Mark Matousek is a friend and colleague and I've known of his friendship with Andrew Harvey since reading Mark's first memoir. After reading Journey in Ladakh by AH, I had to also read this and really loved it. Mark has the journalistic voice of skeptical (sometimes, yes...) inquiry, while AH embodies the real heart and soul of mysticism. Their intelligence and curiosity play off each other in a wonderful way. I highly recommend this book, and I hope someday to meet this Modern Mystic.
