After their long summer apart, Ally and Jake were hoping for a drama free senior year. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like things will work out that way...again. — It turns out that Chloe is pregnant and says that Jake is the father. Hammond is pissed at his best friend, but mostly can't believe that Ally would stay with Jake. But Ally is tired of being apart from Jake and is willing to make it work. But that is easier said than done when Jake starts blowing Ally off to go to doctor's appointments with Chloe and Ally joins the school play and meets a new cute guy.
But as graduation approaches, things get more complicated as new secrets come out and Ally realizes maybe Jake isn't the guy she thought he was. After everything they've been through can Ally and Jake get out of Orchard Hill with their relationship intact?

So, Jake DID sleep with Chloe. So cool. Not. And read this if you please: 'But that is easier said than done when Jake starts blowing Ally off to go to doctor's appointments with Chloe'. Well. Just...well. He was all 'I love you Ally' and now we are to read and see not only the fact that he DID sleep with Chloe but he is blowing Ally of for the baby? No. Just,...no. I am not reading this.
EDIT
I said I to myself: ‘Dina, do not read this. DO NOT DO IT! You only get pissed off when you read these books. So, no! Just…no!’
And then I went online on May 1 and promptly got and read the book.
Will I ever learn???!!
Jake is officially on my ‘heroes I want to see barbecued in hell’ list. I mean he just…he is just…I want him to die, pure and simple. Yeah, yeah, but really, it did not redeem him even one iota.
Full review to come when I stop being in danger of bursting a blood vessel over this.
After reading the whole trilogy, I could probably sum up my whole conclusion in two sentences.
First, Jake is an ass. And Aly is a masochist.
There. Done.
The last installment in the SSDTU series is filled with drama, intrigue and so much surprise that will knock you off your feet. It's a whirlwind of events that will make you crazy with drama, anger, frustration, giddyness and all your emotions will be flying off. Despite all that, I didn't like it. Here is a thorough explanation.
It's not that it was bad. Infact, the writing was good enough to keep your eyes glued to the pages. Sad to say though, the series has gone downhill. It had a premise of an absolutely great twist to their story, where all the tension and drama just oozes. Unfortunately though, it was not executed well. The characters have gone from slightly annoying to absolutely annoying that they need a suckerpunch. Aly, here, our heroine, seems to be fine with her boyfriend, Jake hurting her her and acting like a totally ass, who thinks HE'S GOT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN THE WORLD. He doesn't even consider Aly's feelings. I would have considered this and the ending if he would have proven himself worthy of her. But no, how he made up for everything wasn't enough. There was something lacking. An explanation as to why he was an ass the whole time, maybe? I did not even consider the making up part a real one, and the apology didn't seem genuine. It's like he thinks all the hurt and pain he'd caused her would be forgotten through a simple surprise. And yes, she was indeed more than willing to let it. That was when all my hopes were crushed. I honestly hoped Aly would finally leave him and find a better guy because she honestly deserves one.
As my reading progressed, my reasons for him being so wrong for her just gradually increased.
I'll vent.
Hey jake!
I really lost my respect for Jake in this book. I loved him in This is So Not Happening because he proved that he really liked Aly but I feel like his true colors had shown here. He was a partly amazing guy at the beginning of the trilogy, but in the third book, he is a complete test of your patience. Since my patience wasn't that high to begin with, I almost blew up while reading this book. I was fuming throughout the whole book. He treated Aly like crap and all she did was love him.
Had I been Aly, I would have left him in the dirt. First of all, he doesn't deserve Aly. I would agree with most reviewers who said he was just wrong for her, because he really was.
To end this review, let me just tell you one thing: Don't. Read. It if you loved the first two books. You will end up fuming..unless of course, you're basically into books where a girl becomes a doormat.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Oh my god!! I just finished it and wow is all i can say. And also you will not be disappointed, well beside the fact that it is the end of the series which was really depressing when you got to the last page. i am in tears at the moment because its all over. 3 books sure goes fast. Looking back on it it has been an amazing series. when my friend first recommended it to me i wasn't too sure about it, but now that girl has become my new best friend. I loved it. every chapter. every page. every paragraph. every line. every word. every full stop (except the one at the end). it was amazing and definitely a book i will read again.
(sorry for spelling mistakes or grammar errors. im writing this at like 10 o'clock at night)
By the way im still new to Good Reads so i wasn't sure if im meant to delete my original comment. If anyone knows please reply.
Uggghhhhhh!!! MAY!!! MAY???? Why torture us like this? Its not fair!! And what the hell? I know (somewhere deep, deep. deep, deep down inside) that Jake is doing the right thing by going to Chloe's doctor appointments, but everything that happened during the summer seems like such a waste. I mean he said he loved her and now he's blowing her off? I mean i know he knocked up Chloe (still questionable) but still I can't help but feel bad for Ally, Jake just toys with her so much. I mean first book I had to put down every 3 pages just to get my head around why she is still with him. Then the second he was soooo stupid sleeping with Chloe. She was sleeping with Will for Lord knows how long and he just decides to sleep with her one night straight after he leaves. Seriously how desperate can two people be?? She was Ally's best friend and his. But I just feel so bad for Ally after all the stuff she had to go through (by dating that tool) and it all just goes to waste because of Chloe. Words don't describe how annoyed I am at her. Well maybe some words do… but they really bad words. At the start I sorta liked Jake and the second book too (well up until he did the unspeakable deed of sleeping with that {insert word}, Chloe) but now it is just too much i mean Ally has had it rough and now she needs to put up with him too?? Well all i have to say is good for her. Make a move on that cute guy. Thats the least Jake deserves. As much as I hate Jake there still is a small part of me that likes him. I mean i'm still hoping down inside that the baby is Will's and that Chloe gets the treatment she deserves (cleaning gutters) but I'm doubtful it will happen ;( That's why i am not as eager (as i was for the first two books) for its coming out, because i know that there most likely won't be a happy ending.
Ummm Jake obviously didn't get Chloe pregnent!!! it was clearly will ....... remember before Jake went over to her house at like 2:00am when they kissed, he saw "Will" (whoever that is) pull out of her driveway, thats who knocked her up... Hammond and Chloe have it all wrong thinking it's Jake's baby.. Cmon Jake obssesed over Ally through the whole book, do you really think after he was soo surprised they had kissed he'd go ahead and have sex with Chloe when just before he kept saying how inlove he was with Ally?? i don't think soo ... JAKE'S NOT THE FATHER!!!!! it's.so.will.
Sadly, the series, IMHO, has gone down the drain~_~ It used to be so awesome. I loved Jake and Ally together in the first book. And as the story progressed, the list as to why they shouldn't be together just kept getting longer. I now hate to think that Ally and Jake would be still together in college. Honestly, Ally should just find someone better in college. She deserves more than the jerk and horndog Jake. I can't even begin to list of the several times he's thought of dirty stuff with other girls in this book. Yet he kept saying he loves Ally so much and that there's no other girl for him but Ally then he turns around again and flirts with girls. like WTF WTF.
And Jake seriously. I just hated you so much in this book. I'm too lazy to write down why's that. But the fact that you slept with Ally's best friend because you thought Ally had moved on said so much about your personality and how you really felt about Ally. If you really did love Ally as you kept emphasizing, you wouldn't have done such a thing. The thought of really losing Ally if you slept with her bestfriend (or even any other girl) would scare the hell out of you. That's all I can say.
I know it's highschool stuff that it shouldnt be taken seriously; that's why I tell Ally that she has to find someone to spend her whole life with that is not Jake.
Why oh why did I INSIST on reading this book? I just KNEW it was going to piss me off, and I just KNEW it was going to make me cry. Damnit! I hated it - absolutely HATED it!
I'm a sucker for cute, fun romantic comedies, and I love reading Scott's books whenever I'm in the mood for a light fluff. But this series is SO different from her other books because it was anything but light, and I don't know why I ever doubted Scott could ever write anything so serious. In fact, she does a much better job at serious than with the fluff.
I loved this series from the start. For Crestie Queen Ally Ryan to go from social top to a rock-bottom Norm, I felt she was always so strong, so put together and so rightfully good. And this book was no different. Gawd! Would things EVER just work out right for Jake and Ally?
Some may say Scott tried a little too hard to put too much in there for us to feel sorry for the characters in the book. And some may argue that Ally was overly saintly. But I don't care. This book sucked me in like a black hole and elicited so much emotions from me. Scott really put our characters through HELL! Readers need to be be prepared to be really sad or really mad, and when you think things can't get worse, think again.
So my verdict on this book? I hated it! No, I loved it! No, I hated it! Ugh! Okay, for me, this book was an awesome end to an awesome series, and I'm sad to see it end. But thank God this book did not leave my heart aching with a gut-wrenching cliff-hanger end like the first two.
I really liked the end of this series, it was all wrapped up nicely and not in a too unbelievable way.
I was suspicious and angry at Chloe for most of the book, but Jake had his moments too. Sometimes, we being human, make big mistakes and those mistakes can cause an outward ripple effect touching the lives of the people around us. That's what Chloe and Jake have to learn in this book. They also have to learn how to own up to those mistakes and try to make things right. That's the biggest lesson I think this book has to teach young adults who are reading it.
Ally showed a lot of maturity, even at the times when she was being super hard on herself, I was impressed with how self aware she was. It's rare to see a teenager with so much sense of what they've done wrong and so much willingness to make it right.
I think readers of YA contemporary romance are going to love this series. Perfect for fans of Jenny Han, Sarah Dessen and Miranda Kenneally.
One realistic portrayal of teen pregnancy and not from the mom's point of view either, but from a friend. We get to see how vicious teenagers can be to each other. Allie was pretty much a sweetheart this time around especially with how much crap she had to take from the previous novels. And Jake is a jerk. An immature jerk who knows he screws up but he does know that and ends up making the cutest grand gestures. I liked this trilogy a lot. It was quick, entertaining and for some reason I wasn't annoyed by all the inconsistent and stupid decisions they made. Because they were all so realistic. This was a perfect time to read this trilogy because it's such a summer beach read! I think I'll have to look up all of Kieran Scott's older books now.
Wow, with the end of this trilogy, this book really did disappoint me. I loved the first two books, and I just couldn't stand how this book was so predictable and frustrating. I mean, it's pretty realistic - but Jake makes such stupid mistakes. All the time. This was such a lengthy book too, and ugh.
Chloe's pregnant. And Jake hooked up with Chloe over the summer. And Jake and Ally are back together. Say what? That's just messed up. There's all this drama revolving around Chloe's pregnancy, and gosh. This is so not happening? But, oh it is. Chloe pretty much just screwed Jake. Literally and figuratively.
My favorite character? Annie. Honestly, Annie is the most hilarious character you'll ever meet, and you've loved her throughout all 3 books. In this book, it mainly focuses on Chloe, Jake, and Ally. Seriously? I wanted to hear more from the other characters, and I'm glad to see Shannen back in for this one part. Haha. And the twins! and Hammond? we didn't forget about them in this book, but they weren't really involved in it much. And I missed Derek as a part of this book.
So here goes the major ranting and spoilers, cause this book was just crazy and FRUSTRATING:
I was expecting so much more in the last book of the trilogy....
I had to really think about if I was going to rate this 2 or 3 stars. So I went for 2.5 stars.
First thought: This series became a whole lot dramatic.
I didn't like a lot of things with this book. My number one problem was Jake. He literally was acting like a girl. When Chloe told him she was pregnant he ditched his own girlfriend (who BTW sort of supported and tried to understand his actions) to go with Chloe to her doctor appointments and he acted like it was the worst thing in the world. He complained about it and got mad at anyone that said anything to him about it. But then when he finds out he wasn't the father (which I figured out after reading summery) he makes a GINORMOUS deal about it. If anyone Will should be the one who is making the big deal. Will's the one who was cheated on. Will's the one who now has the responsibilities. Will's now the new target of gossip. I know that Jake stressed out about it and failed his SATs and messed up his academics but after the thing was over, he was still a jerk. He still spent less time with his girlfriend. He made fun of Chloe which is absolutely ridiculous! If he never found out he wasn't the dad, he would have punched anyone who made fun of her. But no. Because Chloe didn't tell him for a month and now she's the one who's the gossip target and is having a hard time, Jake gets to make fun of her. I swear I wanted to punch him. That is not how friend acts. Chloe did a bad thing and she knows it. But how Jake acted (getting in fights with Will for who knows what, getting mad at Ally because he thinks he should be pitted, getting mad at Ally because she's being a good friend to Chloe, etc.) was just immature and un-freaking-believable. And the worst part. He doesn't want Ally to break up with him because he's lost everyone in his life and he just can't loose Ally, even though Ally has a perfectly good reason and I'm glad she had broken up with him. He deserved it.
Whew. Had to get all that stuff about Jake out. My next problem was how the book sort of concentrated on Chloe and Jake and more problems. All the fun from the other books is gone. As I said, it's much more dramatic. I felt like Ally was barely there even bought she and Jake alternated points of view. Whatever Ally had to say was really insignificant and pointless and just there to fill up pages.
The ending. The ending really bugged me. I mean okay, Jake apologizes to Chloe, she has her baby, and then Jake turns into Prince Charming. Going to Ally's friends, organizing a big party for her. It's seriously copycat. And annoying. I really didn't think that this was a good finish to the series.
Someone else said that she knew she was going to dislike this book, but she read it anyway and love-hated it. I feel the same way. Kieran Scott really knows how to tug at your heartstrings, and how to realistically portray teenagers. This Is So Not Happening has one of the best portrayals of teen pregnancy I've ever read. It wasn't from the perspective of the mother, which made it unique and interesting. I didn't like it, I didn't want to read about it, but Scott did a great job showing how people reacted, and how things changed with the friendships/relationships in the novel because of it. Jake is one of the most realistic male characters I've ever read - he's an idiot who is controlled by his emotions, but has a good heart. Did I dislike him? Absolutely. Was he written that way? Definitely. Is Ally an idiot for staying with him? Totally, but it completely makes sense to me that she does. When you're a teenager, sometimes love really does feel like it triumphs all, and even though you get hurt over and over again by someone, you can't help but go back.
That said, I was angry at most of the characters throughout the entire book. I think Ally was pretty much a saint to let Jake walk all over her. I recognize that this is realistic, but I hope it makes teens think about whether they should be in a relationship that is that turbulent. There's no need for that much drama in your lives, and the people you're with should make you feel happy and in love. You shouldn't need to pick up after other people's problems all the time.
I wanted to give this 4 stars, but I just couldn't because I was so annoyed. It took a lot for me to get through this book. I'm glad I finished the series, but it's not one I'll ever pick up again. Scott deserves kudos, though, for transforming this fluffy clique-tastic series into something more.
i have one question. hammond has loved ally forever, right? even when she turned him cold, he went out with chloe, still MADLY in love with ally, and even after the break up he wanted her. so i was thinking, shouldnt there have been something, sort of like a jealousy plan or I dont know SOMETHING, when he went out with Quinn, her step sister? I mean, he LOVED ally after all these years through everything. im quite certain that someone doesnt just drop that massive a crush over like a chapter. i just think that kieran scott focused more on the baby drama. and how did lincoln fit into the story? the first book is still my favorite. jake is an asshole. ally deserves better. she really does. good plotline. but it was not executed well. i was dissappointed, my feelings going downhill since the second book. kieran missed some big character flaws, and reeated many of ally's thoughts over and over. we get it. chloe used to be cream of the crop but she isnt anymore. done and done. she didnt have to remind us every chapter.
p.s. jake is an asshole. have i mentioned that already?
“What would you do if it were me?' she asked, her voice practically a whisper. 'Do you think you'd feel different about it?' My breath caught in my throat. *I'd marry you* was the first thought that popped into my mind. And it was true, I realised suddenly. I would marry her. I would take care of her. I would do whatever to protect her.” - Jake
If you've been keeping track with my progress with this series, you'll know I've had a few problems with but overall I like it. Now I've just finished This is So Not Happening - which is the final book to the series, I find that it's a really bitter sweet moment for me. Even though I only started this series a few days ago and I kind of don't want it to end - but at the same time, I'm glad the author ended it here because I don't think she could have taken the series any further.
After seeing Ally & Jake get back together at the end of He' So Not Worth It, unfortunately their moments are short lived because Chloe - one of Ally's best friends who slept with Jake over the summer, claims she's pregnant - and Jake's the father. Ooh! Ally's stick and tired of trying to stay away from Jake so she makes the decision to support him, however this is harder than it sounds because soon Jake starts blowing Ally off to Chloe and the baby. Can Ally and Jake's relationship survive this drama? Or will one of them mess it up forever?
Drama, drama, drama! This book is full of it but luckily enough it's not as frustrating as the last book. I actually really enjoyed this book, it rekindled my love for this series and made me see why I liked it to start with. There was so much happening with this book too that it was a like a emotional roller coaster. If you thought the characters were going to get it easy this time, then you're wrong. If anything it's all that much worse because not only do they have relationship problems but they have to worry about getting into to college too and of course, there's the baby problem. I really enjoyed this storyline, it was heart-breaking, suspenseful and intriguing - you just didn't know where the author would take the story next and I loved that.
Now the characters; Ally: She was defiantly a more enjoyable character this time around but my heart went out for the situation she was put it. I had a lot of respect for her sticking by Jake during this time because I can't imagine how many people would have. Not only that she really grows as a person especially when it comes to her mother's new relationship, where as before she was bitter and childish, she really sees the relationship as it is and accepts it. Good on her!
Jake: Oh boy, I think he needed a wake up call. However he does do the right thing to stick behind Chloe and the baby, however he does the wrong thing to Ally...again. He doesn't learn...I'm surprised by how many chances Ally gives him and at times, he doesn't deserve them but he does redeem himself by the end.
One thing I was hoping for with this book was an epilogue. I love them at the end of a series, so it gives the readers the closure they need but there wasn't one. I would have loved it so we could have seen what the characters were up to in the future.
Overall, This is So Not Happening was a great end to a good series - one that has loud-out-load scenes but one that has emotional scenes too. I'd definitely recommend this series to YA contemporary romance fans and I'll definitely keep an eye out for this authors work in the future.
Okay, so I was reading some of the other people's 'reviews,' which are mostly all just rants. You want to know my thoughts? Here they are: People, you for real need to chill out. How can you people be mad at Jake for "blowing Ally off for doctor appointments"? Don't get me wrong, I love Ally's character but come on, now. I think it's a bit selfish of her to get mad over that. Would you rather him be the type who denies the baby and leaves Chloe to do everything herself? I honestly hate guys who are like that: you sleep with a girl and once she gets pregnant, you just walk out? Its very big of Jake to try and help her out. Yeah, it was totally messed up of him to sleep with her in the first place but it really should not be a shock to everyone that he did. Scott basically implied that that's what happened- was she supposed to spell it out? And the review (I'm assuming everyone's already read that) said Ally was still going to try and make it work with Jake. On the other hand, though... I really didn't like Chloe in He's So Not Worth It. Everything about her just grated on my nerves. Scott made it seem like she was the sweetest girl out of all of them and then suddenly she's sleeping with Will who knows how many times and then Jake too? o.O Jeez, girl: I have no clue how you got the 'innocent' appearance. Anyways, I can not wait for this book for come out. I love this series- heck, even the covers are so amazing and they all flow nicely together. So whatever happens, at least Kieran Scott will be able to say she wrote a series that had perfect cover pictures !
I JUST FINISHED READING IT. So sad the trilogy is over, gotta love this series.. great YA read told from two perspectives. I am really liking the whole see it from the others perspective, I always feel like I get to see more from a book when it is seen from two sides, and I must say that this is becoming a trend with the recently published YA books. Anyways back to the book, you cannot imagine how badly the last book left me in absolute turmoil. The shocking twist (well we all kind of saw it coming, but we were in denial) at the very end, just when I thought it was happily ever after for Jake and Ally.. good things never last.
Excuse my English I am just trying to write and think a million things at one time right now..
But back to the plot, the book follows the lives of Jake and Ally, the dream team, who overcame a million obstacles in the last two books - from Ally being outcasted thanks to her dad taking away the riches of the wealthy "cresties" to Jake first choosing his reputation and friends over her, to Jake choosing Ally over them to them breaking up to Jake sleeping with her best friend, well it just keeps going..
Anyways in this book, it starts off at the end of the last book with Jake just learning that Chloe, Ally's former best friend, revealing she is pregnant and that he is the dad. Throughout the book, we see Jake struggling to come to terms with being a teen dad, and realising the importance of being there for Chloe through the pregnancy. However, as he begins to take responsibility for his actions, he begins to neglect the love of his life Ally in the process, taking her for granted. (Understandably, but some times, I really wanted to knock him in the head and say notice her as well!) Ally surprisingly sticks with Jake throughout through thick and thin, even when some her friends are telling her to ditch him. It doesn't help when the guy in the play she is in, is incredibly sweet, cute and there when Jake isn't.. Will their relationship survive their final year of high school or will it all come crumbling down ?
I give this book a 5/5! But that may be because I just finished reading it, and I am still in the hype stage of thinking "wow it's really over." Maybe, a 4.5/5.. now that I think about it. Not because the book was anything but awesome, but because I can't really give a book perfect score, without being completely in love with it. Close but not quite there with this one. I absolutely loved the writing in this book, a perfect YA read. However, the shocking twist/revelation that comes near the end of the book, is not really a shock at all.. I mean we all saw it coming... and if you didn't, I have no words for you. The book left me immensely satisfied, but at the same time, I felt like I wanted a bit more of a fight from Ally throughout the book... I mean it was amazing she was willing to be with him throughout it all, but if it was me, i wouldn't be able to stand by and let him take me for granted so much. I get Chloe is pregnant, but sometimes I just wanted her to have the guts to tell him how she really felt!
I recommend EVERYONE go out and read this book, you will not be disappointed, and if you haven't read the series at all, GET ON THE BAND WAGGON! Definitely worth the money.
I would like to start off by admitting that these cheesy melodramatic froufrou books are my secret obsession. I gobble them up like fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and then end up feeling the urge to puke afterwards. So when I noticed the whole series lined up in a neat little row at my library I grabbed them up in a hurry, rushed home and ended up devouring them in a matter of hours. And as I continued to read I got sicker and sicker and sicker until I was red in the face with frustration.
Kieran Scott is the main reason I wanted to read this series. Her last series (The Non-Blond Cheerleader one) was so cheeky and fun it could be considered the marshmallow of books, all fluffy and sweet. And so I was hoping this series would be just as sweet and sassy. Sadly I was sorely disappointed.
The first book is fine. Exactly what I expected: fluffy. The second book was a letdown, but I could still handle it. And then the third book. Oh gosh this book was just so completely random and messed up I wondered if she wrote it while severely intoxicated. The first problem is the summary on the inside cover. It- A. gives too much away and B. is completely misleading.
Why Scott decided to make Chloe pregnant is beyond me. Why she thought she should ruin the surprise by putting it out there, on the front cover, is just completely incomprehensible. Way to go, you ruined the surprise. Fun sucker. -_- “Hammond is pissed at his best friend, but mostly can't believe that Ally would stay with Jake.” WHAT IS THIS? No, no, and no. Hammond was BARELY mentioned. He is never an actual character in the story. Beating up Jake at the beginning is his only part in the plot. No need to mention him in the front cover. “Ally joins the school play and meets a new cute guy.” Again what is this? Ally’s new “boy friend” is once again just thrown in there for a few pages and then completely forgotten about after a couple of pages. Absolutely pointless and unnecessary. Time to REALLY vent. First why does Chloe turn into such a slut? So she’s dated Hammond since like middle school and then she breaks up with him and all the sudden she’s queen slut bunny. Banging a Townie (ohhhh scandalous!) and then breaking up with him because OMG he’s a TOWNIE! And then Jake, King ManSlut, decides, “Hey why don’t I go over and climb into Chloe’s room at night!” and then Chloe’s all “OMG I’m so horny, have sex with me Jake!” and then he’s all “Oh yeaaa I get to bang Chloe!” LIKE WHAT IF THIS CRAP? Frankly the book would have been more believable if Jake and Chloe had more than a one night stand. And I would have liked it way more if Chloe got kicked out, ran away to the city, and became a prostitute. Oh I also wish Jake didn’t get accepted into any colleges. Plus Ally should have dumped his pathetic ass. To sum up: Jake is an asshole. And a slut. And a dickhead. Chloe is a whore. And also a slut. Hammond is a jackass. AND ALLY NEEDS TO GROW A FUCKING BACKBONE. Ok I’m done. Sorry about the vulgerness of this review. But this book was just tooooo frustrating not to go overboard.
I'm not usually so invested with massive amount of high school blah blah, in fact I'm one of those readers who really can't be bothered re-living all the angst and pain-fest of what high school is all about which is why I tend to stick with paranormal. But after I read the first book, She Is So Dead To Us, I kinda fell in love with the way Krisen Scott can pen an absolutely consuming story-line with characters I felt compelled to be invested with right from the start. True, the second book, was slightly annoying but I still enjoyed it and had hopes that the last book would finally deliver an ending I could be happy with and be thankful that I stuck with it. I'm happy to say that This Is So Not Happening did just that. Not that I'm saying that this didn't have it's share of typical problems, cause it so did, but I'm weirdly attracted to all the bullshit that comes with these characters and I'm not even sure of the whys. All I know is that this ended the way I wanted it too, I wish we were spared some of the eye-rolling dramatics concerning Ally and Jake, but if I really think about it was I really expecting anything less? All in all, I really enjoyed this series, angst and all. It feels like these characters have really matured with each book and while they are very much flawed, they still felt very much real and I think that's what I loved most about them and what they had to go through to get here.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Scott has in store for us next!
The fact that Jake had slept with Chloe annoyed me and it had suddenly lost my interest and care for Jake now. Even though i don't believe Jake's the father. I still dislike him at the moment for sleeping with Chloe. He was obviously in love with Ally, but why sleep with Chloe? I know that he was jealous of Will, but why? does he really like her?
This book better not disappoint me.
Edit: What i thought - Meh. Jake did annoyed me in the book but great storyline. Kinda predictable. Maybe its the fact that it was also in Jake's POV that i didn't like? Other than that, OK-good book.
This series needs to continue- it just has to! After the way things were left in He's So Not Worth It, I couldn't stand not knowing what was going to happen next. Well folks let me tell you something, Jake isn't the Prince Charming you think he is. I'll post a full review on the blog next week! :)
If you are a person who likes a drama filled story This is so not happening by Kieran Scott is the book to read. In This is so not happening Ally and Jake are going into their senior year of high school but things take a turn for the worst when Chloe is pregnant and says Jake is the father. Hammond is mad at Jake but even more with Ally for staying with him. Ally wanted to try her best to keep everything normal and work out but it was hard when Jake started to spend more time with Chloe. It seems everyday there was a new struggle to face for these teens. This book was interesting and captivating all at once. It took about two chapters for me to finally be taken into the book, but once I was hooked I couldn't put the book down. I was surprised at how fast more complications arose in the book and it definitely met my expectations by this. Throughout the book there was never a moment where everything was perfect, always some issue had occurred whether everything worked out in the end or not something was going on. Once you were reading you couldn't put the book down because you didn't know what to expect next. The book was definitely a great read and the drama throughout was enough to keep me reading. At some points in the book I would be completely shocked by what had just happened and the Scott kept your attention with the craziness of this group of teens senior year.

Wow! What a way to end a trilogy. The drama in this book...unbelievable. I was so consumed in it, I finished the book like in 3 days.
Ally and Jake have had a rough relationship, especially in this last novel. First, they find out Chloe is pregnant with Jake's child. Ally and Jake stay together, but it's rough because Jake spends almost all his time with Chloe at doctor's appointments. Then, Ally finds out that the baby is actually Will's, shocker-right? But Chloe doesn't want to admit it. So, Ally forces Chloe's hand, and Jake finds out, so Jake starts being a jerk to Chloe, and Ally doesn't like it, so they break up. So sad. Then, Jake realizes what he has done and apologizes to Chloe when her water breaks. Finally, by the end of the novel, Jake and Ally are back together.
I think this would be such a good movie. The whole series would be a good movie. I can see it right now in my mind.
I'm sad to see the series go. I guess I gotta check out more of Kieran Scott novels or books like the He's So/She's So trilogy/ I like drama. I don't have it in my normal life, so I might as well read about it, right?

There was a lot of drama in this installment, just as there was in the series as a whole.
I liked Ally a lot more in this one. I didn’t like her much in book 2 because of how immature she was being and all her crazy, out of control partying, but she matured a lot in this book. Jake annoyed me at times, but I can’t really blame him for everything he went through.
I’m consistently impressed by Kieran Scott’s ability to write books that I can’t put down, and her dialogue. I always enjoy her writing.
1st re-read TISNH, the last book of the series, was a bit glum, depressing and kind of uncomfortably dark. I didn't remember Jake changing so much after he finds outand it was a bit scary, I'm not going to lie. I mean, he was always a spoiled, little brat but mostly in a cute way. But after finding out, he was really mean and spiteful. Not that he didn't have a reason to be. Chloe almost got away with murder and Jake got isolated and blamed for acting out and holding a grudge. He was immature about it sure, but he is supposed to be immature, he is 17! Again, this book portrays girls who are entitled, spoiled and were never said 'no' in their lives, to easily judge others for acting the same, and get away with it. I know it was probably done in an effort to give a little power to the girls and show that (most) guys are jerks, but that was just a bit overkill.
Also, what happened to David??? Poor guy, he was such a big part of Book 1 and he was completely forgotten in the next ones :(
Verdict: 😐 Overall, these books might still be alright after 7 years (just barely, mind you) but they were so damn annoying at times. Especially book 2, which I absolutely loved on my first read. Go figure.
1st read I can believe it's over. It's been 2 years but it feels like yesterday when I first read about Jake and Ally. If you guys haven't read the first two books, She's So Dead To Us and He's So Not Worthy, go to your nearest bookstore or library and get them, you will not regret it.
For those of you who are still trying to pick your jaw off the floor after the last book's explosive ending, This Is So Not Happening will kill you! The answer to the question on everyone's lips comes after the first half of the book, so I can see a lot of bit nails in your future. Scott's writing makes it all worthwhile, though. Alternating POVs between Jake and Ally, she captures the mind of a girl who's dealing with so much crap but tries not to lose it, and a guy who is going through so many changes in a short amount of time, that he feels like he's losing his marbles. The way these two teenagers, with apparently a very different view of things, handle a very serious situation is heartbreaking, awkward, funny, aggravating and admirable, everything it should be. The thought alone of everything one stands to lose but also gain from this experience, is overwhelming for adults, much less teenagers. Scott did an excellent job writing these two, kudos.
I have a tiny insy bit objection, though.
So, I guess that's it. This is so not happening concludes the She's so/He's so trilogy. No more Jake and Ally. Unless Scott decides to write another trilogy with them in college. Maybe. Could happen. Just throwing it out there. Whatever she decides to write next, I know it will be amazing. The Private series is one of my favorite series ever(I swallowed those books up like nobody's business), so her future books are automatically on my to-read list. Thank you, Mrs. Scott for yet another awesome series :)
Let me say this first, I completely adore the cover. It perfectly depicted what the story is all about.
“This wasn’t happening. It could not be happening. Not to me. Not to us. Not here. Not now. Not ever.”
So in the end of He's So Not Worth It, we found out that good ol’ Jake is going to be a daddy. Chloe’s pregnant and according to her he’s the dad. It was really wrong timing because Jake and Allie just went back together, starting fresh. But how can they start if Jake has now a responsibility? A huge responsibility.
I don’t know whether I’m impressed with Allie or what. She decided to support Jake in this predicament. She’s there even though he doesn’t have much time for her. She is still with him even though his priority is Chloe. And she’s still there for him even though he’s taking her for granted. Wow, Allie, girls like you deserve a medal.
I don’t like Jake at the beginning but definitely I like him less here. I do understand his situation. But his actions really a test of patience and understanding. If I were Allie I would have let him go. It’s just too much especially that they’re starting their relationship again. But at the same time I kinda admire him because he accepted the responsibility. Even though he was so scared. That he doesn’t know what to do. But still, he accepted it **spoiler** but then when he found out that he wasn’t the father as we all conclude (I don’t know why I putting a warning, it’s a public knowledge) the way he treated Chloe is just plain harsh. Once again, I understand his reaction. After all, he invested a lot of things for the baby: his emotions, his time. He almost sacrificed his future for her and the baby. Then he will find out that it’s not his. Of course things will hit the fan. But for me it still doesn’t justify his actions. Yes, it is really selfish of Chloe to put Jake on that situation but he doesn’t have to be an a-hole about it. It kinda loses my respect for him. And I completely agree with Will, I don’t understand why he is mad at him. He doesn’t know about it. He wasn’t the one who put him on that situation. I don’t think he deserves the hostility. **spoiler end**
At the end, I would have preferred if they didn’t end up together. Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you. I don’t want them to end up together. Jake, even if there’s repenting happened in the book. It just, I find him, I dunno…still wrong for her? He probably learned a thing or two with happened to him. He is just…well to borrow the title of the second book; he’s so not worth it. The drama, the neglect, not really worth it.
Books like these are my guilty pleasure. It’s frustratingly entertaining. Even though I eyerolled a lot I still find it all hilarious. And although for me, the story kinda fizzled out when it reached the third book, it was still a nice read and I sort of liked the happy feel, the all's-well-that-ends-well ending of this trilogy.
I have loved every single thing Kieran Scott has ever written, from her Private series under her pen name Kate Brian, to Tourist trap under the pen name Emma Harrison, and ending with her he's so/she's so trilogy under her real name. And you know what? I hadn't even realized all these books were by her until after I read them and fell in love with them. So basically, what I'm saying is that Kieran Scott is freaking amazing. And this book was too.
The first two books of this series brought the reader though an emotional roller coaster over Ally and Jake's relationship, but they were NOTHING compared to this one. He's SO Not Worth It ended with a character claiming she was pregnant with Jake's baby, and this book starts right back up where that one left off. Couldn't get any crazier, right? WRONG! So much happens in this book that I couldn't put it down until I was finished (seriously, i read this baby in one day).
The characters are entering their senior year in high school, a year that's supposed to be awesome, amazing, and all about making memories with the ones they love. That is far from what ends up happening to them! Ally has to worry about her mom's wedding, playing basketball for who knows what college, and her boyfriend possibly being the father of another girl's baby. Between all of this stuff going on, there's seriously no possible way this book could be boring.
And talk about emotional! I went from loving Jake, to hating him, to loving him, to hating him, and well, you get the picture. I don't think I've had so much emotion about a book since I finished the Summer series by Jenny Han. I would gasp, cover my mouth in shock, and run to my sister's room to tell her about something shocking happened, only to run in 2 minuted later with another shocking piece of news. And the end was so freaking good. Like seriously AMAZING (probably because Kieran Scott references one of my all-time favorite 80s movies, favorite author, favorite tv show, AND a Zac Efron movie all in one book). I was so so so sad that it had to end.
Can Kieran Scott write more? Please? I know this is a trilogy, but I HAVE to have more of Jake and Ally. Now. Please?? Well, if I don't get another book, everyone else has to at least read this series. I want others to be able to experience the intense attachment to characters and addiction to an amazing story. So find a copy of this trilogy now! You won't be able to put it down until you've read the very last page.
So this was good for a trilogy ending. It wasn't as good as the other two books, though, but I really enjoyed it. I didn't like the way the Lincoln thing was treated, giving it so much importance at first and it falling out just like that in the middle of the book. But alright. When I read in the plot "when Ally joins the school play and meets a cute boy" I expected something else. Anyway, Lincoln's name is not one I'm used to so every time it came up I giggled. I liked Shannen and Annie lots in this book. They were great. Faith was good too, and annoying, of course. David and Marshall turned irrelevant, they were there to remind us Ally had friends, hardly anything else. But let's go for the good stuff. Ally, Jake, Chloe, Will. Ally really had a hard time, but I'm glad to say I didn't find her that annoying, or terrible or stupid. She actually managed to be a good main character and act like most people would do, I think. I loved that about her because I could understand perfectly what she did and not ask myself every five seconds "why is she so stupid?" which is what I do with 80% main female characters in this type of books. Jake had his ups and downs. He was extraordinary about Chloe at first and I loved how he reacted to seeing the baby at the doctor's the first time. And it was understandable he was so caught up he kind of forgot about Ally. But not asking more about the possibility of Will being the father and his reaction after knowing, how he acted not only towards Chloe but towards Ally, was too much. I get he was pissed, it's totally normal, he could've hated her forever, but he was just childish. And Chloe, I love her character when she's normal, she's so cute and adorable, but what she did to Jake sucked so much I can't understand how she did that. And Will, oh he's cute. I love him. Anyway, for me the worst part (surprise!) was the ending. Too cheesy. We didn't see that coming, hu? As if. Ally getting back with Jake was way too obvious, and I expected something more original for them to make up. But it wasn't all bad. It was too much right when the after graduation scene started. Then, it got way too cheesy. And the moral of the story? If you're rich and good at sports you'll get into college. No worries about studying or getting any good grades. And that's how society rolls, folks.

In the end of the final chapter of the He's So/She So Trilogy, Ally and Jake's relationship is definitely tested in this novel than in the other novels in the series based on loyalty and the power of love! I was blown away with what was happening that I couldn't put this book down! I thought this book really settled a lot of things that was left in He's So Not Worth It and that killer ending that made me go OMG!!It is one of those books you cannot forget because of all the things that are going on from both Ally and Jake's POV.
I love Ally and Jake soo much and because this book had so many twists and turns that every decision that was made were both in a good way. There is romance, lying, gossip and anything you would think high school does. The Cresties are back in the final book of the She's So/ He's So trilogy. We also got to know Chloe better as well as Ally other best friends. Chloe played a big role in this part of the series because of what had happened between Jake and her during the summer. As the novel went on their relationship is bumpy because of Jake's dedication of helping Chloe with the pregnancy. We also get the insight of where they are getting scholarships and academics. I am sad this is coming to an end because I love this series and it would be very interesting to continue with these characters into a college atmosphere because we all change through school.
I love Kieran Scott's writing because its addictive, fun and full of surprises! This series is so a thrill/gossip but the characters are soo good that you have to know what is going to happen to Jake and Ally!! Be sure to start this series!! I loved the writing style and the point of views because we got to see what was happening in both their heads during this time and their relationship. I felt like crying during some of the scenes. The plot really wrapped up beautifully at the end and I am sad that its the end :( I am looking forward to the many more books by Kieran in the near future!! Thank YOU Kieran for creating such an amazing series!! <3 I will definitely be re-reading this series again!! *hoping for a spin off of them in college*
I learned a lot from this. I got frustrated at Jake, felt sympathy for Ally and got totally infuriated at Chloe. This is a relationship that's been tested. I'm surprised that Ally didn't broke up with Jake. She fought til the end for their relationship because she wants it to work. Jake on the other hand is an ass. Sorry for the word but that's how i feel about him. He's good because he didn't walk away when he thought he is the Father of Chloe's child. And Chloe is such a SLUT!!! God I hate her. Whew! Ally was the one being affected by all of this. She was fine with it when she found out what happened between Jake and Chloe because she and Jake where not together yet when that happened. She tried to understand Jake's obligation to help Chloe with her pregnancy but this affects her relationship with Jake. They seldom see each other and she puts on that brave face of hers to let anybody know that she's alright when she is not. Let's face it, it's not that easy to accept that your boyfriend knocked up some girl in your school. Tsk! Tsk! What a Shame. Ally found a way to relieve her stress when she joined the theatre/dramatic guild in her school. She meets a decent boy she can have fun with. From then on she forgets all the stress that's been killing her. It didn't work out though because she loves Jake despite of everything. Good God! Ally found out that Jake isn't the father of Chloe's child. Apparently, Chloe has been sleeping with a bunch of guys through the summer and chose Jake to take that obligation for the reason that he's responsible enough and they are friends. What a total Biatch! In the end, Ally coaxed Chloe to fess up and Jake got mad at her and Chloe. Because he sees Ally helping Chloe despite everything that Chloe bitch has done to mess up his life. Ally is too kind to help Chloe get through her pregnancy. And Chloe sure doesn't deserve ally's help. Ally accused Jake of being an asshole because he is teasing Chloe a cow and mocking her. They got through every challenge and their relationship has been saved by means of a heart-to-heart talk. Thank God! the end.
