A visit to Osaka, Heiji-centred chapters, and half a panel with Shin'ichi. What else could we ask for?

This book contains four stories. The first is a very good locked room mystery. The second story did not impress me. The third story is a very exciting story with a serial killer element. The fourth story is for people who likes soccer. But the story ends with a reference which I do not understand. Perhaps I will have to read the story again.

Ich mochte den Fall mit Heiji und seiner Jugendfreundin sehr (ich vergesse ihren Namen dauernd, I'm sorry). Auch der letzte Fall war sehr spannend, also muss ich Band 20 wohl bald mal beginnen.

Continuing on from the previous volume, we continue into the story of the added character Heiji, finding out she's also taken the 'child' formula of death. The two of them and Dr Agasa work to track down a floppy disk that potentially contains the cure to their condition, but find the university professor who kept the disk has been murdered. What is left to be solved is a locked-room murder and stolen disk!
There is also more murder mysteries located in Osaka, including a soccer match as well as further character development for the new member of the Detective Boys. Adding a character who understands Conan's plight is certainly a well-needed aspect which was previously missing to the plotline!

este es el último capítulo que leeré del manga, a partir de aquí continuaré con el anime (aunque sea un poco difícil porque los capítulos están desordenados)
los capítulos de hattori llevando a conan, ran y kogoro a osaka fueron increíbles!! me reí y me sorprendí mucho cuando se dio a conocer al asesino.
AMO las interacciones entre heiji y kazuha, y el dúo de heiji y conan they are so silly!!
sin duda fue una gran experiencia, gracias gosho aoyama por tanto <3

Endlich geht es mal zu Heiji nach Osaka, aber zuvor muss Conan erst einmal den Mord am Professor klären und die Datei mit den Daten zu dem Gift sichern. Zudem wartet noch ein Entführungsfall auf ihn, der ganz komische Ausmaße annimmt. Aber dann geht es endlich nach Osaka in den Urlaub. Aber wer Conan und Kogoro kennt, der weiß, dass sie keinen normalen Urlaub machen können, ohne, dass sie in etwas verwickelt werden und in Osaka ist zurzeit eine Mordserie ! Und zum Schluss dürfen die Detektiv Boys wieder ran....bei einem Fußballspiel geht es um Leben und Tod !

Das ist der neunzehnte Band der Manga-Reihe "Detektiv Conan" und auch, wenn die Fälle in sich abgeschlossen sind, sollte man der Reihe nach lesen, da die Grundgeschichte immer wieder fortgesetzt wird. Es ist als Taschenbuch, sowie e-book erhältlich. Ein Fall wird zuende erzählt und ein weiterer geteilt. Zudem kommt noch ein abgeschlossene Fälle vor.
Meine Meinung:
Die Männer in Schwarz, ein Besuch in Osaka, eine Entführung und die Detective Boys....der 19. Band steckte voller Überraschungen und Charaktere, die ich so liebe. Zwar konnte mich nicht jeder Fall restlos begeistern, aber die Mischung gefiel mir sehr gut und Heiji ist wieder ein kleines Highlight für mich und sorgte für einige Lacher. Es wurde tragisch, traurig, aber auch spannend und hatte wieder diesen tollen Humor, den ich so sehr an dieser Reihe schätze.
Zuerst wird der Fall aus dem vorherigen Band zuende erzählt und man erfährt, wer den Professor ermordet hat. Waren es die Männer in Schwarz oder doch einer seiner Besucher und wer hat die Diskette mit der Formel ?! Es war auch als Manga wieder sehr spannend, wobei ich persönlich das Tatmotiv etwas lächerlich fand, auch wenn es im Affekt geschah, aber nun gut, manche haben für weniger gemordet. Das Ende deprimierte Conan natürlich und er tat mir etwas Leid.
Im zweiten Fall bittet Kaori, die Tochter eines bekannten Schriftstellers, Kogoro um seine Hilfe. Seit einiger Zeit sind ihre Eltern verschwunden und die Polizei hilft ihr nicht, weil es keine Hinweise auf eine Entführung gibt. Aber Conan durchschaut natürlich wieder alles und mit Heijis Hilfe nimmt der Fall Ausmaße an, die beide nicht erwartet hätten. Zwar zog es sich leicht, aber mir gefiel dieser Fall echt gut, zumal ich die Wendugen und das Ende super fand. Heiji war ein absolutes Highlight und seine Gesichtsentgleisungen der absolute Brüller....der arme Megure.
Im dritten Fall machen Conan, Ran und Kogoro in Osaka Urlaub und besuchen Heiji, der ihnen natürlich zeigen will, dass seine Stadt tausendmal besser ist als Tokio. Aber bei der Stadtrundfahrt lernen sie nicht nur seine beste Freundin Kazuha kennen, deren Kennenlernen zu herrlich ist, sondern bekommen es auch noch mit einer Mordserie zu tun, bei der es sehr gefährlich wird. Der Fall war sehr spannend, wobei ich sagen muss, dass mir der Anime etwas besser gefallen hat. Aber auch hier hatte ich meinen Spaß daran und fand es toll, wie es sich entwickelt hat. Kazuha fand ich klasse und ihre "Beziehung" zu Heiji brachte mich so zum Lachen.
Der letzte Fall wird geteilt und im ersten Teil begeleitet man die Detective Boys bei einem Fußballspiel, das schnell sehr gefährlich wird, vor allem, wenn der Täter sich unter tausenden Fans versteckt. An sich gefiel mir die erste Hälfte ganz gut, aber ich bin einfach kein Fan von den Fällen mit den Detective Boys. Es zog sich trotz der bedrohlichen Situation etwas und war für mich nicht so spanned.
Der Zeichenstil gefiel mir wieder sehr und ich hatte keine Probleme, dem Geschehen zu folgen. Toll war es, wie genau die Mimik der Charaktere dargestellt wurde und man immer ein gutes Gefühl für den Fall hatte.
Fazit:
Eine gute Mischung mit sehr starken und etwas schwächeren Fällen, die mich insgesamt aber super unterhalten konnte. Der Fall in Osaka und der geteilte mit dem Professor fand ich echt klasse, die anderen beiden etwas schwächer. Aber es war schon, mal wieder auf Heiji zu stoßen und mit ihm seine Stadt zu erkunden, auch wenn natürlich wieder etwas passieren musste. Von mir gibt es:

Another great volume. We dive into Ai's past and one of my favorite characters pops up again. Five stars for sure xD
Case 1: Finishing the one from the previous volume.
The connection between Ai and her sister from a previous case was really interesting to see those things intertwine, but also so tragic. Her sobbing was so sad. I wish that feeling lingered, but there was a quick time skip
It was a bit funny to read about floppies though. I'm still early in the series, which was written years ago, so I'm curious to see the technology evolve in the series as it did in real life. (Though then again, this is all supposed to take place during a year? So maybe no tech upgrades? Floppies forever? XD)
Nevertheless, the case took a back seat to the backstory and dive into Ai's character. I loved the depth of her expressions as she observed Jimmy attempting to solve the case, and her hope vanish when she felt it was just an accident.
Case 2: A client arrives late one evening to Richard, begging for help in finding her missing parents. Can Conan solve the puzzle in time before it's too late?
Goodness this was a hard one to keep up with. Not sure how much easier it'd be to read in English, but the solution to the secret code had my head spinning there, haha. But not a bad case! The ending is bittersweet.
Case 3: Richard, Conan, and Rachel are invited to a tour of Osaka with Harley as their personal tour guide. While enjoying the sights and food, a dead body drops onto their car, and gets them wrapped up in a string of past murder cases.
More Harley! <3 And we also get introduced to a new side character. This is a pretty wild case, or rather, set of cases, and seeing Conan and Harley work together to solve them is great! (Conan being free to just be himself, ie Jimmy, is always a welcome experience.) Definitely a great one.
This one was more difficult for me to read in Japanese. There is a LOT of Oosaka-ben, which I've not much practice with, outside of Harley's earlier appearances x'D I opted to not look anything up with this volume, and just understood what I understood and moved on. I did start to pick up patterns through context clues, but it was more tiring to read, it was harder on my brain x'D
Case 4: The Detective Kids are out at a soccer game, joined by Ai, who is less than enthusiastic to be there. Conan tries to get her into the spirit of the game, and just as they all start to enjoy themselves, a bullet is fired and a threat is made. Behind the scenes, the television director filming the match gets a phone call--hand over a lump of cash, or he starts killing people.
I like the set up of this one, and Ai is a welcomed addition to the group of kids. She adds another element and is an interesting character, that I can't wait to see and learn more of. The case is pretty engaging for what it is, but not as exciting as the one prior. I think it would've been a better cliffhanger to flip the last two cases. Either way though, I'm gonna read the next volume, so I suppose it doesn't matter much xD

I've never experienced Detective Conan (or as it's called here in the West) Case Closed, but I picked this volume as it came up in a list of recommendations of locked room mysteries, and I can confirm it contains a particularly ingenious example.
Another strength is the cleverness and conciseness of the writing - mysteries get proposed and solved without much filler (understandably, given the original magazine that published it wouldn't have wanted to give up pages to it that weren't needed) and the art is masterful. The facial expression style was a bit hit and miss for my personal taste, but the anatomy, shading, background, tone etc were all top quality.
Being time poor I was 'hoping' there wouldn't be a lot in the series so I could plausibly set myself of task of getting into it and experiencing the full tale (this volume ends on a cliffhanger) but 'unfortunately' the comic is a massive success and has run for 1000's of issues - a testament to its quality.
Great mysteries, great art (if you're into manga, anyway) and enjoyable characters (though probably targeted more at the younger audience). Solid work!

Seorang anak dari penulis misteri terkenal datang ke kantor detektif Kogoro untuk meminta Kogoro mencari ayah dan ibunya yang hilang. Si ayah yang merupakan penulis misteri tetap mengirimkan berkas misterinya kepada penerbit. Ternyata di dalam berkas tersebut, terdapat kode misterius yang berisi petunjuk tempat dimana si penulis berada.
Di Osaka, sedang ada kasus pembunuhan berantai dimana korbannya ditusuk di dada beserta dompetnya. Conan, Ran, dan Kogoro yang sedang berlibur di Osaka bersama Heiji berusaha memecahkan kasus tersebut. Ran pun sempat dicemburui oleh Kazuha, teman dekat Heiji.
Stasiun TV Nichiuri dipaksa membayar sejumlah uang saat menayangkan pertandingan sepak bola nasional. Conan membantu Inspektur Megure mencari pelakunya dari 56.000 orang yang berada di stadion nasional tersebut

This volume begins with the conclusion of the cliff-hanger of the murder of an individual in a locked room. Lots of fun and to be honest, even after reading it...that would have taken a mastermind to write and execute this crime...but it was good stuff. Next we have a missing persons report of a famous writer who has disappeared for 2 months! It is loads of fun and I figured it out early, but it took nothing away from the exciting thrill ride. The next story has the whole team along with Harley. People are being murdered in record number on this case and the team is running around trying to find the link. The final story is a ransom caper....that takes place in an arena with 56,000 hostages! It's a great way to leave you begging for the next volume...as seems to be the way this series is running. Good stuff from Detective Conan!

Solving the locked room murder from the previous volume, Jimmy gets wrapped up with a missing persons case involving a notable mystery author and his daughter. Harley Hartwell also makes a small appearance in this case which segues into the next case which takes place in his hometown Osaka! Harley shows Conan and the Moore family around the Nation's Kitchen and teams up with Jimmy to find and stop a serial killer. One of my favorite storylines as I really enjoy the banter that occurs when Jimmy and Harley are together. Finally, the volume ends in the middle of a hostage case involving the Junior Detective League.

Not the best, not the worst volume so far. It's the kind of volume that I'll forget the contents of pretty quickly.
The first case with the locked room was kind of weak. Sure, it takes a lot to do the locked room, and that's interesting in and of itself, but the motive is just weak.
I think there's potential in the last case, since it's a ballsy move to take a whole football stadium hostage.

L'affaire du romancier disparu Shinmei Nintaro était vraiment très intéressante avec les codes cachés, même si c'était un peu triste.
Ensuite découverte d'Osaka avec Heiji, qui comme à chaque fois me donne envie d'aller y faire un tour! L'enquête était intéressante aussi, avec une fin sous tension!!
Et le début d'un cas de prise d'otage de tout un stade, les Petits Détectives sont beaucoup plus intéressants depuis qu'ils ont été rejoints par Ai.
Ensuite découverte d'Osaka avec Heiji, qui comme à chaque fois me donne envie d'aller y faire un tour! L'enquête était intéressante aussi, avec une fin sous tension!!

The anime version of this showed up in my Netflix recommendations and after binging every episode they had available, I went looking for more. I discovered the manga and now I'm hooked. Anyone who likes ratiocinative detectives, locked room murders and all of the other tropes of classic mysteries should love these books. Although I wish that they hadn't felt the need to westernize the character's names.

Bei schönstem Wetter folgen wir Conan, Ran, Kogoro und Heiji bei einer Stadttour durch Osaka - wir bewundern Sehenswürdigkeiten, besuchen viele Restaurants mit landestypischen Köstlichkeiten (die gebratenen Oktupusbällchen sahen einfach zum Anbeißen aus ^-^) und treffen auch auf Kazuha, Heijis Jugendfreundin.
Aber wer ist dieser Serienmörder, der zurzeit sein Unwesen treibt und was hat es mit den Brieftaschen auf sich?
Unser kleiner Detektiv hat wieder alle Hände voll zu tun!

We meet his childhood friend whom he insists is not his girlfriend, mirroring the Shinichi and Ran relationship. The cliffhanger is the football game where someone is holding the stadium hostage, threatening to shoot someone unless he gets money.

Ça y est on part enquêter chez Hattori ! Avec une enquête vraiment intense et pleine de rebondissements, j'ai vraiment adoré !
La 1ère enquête était très originale aussi, on sent que M. Aoyama commence à complexifier ses intrigues !
Il me manquait une petite étincelle pour que ce tome soit un coup de cœur mais quoiqu'il en soit j'ai vraiment apprécié ce 19ème volume !

Heiji proves to be a great friend to Conan. He lends him his protective amulet. Interesting case in the city of Osaka. Very nice final fight between Heiji and Kazua. Aoyama narrates the cases very well. Sometimes you can only find out the culprit in the end.

Anytime there is a case involving numbers or the Japanese alphabet, it is lost on me. Amazing that the author can figure all this out and make it maybe somewhat plausible in context, but hard for me to get through.

Hier mochte ich die Fälle mit Heiji am liebsten, allerdings sind mir die Fälle in dem Fußballstadion so ziemlich egal.
