I enjoyed this but unless you want to read a trail guide, it is definitely not for everyone. I am looking forward to hiking some of the Ozark Highlands Trail over the next few years and this book will be a great guide to point out what there is to see and do along the way. There were many descriptions that sounded interesting and I am especially interested the section that traverses an old railroad right-of-way. Ernst also points out where there are waterfalls and places to seek cover in the rain.
Planning a through-hike of the Ozark Highlands Trail, I was directed to this book - the only one of its kind. Along with a few maps (suggested in the book), I'll be putting this book to use along the trail.
Tim Ernst delivers the definitive, if only, guide to this amazing trail system. Extremely detailed, and precise. This book should guide any potential hikers to some amazing sights!
