This was such a fantastic read. Just the thought of Skriker (human/half demon) and Rose (human/half angel) riding their bikes through the desert with the wind flowing through their hair and feeling free was such a Kewl thought, for me a man on a bike is sexy in itself, however, besides that point the story was awesome to include the Navajo Indian Myth of a Skin-walker (coyote shifter) stealing the tribe’s reservation children for his dark magical uses. I have to say I was totally amazed and addicted to learn of the story within the myth.
Skriker and Rose’s love for each other is breath taking and the erotic scenes were so HOT as they are so gentle and sweet with each other playfully. I love that they have that sweet side but also the fierce side to kick ass when the need arises. I loved how Skriker’s demon half got to call forth a Hell Hound and the bonding friendship he made with it in the end. It was very touching to see the gentleness and angelic side of Rose when she was amongst the Indian Children and the phrase that her father told her many years ago “the Children still see us and know what we are” is such a true statement in the reality of our own world.
The ending was perfect and I look forward to reading more about Skriker and Rose’s many adventures riding the evil within the world. I look forward to one day reading of their union of marriage and maybe even reading about a future baby. I sure hope so because I am totally in love with Rose and Skriker.
I got lucky to get an early look at this story. Just a few days in Rose and Skriker's life, this short story reads like something you'd whisper while sitting around a campfire....which is where the story starts. A skinwalker is kidnapping children and Skriker talks Rose into going on a hunt with him. I liked that this time you really see the love between the two of them, it's evident in each look and carress. You get a real insight into how Skriker wants this relationship to grow, and how Rose feels it will never go beyond what they have right now....it made me a little sad. I hope Skriker gets his way eventually. A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours. I can recommend this to all lovers of the paranormal.
Danielle D Smith has put forwards a story revolving around the Navajo Culture, one in which she has researched well, and this comes forth in the read. I must say it was an interesting culture, and well described and a story written well..
We have Rose and Skriker on the hunt for an Ancient Desert monster, who is stealing young children for there souls. In time this skinwalker wants to add Rose to his list... and Skriker puts forward The Devil inside ** reminds me that song ** the devil inside ** lol.. - to hunt down the skinwalker, kill and destroy it and save the one he loves. He calls upon a Hellhound, and all fury is put forward. Skriker will find her ,,, if its the last thing he does..
Danielle has somehow created a dark atmosphere and given it light. The story has dark aspects in it, evil and also a lighter side of love and devotion.
Descriptions and emotions are well portrayed, if your a visual reader, Im sure you will find her descriptions crisp and sharp and easily to be envisaged.. ** blushes** even the norty ones !!
Kick arse smexy, half Demon - Bad boy and his Hot arse - big busted babe his Nephil- Rose: together venture into grounds unknown. Together In Coyote night , they not only get down n dirty, but Im sure the heavens above can see the sparks from the sheer heat and current these pair generate on root 66. A mission Im sure they both wont forget !
The sex is hot !!! Skriker is definetly one horny black dog and Rose his kitten taking her just deserts !!!! The pair have smoking chemistry adding heat and passion throughout this read.. ** after all it is erotic ** * Yes they f**K like teenagers just cant get enough !! But this meshs well with the characters and there traits.. After all we have ** Black Dog and Rebel Rose ** a concution that only ends up an explosion ! ** if ya get my drift !! **
The storyline is well paced, we have kick arse action and chapters that run smoothly- a well paced read but Im sure you will find that certain pages will leave a smouldering trail from reading frisly ** wink wink **
The dialogue flows fluently - a great cast of characters Im sure you will enjoy , and a plot Im sure that will have your interest piqued till the very end. So yes,, its not only hot sex, erotic and a tad raunchy but also a great storyline to boot filled with kick arse action !! A receipe for a great read !

The second installment & follow up to Black Dog and Rebel Rose is a fast paced adventure with two of the most unlikely soul mates and hunters. The story begins when Striker hears of Navajo children disappearing near Shiprock, NM and begs Rose to accompany him on this hunt. Rose readily agrees and they set off down Route 66 to find out what is happening on the Navajo Reservation. Once on the reservation Rose seeks out an ally. Uncle Nick Whitehorse (shaman & heeler) who advises Rose and Striker concerning the Skinwalker that has been plaguing the Navajo people. Uncle Nick warns that the Skinwalker is hard to kill and he will most likely covet and try to take Rose for his own. The hunters heed the warnings and continue into the desert readying for the hunt; when the Skinwalker turns the tables and hunts the hunters.
I loved this story as much as I loved BD & RR. It's smartly written, we get a hint of insight into Rose's history and Striker's demon talents. This story is edge of your seat good, the sex is steamy hot,be sure to have a fan handy or a cool drink nearby;-)
And...for those who do not know: Danielle D. Smith is also a very talented artist. She has illustrated her own book covers and for those interested in seeing more of her art work check out her Facebook page.
This novella is the continuing story started in Black Dog and Rebel Rose. Rose is a Nephil, the product of an angel/human mating. Skriker is a demon halfling, the product of a powerful Hell demon and a human streetwalker. They shouldn't be in love, but they are deeply. I am soooo glad I offered to review this book. I am absolutely giddy! The book itself has kind of a sepia colored post apocalyptic feel to it. It takes place in the New Mexico desert, so I guess that makes sense. Rose, for all her leather and Harley, hard drinking ways, struck me as a very zen, spiritual type person. There is a lot of Native American mysticism in the story, and it just fits Rose to a tee. Skriker on the other hand, he smokes camels, is tatted up the ying yang, and has a hell hound for a pet, yet he's the softy of the two. I just fell head over heels for him. Together they hunt the evilness that preys on the innocent, and on this hunt they are after a Skinwalker who has been stealing children off the Navajo reservation. The descriptions Ms. Smith lays down are almost poetic, until it comes to the sex. Whew! Then it's time to grab the ice water because Rose and Skriker will make you sweat. This book is an absolute must read but for the full emotional impact, I would grab Black Dog and Rebel Rose first. For the full review go to http://www.ragesexandteddybears.blogs...
On this short read adventure Skriker and Rose are on the hunt for a Skinwalker hunting in a sacred Navajo site called Shiprock, New Mexico. Of course to Skriker this is a double ended joy ride. Not only does he get to toss the sheets with his Rose under a star filled sky, but he has the fun of the hunt too. But has ole Skriker bitten off more than he can handle? The Skinwalker has a desire to steal away Rose, and if Skriker is not careful, he could lose her forever.
Danielle has done it yet again. Her imagination and creations are just mind boggling really. With every book I read of hers I fall even more and more in love with her writing and her characters. Her talent in letting us into the minds of these amazing hard-ass but yet still soft characters is what hooks me every time. And with Rose and Skriker you couldn't get a more odd couple. One half demon, the other Nephil they seem to be each others yin to the others yang fitting together like a perfectly cut puzzle piece.
It amazes me that Danielle can fit in so much action, loving and hot sex into this thrilling short story. Well worth the read, well worth the drool over my favourite character Skriker. LOL. Love that guy.
This was the sequel to The Black Dog and Rebel Rose story. It takes place about a year after the first one. It jumps right in to the two hunters just arrived in New Mexico to track something that has been stealing children. A local Navajo shaman tells them they are up against a coyote skinwalker and gives them warning to be careful and gives them guidance on where to find the skinwalker and what can kill him.
The story is both steamy with their romance continuing and exciting when Rose is taken by the skinwalker. Skyrke must utilize his demon powers if he ever wants to see Rose again.
This is a very short read, but satisfying for those who loved the h/h in the first book. Fast-packed gritty romance and danger in the enchanted land of the Southwest.
This short has Rose and Skriker in the desert looking for a skinwalker who has been abducting children. The story gives some heft to both Rose and Skriker's background, which I enjoyed. It also has hot sex, hellhounds and one vengeful lover out to set the world to rights. I really enjoyed it, but I'd suggest you read Black Dog And Rebel Rose first.
This book is the sequel of Rose and Skriker’s story from the first novel called Black Dog and Rebel Rose. I haven’t read the first novel and I was afraid I wouldn’t be involved as I should, but it was totally the opposite! Of course it would be better to read them in order, so be sure to grab them both, you really wanna know how everything started for Skriker and Rose.
Danielle D. Smith did a great job with the cover and an amazing one with the writing. The Navajo culture is totally new to me, but I liked it a lot and I’d honestly love to know more about it now. The descriptions, the characters and the fights are really accurate, they allow you to see only sharp images and that’s why I found myself thinking I was actually living the story! There is suspense and a charming dark atmosphere that, together with Skriker and Rose’s passion, completely absorb the reader. Gosh, when you read they’re having sex, you wish they’d never stop . . .
Reading this short novel is like watching an episode of your fave TV show, when you reach the end you eagerly wait for the next one!
