Anyone who has ever asked with exasperation "Why are we so different? " will benefit from this interesting and insightful look at what makes couples click.
To live a life that actually counts for the Kingdom?
Do you read the great stories of how God worked throughout church history – and think: YES, that’s what I want to be part of!
I write books to empower women to Do What Matters - for their personal well-being, to strengthen their key relationships and most of all, to make a difference in this world.

My current mission is raising up an army of Kingdom-minded digital nomads. I keep scratching my head, wondering when the church is going to figure out that the greatest opportunity in history is right here, right now. It’s called location independence and it means you can live and work anywhere in the world you feel called to make a difference.
If you’re ready to combine your love for God, the thrill of travel and the skill required to build an online presence, then I invite you to come away with me to be trained at the annual Lifestyle Freedom Event.
I’ve been a personality-type junkie ever since I first took the MBTI in college. But if you are not, never fear; this book presents personality types with more simplicity than the MBTI, the DISC, and the enneagram (which I still haven’t figured out). Instead of alphabet soup, Donna gives detailed descriptions of each personality in both male and female forms. Then, wonder of wonders, she offers a section of how each personality pairs with each other personality!
I enjoyed Donna’s conversational, funny writing style and especially that last section where she pairs personality types. If you’re looking to learn more about your own personality or your man’s, this is a great resource. I especially appreciate her Biblical standpoint and awareness that some personalities may conflict more than others, but that’s no reason for a marriage to not “work” well.
This is a pretty easy read. Partow first describes the personalities, and gives good real-life examples that you can relate to. Then she gives some examples of how you can work on the weaknesses of your personality, and what your strengths are, as well as how relationship pairings can either work well together, or drive each other crazy.
I love the quiz in the beginning, which identified me as a personality that I honestly wouldn't have guessed. I also like all the real-life examples, which helped me realize that the quiz result was pretty accurate. The only weird thing is that both my husband and I aren't strictly 1 primary and 1 secondary personality, we each tend towards 2, but have traits all over the board. This made it so that some of the traits of our 'primary' personality were completely opposite to how we actually are. Overall a good read, if only to help you understand how a friend might be thinking about a certain issue, or why they are responding in a certain way.
I am a sucker for all the personality tests and liked this take on the 4 Temperaments. Instead of Sanguine, Melancholic, Choleric, and Phlegmatic, she reframes them as Popular, Perfect, Powerful, and Peaceful. I just have a hard time fitting into just one box, so it was hard to apply to myself personally. But it was a quick read and there were some good nuggets, especially about how the certain types manifest in men vs. women, and how they effect relationships.
A helpful starting point for conversations. It is important to remember that a lot of examples the author gives are not descriptive for the personality type you happen to fall under.
