Lily Franklin is being followed. At first she believes it’s coincidence that the mysterious boy shows up wherever she goes. Soon his presence becomes unsettling, and then frightening. But not until she confronts him in the middle of her English class does she realize how much trouble she’s in. As it turns out, Lily is the only one who can see him. Confined to a mental hospital for observation, Lily struggles to hold on to what’s real while her sister, best friend, and boyfriend walk away. The one person who remains loyal is Zeke, her ex-boyfriend and artsy outcast. And Zeke has news for her: he can see the strange boy, too. Not only that, but he’s been given an assignment so far-fetched, Lily thinks he’s the one who's crazy. Even more shocking than Zeke’s admission is his belief that Lily is his new partner. Will Lily join Zeke to complete the task they've been given, or will her desperate desire to remain normal cost her the one person she’s bound to protect?
Vanessa Gray Bartal is primarily a foodie who began writing when she was unable to find people willing to pay her to eat. She believes everyone deserves a happily ever after and works hard to make it happen, even in a murder mystery.

Well, this story by Vanessa was certainly pretty different than any of the others I have read. Not my usual type of read. And so the 'jury' is still out as far as I am concerned. Will have to think about whether I will continue this particular series. I have really enjoyed most of her others but as I said before this is completely different.
Given that virtually every time an angel appears in the Bible the first thing it says is 'don't be afraid', I can't envisage a scenario where God would sent one to silently stalk someone until they totally lose it. God isn't about fear. That having been said I very much enjoyed this book, fast paced, at times funny, at times thought provoking.
