I had hopes for a few more laughs from this book, but as I continued reading it, it felt more bitter-sacrastic than funny. Many things said herein could probably be said about many professions. Still, considering the time it was written, it's a pretty important cultural artifact, with enough funny bits to make reading it worthwhile.
To honor Professor X, I will pick at a glaring factual error he makes in the book: When he refers to the Orwellian through that some are more equal than others, that's from "Animal Farm," not "1984."
I do like how he admits he is what he paints the profession to be: A coward. That made me laugh.
