This was my first Usborne Puzzle Adventure book when I was eight years old. I loved it. I love the whole series, although the earlier ones in the series are the best ones, I think.

'Danger at Demon's Cove' is part of the collection of Usborne Puzzle Adventures. This one was about two kids camping in a tent outside their grandparents' house on the coast (but we never see or hear anything from the grandparents!) who are regaled with a story of the ship called the Indian Queen by local fisherman Tom. The ship was sabotaged and robbed of its treasure which included a black diamond called the Demon's Eye. The robbers hid the treasure somewhere at Demon Cove, where the kids are staying, and no one has managed to find the priceless gem.

The puzzles were pretty easy with a little bit of challenge. The thing that annoys me with these books is having to get a mirror to read parts of the puzzles, and I really should write down the coded clues for future reference! I enjoyed the story, however I have to say that one of the puzzles seemed quite impossible. There were photos of the bad guys and the reader has to help with apprehending them by identifying who was who. Then we are asked to say who the two new recruits of the gang are. Well I looked and looked through the book and there were no clues ANYWHERE about who these two new recruits were, so I ended up looking at the answer. Those names were nowhere in the book which I found very frustrating.

All in all, I love the nostalgia of these puzzle books - a reminder of my childhood when I would spend hours reading puzzle books or choose-your-own-adventure stories.

My first Usborne Puzzle Adventure book and continues to be my favourite of them all. The story also links to Escape From Blood Castle (Book 1 in the Puzzle Adventures Series) and I highly recommend you read that as well.

read this ages ago multiple times it's a good book for someone who wants to take a while and have pictures and writing whilst still having Whitty logical puzzles to solve not my faveroute bit a good read if your bored

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

I needed to re-read some childhood favourites as wedmin is stressful and I had been reminiscing about these puzzle adventure books I loved when I was younger.

Max and Sally are on holiday and are camping near their grandparents house when they witness some suspicious activity near demons cove. Can they work out what is happening?

This is an excellent book and I am still rubbish/too lazy to solve many of the puzzles but I still enjoyed it. The main flaw in the story is that you never meet Max and Sally's grandparents!!
