For quite some time now, AR stories have become a miss and have lost their Alexa Riley-ness. They feel recycled and rewritten. This was kinda boring. Not their best. I feel like I have read this story atleast thrice just from these authors already.

Cute, short, and sweet. This can be read as standalone but the investigation from the book 1 gets resolved here.

So Mace and Briar were assigned to plan the wedding of their twins (from book 1). Little did Briar know, Mace is planning this to be a double wedding 😂

They've been harboring feelings for a few years. But since Meadow (Briar's twin) got mad at Heath (Mace's twin) when they were young, Briar's decided to hate on Mace too. But since Meadow and Heath have already fixed their issues and are going to get married, Mace thought this is now the right time to make his moves on Briar. Which he did and they finally got their HEA (double wedding ❤️)

Overall, this is quick read and super cheesy but whatever, I'm in the mood for some cheesefest stories 😂

This was short and sweet. I think I liked it more than the first one because I liked the characters more. Not much happens though. One thing that stood out was how before the wedding briar and Mace sneak off to do the dirty and she touches his junk and herself with her hand and then 10 minutes later she goes and holds hands with her sister and all I can’t think about is I really hope she used her other hand and not the one she just used during sex lmao.

NO CHEATING
NO OW DRAMA
UNFOUNDED OM DRAMA
NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP
I had to come back and write DUAL VIRGINS because how would I forget that?! lol

Perfect Match, Book 2 of the Double Trouble duet, was about Mace Monroe, the twin brother of Heath Monroe, and Briar, the twin sister of Meredith, the two main characters from Book 1 of the duet.
This story picked up exactly where the first book ended: with Mace and Briar walking out of Heath's office to start wedding plans for their respective siblings. Like the first book, this one was also very fast-paced, leaving much out and more to be desired in content/context.
Unlike Book 1, this novella included the parents. While they were mentioned in passing in the first story, they were included in the wedding planning in the second. It was nice to have that bit of context added to the book.
When Mace learned that Briar had placed an ad for a roommate, and saw how many responses she received in answer to it, he was pissed off. Briar had unwittingly included her photo, her address, and the fact that she was single in the ad, giving any psycho too much information. Mace immediately went into "rescue mode" and had her pack her things along with all of her pets, and moved her into his home, which just happened to be right next to their engaged siblings.
In Book 1, the author gave the information that someone was embezzling from several of Mace and Heath's clients (which was why Meadow had been hired. She was trying to pinpoint where the money was going...and by whom). In this novella, that started coming to a head pretty fast. They learned the who, the how, and even the why regarding the embezzlement...and the fallout that swiftly followed with the kidnapping of Briar.
This book was full of angst and drama due to the events that unfolded as it flowed quickly to its conclusion. The emotions of the story were uncomplicated, if a bit bland. The tension wasn't as high as one would expect when there is embezzlement and kidnapping involved, but at least it was present.
The characters were a bit more mature than those in the previous story, but they were still underdeveloped and underwhelming. There was less push/pull between these two than their respective siblings from the first book, and there wasn't as much fallout. It felt too rushed, not allowing for any development of character or plot. However, it did have a nice conclusion, so it earned a four-star rating that the first book didn't.

My reviews always contain spoilers, I write them so I can remember the story.

Blair and Mace have feelings for each other but when their twins (Meadow and Heath) breakup in support of her twin Blair distances herself from Mace.
When their twins make up and ask Blair and Mace to plan their wedding Mace takes his chance to win over Blair.
Blair fights her feelings for Mace at first but he wins her over and is secretly planning their wedding at the same time as Meadow and Heath’s.
Their sexy times are hot, dual virgins! A little drama carried over from book 1, the guys have found out who the bad guy stealing from them is. It’s their dad’s friend and their long time trusted employee. He kidnaps Blair thinking she’s Meadow. The guys see her being taken and give chase and tackle the bad guy and save Blair. More sexy times, I love yous and Blair agrees to marry Mace with their twins for a double wedding. Epilogue on their wedding day, both couples sneaking away for some sexy times and Heath telling Mace the girls are ready to breed.

Briar is a little aghast when her sister puts her and Mace in charge of their 300 guest wedding—taking place in a WEEK. She always knew how Meadow felt about Mace’s twin, but sheesh!
She’s not happy about being paired with Mace either. She’s spent the last few years waging a “war” against them. But there had been that one time she accidentally came across Mace in a very private act that stayed with her and fueled her dreams.
Mace had been biding his time with Briar. When his twin muffed it with Briar’s twin, he’d. Been forced to hold back. But the time has come to go for it with Briar.
Twins with with twins, a dynamite chemistry whose fuse is finally lit, and a wedding to be planned, all make for a special read.

What happened to Jinx? Did I miss what happened to him?
The 2 books are based on what he did, the 1st book was divided fairly between the couple time and the investigation. But in 2nd book, it felt like everything related to the investigation and Jinx was wrapped up or barely mentioned like it was forgotten about. When based on how the whole story begun to bring the 4 of them back together, is the investigation that led to Jinx 😔

As usual, I click on a book and discover it's a series but it's not the first book hahaha
I love this, I love them! Like Briar and Mace are so perfect for each other really, I feel like this has a potential for a full novel but I liked that I don;t have to read some nonsense parts that is often present in full novels. But I hoped with all that slow burn, we get a lot of spicy scenes sadly, it feels too short for that. but overall, always a sucker for "it's always been you" pinings ♥

Mace and Briar

I think this is the first time I gave a 2* to any book written by Alexa Riley.
I was a bit disappointed with it. I am afraid to say. It was a very slow burn in the beginning where both Mace and Briar were more interested in organising their siblings wedding than doing anything else. I think it was only by half the book that a kiss finally happened. It was an OK read.

"Perfect Match" is the story of Briar and Mace.

The second half of the twins gets their story, with the shy hero and chaotic heroine. Was really looking forward to this, but was OK at the best!

It was more than ok for a novella but I can’t say I liked it, it’s was kinda just fine. Oddly I think there was too much bad guy drama not enough steam for an AR book? Maybe just that the scenes are kinda short and rushed over.

It is was not what I was expecting from the previous book. They didn't scream ideal match or overly obsessed like their siblings. It was just ok.
