This is the second book I've read from Olly Richards and it has almost the same issues. The stories were short so which isn't a bad thing as without question, every single one was forgettable. Normally this wouldn't really be an issue but one of the suppositions of these books by the author is that you should enjoy reading to facilitate learning. I also doesn't help when you are encouraged to read the book multiple times. That is a hard ask when I didn't enjoy the stories the first time.

The drive to learn your target language is ultimately the main motivation. This will determine whether or not you'll be back for another read, not the entertainment of these thinly plotted stories with little or no satisfying endings.

One huge issue I had with my first book (highlighting the speaker in bold) was thankfully missing from this title. I don't know when or if I will read this again.
