Secrets

Rate this book
Secrets is written for adults. It is blunt, irreverent, and shocking.
Every town has its secrets. Rock Point, a small town on the East coast, is no different. Sometimes, whispered, unsettling secrets seep out to be carried on the wind, the unseen poison spreading like a disease. It's Summer 1951. Eleven-year-old Webster happens upon her mother's secret-that's when she gets to thinking that if Mama, of all people, has a secret this big, other people must have secrets, too. She becomes obsessed with snooping around, listening in on private conversations, gossip, and rumors; peeking in windows, and pouncing on every opportunity to discover what goes on behind closed doors. Up to now, she's lived by three never interfere, never judge, and never tell secrets. But now that she's seen things no child should ever see, and her friend has mysteriously disappeared, her resolve is tested. Will she break her vow of secrecy to save her friend?
