I turned my attention to Braw.
“Tomorrow night, we will have a small demonstration of your power. You will help me liberate five beings from their demons. If all goes well, we will wait four nights until the moons align with the star of Juns and when the magic of this world is at its peak, we will channel the power of Laif through the entire world, whereupon we will rid the world of demons.”
My jaw dropped. “You’ll kill them all!”
Braw shook his head. “No dear. We will free them.”
“You don’t get it!” I could feel panic taking a hold of me. “The Namaels, the Majs, they’re not possessed! That’s just who they are! It’s genetic!” I looked up at Brice and was shocked by the blank look on his face. “Brice! You have to explain to him. It will kill you!”
Brice turned slowly to look at me, his eyes wide.

Hayden has made up her mind. If she doesn’t pick sides between the Namaels and the Majs then innocent beings won’t die because of her. Of course, things can never be that simple and when she is taken prisoner by the humans a whole new problem arises. It doesn’t take long before everything she thought she knew no longer makes sense. Could it be possible that the prophecy was wrong?

Just as Hayden and Jaspers’ adventure began in Crossover, they continued their heartfelt tale in Journey. Mireille Chester once again enraptured my soul into this wonderful read. I wait anxiously for the third in this series.

I recommend this book and the whole series to all who enjoy adventure and romance alike.

We start up right where we left the first book, Hayden, Jasper and Dodge are on a quest to the northern territories so that Dodge can find his stone and become a ‘winged one’ and to keep Hayden from the clutches of the Namael’s Queen Melana and the Maj’s vengeful second in command, Rainen. Their journey however is filled with danger and betrayal but they find help from an unexpected source only to have Hayden fall into the hands of a new enemy, another that would use her as a weapon but in the most despicable way. Bonds are broken and re-forged as Hayden makes a discovery about who and what is really the threat to Quelondain and vows to unite the shifters against their true enemy. But her enemies won’t be easily swayed and for all there is loss, there is also gain as alliances are formed and people continue to flock to Hayden, willing to believe in ‘the chosen one. Hayden & Jasper are put in some very life threatening dangerous positions and have no choice but to take themselves out of the constant danger and return to Hayden’s world to ready themselves for what is coming . . . . . . but will they want to return ? and will they truly be safe anywhere ?

Another really good book, full of adventure and love, hope, joy, sorrow . . . . I don’t think there is an emotion I didn’t go through during this book. I love how the characters are growing and feel for them quite a bit. Hayden has blossomed from a person happy in her solitude to a determined woman who puts everyone else before herself, even enemies, even though her status puts her in constant danger, She rises to every challenge even if her path isn’t clear. As always Jasper is by her side, supporting her through everything no matter what, always believing in her. He has changed from a solitary person also, one used to taking or giving orders unconditionally until he became fated to Hayden and she became his world. Still loving the fated thing and love the way its brought to the reader, not just with the two main characters but with them all, you can really get a sense for the depth of emotions they are going through and it’s the type of love any romantic dreams of. I’m always wondering when we meet new people who they are going to be fated to, is it going to be anyone we know and even liked the little complication that arose concerning Alex. It was also good to see what happened when being fated isn’t a good thing and the downside of it.

The plot moved along quite nicely and kept me really interested, we were introduced to more players and you get a feel for where it is going to go without it being too obvious, there was a nice little side plot there that wasn’t centred around Hayden that was good too. I really like the world that’s created and although we get answers, I also have questions that I hope get addressed in the next book. I want to know more about the Gysps and where they come from? What they meant by what they said? Will Hayden travel to the other continent? Will we see more of Faren? Will she have to kill Rainen? Will she become the ruler of everything? I have lots more too so I’m really excited about the final instalment . . . . . I have a feeling it’s going to be epic.

Warning: This book will take you on a journey you will never forget!

My Rating: 10 of 10

My Cover Thoughts: when you think of bridges you think about one area connecting to another. This is so true in the second book of Hayden’s and Jasper’s journey. They will cross over the bridge into a journey of unknown places and things.

My Thoughts/Review: In Journey Hayden has made her decision and she has decided that no matter she has to be with the one she loves. She will sacrifice what she has to and she will learn to live according to the laws of nature.

Hayden and Jasper are forced to stay one step ahead of the enemy but who exactly is the enemy. Friends are not what they seem and she has to learn to trust her instincts. She will have to learn to decipher her dreams or it could cost her her life. She knows one thing that she has to do and she is not sure she can complete the journey but she will die trying.

She has made lots of friends along the way and they become her family and she will go into this battle with family and she is determined to win. She has to win in order to stay with Jasper and she is not giving up Jasper anytime in the near future. Hayden will have to fight to keep her man and she will do whatever it takes to win the ultimate prize and that is freedom and safety for all those she loves.

Hayden has to do things she never thought possible and she will have to fight evil but she will do anything for Jasper. She and Jasper take a fantastic journey as they come closer to the goal of getting rid of a diabolical man trying to rule the kingdom with an iron fist.

Memorable Quotes: “Hey, Hayden?”
“Yeah?”
“What do you miss the most?”
I smiled. “Showers.”
He laughed and nodded. “Yeah. That’s high on my list too.”
“What about you? What’s number one on your list?”
He smiled. “Fast food.”
“Ahh. French fries with too much salt!”

Advice: EPIC READ! This is a must read. Hayden truly loves Jasper and will do everything in her power to see that they stay together. Takes a whole new meaning to love and sacrifice.

I thought that Part 1 in this series was great and was hoping that Part 2 would match it.
Boy was I wrong....Journey is better!!!

As Hayden became more confident in the strange and wonderful world of Quelondain, so too did the author by thrusting more interesting twists and surprises in Hayden and Jasper's way.

You think you know where this tale is leading and then you are thrown another curve ball to wrap your mind around.

I loved this fast paced and intriguing story so much I barely left the comfort of my bed from start to finish.

I am consumed with love and wonder for all the immensely gorgeous characters and their quest for peaceful and happy lives.

I am chafing at the bit to read Part 3

An un-put-downable 5 Star read ~<;]

I love Mirelle Chester's world that she has created. Her characters are so unique and wonderfully described. I totally became part of her world. Crossover and Journey are awesome books and I can't wait for the third. Part of me will be happy to read it but part will be sad as it's the last one.

This is the second in The Chosen One trilogy and picks up where Crossover finished. You are straight back in the action with Hayden and Jasper as they fight for what they believe in and against being used by someone else. The choices that Hayden has to make never become easier but as a person, she grows and becomes more comfortable with the decisions she has to make. Jasper is by her side, supporting her in everything she does and I pity the person who tries to come between them.

This is very well-written although the perspective changes from Hayden to Jasper without warning which I personally found a bit jarring. However, saying that, it was good to get Jasper's perspective on things so I liked it, but a title or note at the beginning of each chapter would have made it smoother in my opinion.

The plot advances swiftly and time skips over 'dead time' occasionally as the plot moves forward. the character development is good and I am looking forward to learning more about the bond between Hayden and Alex, the bond between the Queen and the cats etc. So much information is given to you in this book and yet I am still left wanting more. I need the third book in this fabulous series!

In short, this is a brilliant book that shows the depth and sacrifice entailed with deep and enduring love. I love the world-building and the characters and can't wait to reimmerse myself in Hayden's world. Highly recommended.

~~~Doris's Review~~~
In book two of The Chosen One Series we find that Hayden had been fated to the young man she had seen on the hill. His name is Jasper, and he is a shifter. He can shift into a tiger. The new trail Hayden had seen in book one is a crossover. A place that takes you into a new realm. In this realm Hayden had magical abilities. The most intriguing aspect is that she has discovered that the beings from that realm consider her the Chosen One. The person who will be able to get all the creatures, beings and other shifters to come together as one unit. If this were to happen then there would be no more fighting and killing and the realm would live in peace. Hayden also finds out that her mother was from that realm and her father was human. Her mother was a Wedelve. You have to read the book to learn about the different being and the description of how they look. In this book lot of changes are happening. Where before there was a distinct division of dogs and cats. We now see that the division is gone and now dogs can be fated or married to cats.
This book is just as fascinating and entertaining as the first one. I absolutely loved it. I was given this book to read and review. I and giving this book 5 stars. Highly imaginative and entertaining! I can,t wait for the third one. You need to read this series!!!
Since learning that she is the Chosen One Hayden has done her best to not pick a side in the war against the Maj’s and the Namael. With Jasper and her other friends at her side Hayden tries to do the best she can to keep the fighting to a minimum while still honing her powers so she can bring about peace between the shifter races, When they are betrayed by one of their own and a new threat is introduced, Hayden is even more determined to join the races. While everyone is trying to get her on their side to use her as a weapon she is just trying to survive. Will this new threat be enough to join the races? Will Hayden and Jasper along with their rag tag bunch be able to pull off this fight? How many more will die or get hurt before this all comes to an end? A greatly written fantasy that includes new and imaginative beings. You will want to devour this book and continue with the series for sure. Loved it.
Before I was half way through the first book of this series I knew that I had to read them all. I quickly purchased the remaining books. The writer has given us a story that for me was refreshing and original. I am an avid reader and have read many stories. The story follows Haydan as she finds herself drawn into another world, one in which she was born into but raised as a human. The three book set shows the path she follows as she finds love, herself, family and many enemies. Thumbs up from me.
Hayden and Jasper’s journey continues as they help Dodge search for the stone that will give him his wings. Along the way they make some new friends and alliances in their quest to save the shifters from Braw.
Another good book in this trilogy by Mireille Chester. This one was well written and continued the intriguing saga of the Majs, Namaels and hums in Quelondain. I appreciated that more detail and depth was put into this book that helped answer some lingering questions. Full of magic and mystery this is a great read to peak your imagination.
I really loved the first book in this series, but this time around I just couldn’t get into this story. The pacing was off with too much happening at once, and an unbalanced resolution of conflict. An anticipated battle since book one, ends in hugs and requests for tea (no I'm not exaggerating) it’s a blow I can’t recover from. Too many times with this book I was left feeling let down and unsatisfied.
Sadly the pacing, and consequence scales outweighed her talent.
Fantastic idea for a story. Very imaginative. Poorly written. Too much descriptive blarb that leads nowhere. Too many sex scenes one after the other, almost to fill pages.
