A thoroughly enjoyable book full of information, and written in way that is understandable for the young reader and yet is slightly challenging, so as to expand the mind.
I liked this book. It is clearly written for youth, but did not seem to speak down to the reader. It is the story of Noah Webster's life; whereas, I'm not sure how accurate the smaller details are, but I am accepting that the major events and accomplishments are honestly portrayed. With that said, the value of reading this book come's from what can be learned from Mr. Webster's example. There is more for sure, but I was especially impressed with his tenacity in overcoming hardship and dedication to fulfilling his passion even as those around him discouraged his efforts. Noah Webster left a legacy from which every American alive today profits. I find that worth knowing.
