60 years have passed since legislation was enacted to protect the rights of Weres and other shape-shifters. It is widely recognised that Weres are genetic abnormalities and evolutionary dead-ends.
In all that time, no one in the public eye has stepped forwards and declared themselves Were.
Life is going well for Nat – she is going out and co-habiting with Rob, a Were-hedgehog. Her ex, Gerald, is a better person now he’s going out with Lucie, Rob’s sister. Nat’s confidence is growing and Rob has all kinds of plans to increase her confidence. But the repercussions of time spent with Rob and Robyn, her best friends, are gathering pace, and there’s unexpected news from Uriah, a friend of Lord Merryweather. Alice is getting married and Nat is feeling broody – but is everything happening too quickly?
