Slightly more detailed than the lonely planet guide as far as architecture and history were concerned. Easy to read and understand. A good introduction to the region.

'I went to see the celebrated Tage-Mahal, of which it is enough to say that, after hearing of its praises ever since I had been to India, its beauty rather exceeded than fell short of my expectations' — Bishop Heber, 1825

Arguably the most beautiful building in the whole world, Taj Mahal adorns the city of Agra but the city itself is much more than its prized marble jewel. Lucy Peck takes her readers through the historical Agra along with Fatehpur Sikri with a great insight on architecture.
