Pox War Runners is a science fiction story set in the Hyperion Universe. Successful merchant, privateer, and gunslinger Vince Grumman finds himself in a vary wrong place at a vary wrong time. With more than his own life on the line Grumman must go through hell and high water to save lives and fight a war he never expected. Follow the story as Grumman exhibits the true mettle of an Imperial Citizen. In today's episode Grumman tries to warn the people of the Alliance that war is upon them. Thinking that Grumman's warnings are nothing more than a political ploy set up by an Imperial rival the local governor does everything in his power to stop Grumman from spreading the word.
It's a good introduction to the author's universe and some of the characters within it. However, it was extremely short and there were a couple of editing mistakes. The cover design is pretty weak too. However, it is worth reading if you can snag it for free. I paid $0.99 on Amazon but considering the length - about 33 pages - that's a bit steep for me. When Joshua Done writes a full novel or compiles the short stories into a novel I'll pick it up. For more information be sure to check out my review on Timmbot.com.
