This is the fifth, fully revised and updated edition of Sherry , first published in 1961. It explores the fascinating, turbulent history of the sherry region and details its wine production—from the planting of vines in the south of Andalusia and the complex stages of fermentation, ageing, and blending, to the moment it leaves the bottle. The definitive book on Sherry and the area that makes it. Witty and scholarly, the book is sold, in both English and Spanish editions in the Sherry wineries (bodegas).
remember that you are not a true wine affectionardo until you know and love Fino, Amontillado, Oloroso and Palo cortado.

A must read for fans of Sherry, of Spanish wine, of wine in general. It's also interesting to see how much has changed for the world of Sherry in just the decade or so since this was last updated!
