I completely enjoyed this book and I was surprised by the originality of it. I went into it expecting your typical story line, but I was pleasantly surprised. She had a unique twist that I just did not see coming, and I really enjoy that in a book. I thought the characters were all very interesting, my only complaint was that I wanted to get to know a few of them better and there were some choices they made that confused me a little. As the story progressed some of those decisions were explained a bit, but I was still hoping for a tiny bit more. From the cover you see that this is the Authors first book and that makes it more impressive to me. I hope that she keeps writing and I will definitely be reading anything else she publishes. I would recommend this book to any of my friends who enjoy a good fantasy book.
I'm sure this is supposed to be a YA novel, at least I hope so, but that doesn't excuse some of the writing here. A lot of lines were painful, with dialogue being explained the next sentence when the character's speech is telling us all we need to know anyway. Motivations were also pretty unclear. It's never explained why the grandmother needs an army of werewolf teenagers to start with, It's a good first effort but I hope the next book really improves.
