Roger Hargreaves was a British cartoonist, illustrator and writer of children's books. He created the Mr. Men series, Little Miss series and Timbuctoo series, intended for young readers. The simple and humorous stories, with bold, brightly coloured illustrations, have sales of more than 85 million copies worldwide in 20 languages.
It's been awhile since a got a Little Miss book. This is set in Twoland where there are 2 of everything. Even the mayor has double chins. haha. I like how Roger set this story up. He keeps pulling you along.
Mr. Nosey shows up in this one and enjoys his time with the twins. Roger should design wallpaper. He is awesome at it.
The nephew doesn't like reading these girl books and I read it too him anyway and he liked seeing Mr. Nosey. He only gave it 2 stars and that's ok. I'm going to finish this series and he is too. Sometimes the aunt picks what we read too. ha
I enjoyed this as a light read, but did not appreciate the terrible identical twin representation. Little Miss Twin & Little Miss Twin have no seperate identity!! But I liked the humour of the Twotown inhabitants having names that play with dual things; Mrs Twiceslice (the baker’s wife), Mr Doublechop (the butcher) & Mr Doublechin (the mayor). And I liked the joke ending. But yeah, interesting Roger Hargreaves decided to depict identical female twins in a world where everything comes in pairs & nothing is unique e.g. the Twotown Art Gallery where “there were two of every painting!” Because normally twins are seen as a more unique phenomena compared to singleton people!!

I absolutely loved these Mr Men and Little Miss books. I remember getting them from my granny every week. There was so much from these simple characters, I remember filling my little bookshelf with all these books making sure I had got them all in right order. I wish I still had these books but somehow most of them got lost with many house moves or my mum gave the rest away. If I ever have kids, I will make sure they get the chance to experience these wonderful, colourful books.
Ah, Mr Men and Little Miss, how wonderful you are!
These books made up so much of my childhood. No matter what I would go ahead and pick one up. I worked my way through them all a couple of times. Each one has a wonderful story for the child to engage with, each character being fun to read.
Everyone has a bias for their favourite character, yet every book is delightful.
Not only I have to read all (almost all) the books of the series, I also have to write 2 books Little Miss Something about my daughters, illustrations and pictures included (kindergarten assignment).
One of the most fun 'Little Miss' books, breaking away from the usual formula. Why yes, you are seeing double!
Everywhere in Twoland is twice the fun fun! Every last thing said is said two times - the charm charm! The ending is a genuinely funny and brilliant punchline.
There are very few books about expecting twins, so we've had to settle for any story about twins we can find. This one was fun for my almost-four-year-old because the characters say everything twice and that kind of wordplay always makes her laugh. My almost-six-year-old read it independently and also reported that she enjoyed it.
Spoke like I lived in Twoland for the rest of bedtime routine routine. It was very fun fun. The kids enjoyed very much much. However, after a while it became very tedious and therefore only gets 4 stars stars.
The twins are amongst the most recognisable characters in the series, and the story has plenty of fun word play as everything is in pairs and the residents of Twoland says things twice.
The book works on two levels as young children will enjoy doubling up, of course its always fun to see other characters in the universe as Mr. Nosey comes to visit and the punchline at the end will appeal to adults.
Mr. Hargreaves’ characters are creative and colorful. I never have a dull moment. There is a pair of twins living in Twoland and it is like living in Twilight Zone. There are a pair of everything. Creepy stuff.
I'm not sure who has numbered this series on here, but the box set clearly has the as #12 but anyway regardless of that, this is another Little Miss classic by Hargreaves. Should one read this book twice? :) Little Miss #12
I think this is probably the most annoying Little Miss book I e read so far. Was irritating to read to the kids and I’m glad they weren’t keen for me to read it again.
I’m never sure with books from my childhood if I’m going to discover they actually contain some toxic ideas, but this one was just fine to read to the girls.
This book was about little miss twins and the twins are named little miss twin and little miss twin of course and they live in two land and they just say two of every word at the end of a sentence
Funny and imaginative. Nice flow to the story based on the ideas of twins and twos. Transports you to a colourful place with a nice cameo from Mr Nosey as well.
