Tom Fargo is an uncomfortable outlaw in Texas and leaves the gang. He is riding into Kansas when he rides up to a campfire and the man tries to apprehend him. He dies as a result. He discovers that the man is taking a job as a Marshall. He assumes the man's identity and works to clean up the town. This is a fast paced easy read.
