the science behind it and not just the diet outline. A far better book in my opinion is The McDougall Diet for Maximum Weight Loss. Although that on focuses on weight and not MS, the principles behind it are the same: dietary fat creates problems that go far beyond weight. McDougall has links to Swank's work on his website and a video of the late doctor talking about his research.

Overall, this is a good plan for someone who feels they cannot give up animal products altogether but wishes to limit their fat intake.
