Episode two opens with the kids all fired up and ready to bring down Amy’s killer, one very wealthy and well-respected in the community Mr. Hunnicut. Each and every member of the group has been warned, repeatedly that they must work within the confines of law if they want any arrest and/or conviction to hold up. It doesn’t take long for the group to decide the law works waaaaay too slowly for their taste and if anything is going to get done, they must take matters into their own hands.
Despite all their differences and petty squabbles, Pone, Bean, and Cash decide they can work together to bring Hunnicut to justice. Though he eventually caves, it takes the boys quite some time to convince Shroom to join the cause. While the boys are plotting and scheming Spaz, whose real name is Evie, has decided she can put her ho skills into action, get close to Hunnicut, and kill him. Probably not what the boys nor the cops have in mind
When Pone’s dad catches wind of Spaz’s plan he is furious and when he realizes he cannot dissuade Spaz from meeting with Hunnicut, he insists on being present, at least at a distance to ensure Spaz’s safety. Spaz is wired for sound but her time on the streets has made her crafty and clever and when given the opportunity she escapes the cop’s sight and goes with Hunnicut to his house. It doesn’t take Spaz long to figure out she is one of many girls being “kept” by Hunnicut at his mansion. Sure, the accommodations are nice but all of the girls know why they are there and that they are not to leave the property, ever.
Well, all kinds of things have gone wrong now, haven’t they? Pone’s dad is freaked out about losing sight of Spaz, Spaz is a virtual prisoner, and the boys are convinced they can easily break into the mansion and rescue Spaz. After committing the tiniest little bit of breaking and entering, the boys discover the body of another dead girl, don’t rescue Spaz, and all but Bean manage to get themselves arrested. Well, all kinds of things have gone wrong-er now, haven’t they?
To be continued in episode three, Kill Me Over the Garden Gate to see what becomes of the delinquent vigilantes . . . .
