Hae-Gi and So-Na love each other, but their relationship faces many difficulties, mostly related to the hatred So-Na's rich father feels towards Hae-Gi's poor family, and a terrible past that they share.

Dropped at vol.5 (but I did spoil myself for other volumes so dont tell me it gets better.)
I heard this one was like a clone of romeo & juliet.....the whole star-crossed lovers, love each other to the death no matter what etc. but damn it, it's getting too much time to get there even though we already had too much drama. I spoiled myself, checked out some stuff so; NO THANKS. I wont finish this manga. At least for now.
Here is why:
1. I cant stand romeo & juliet. Great love story and great lovers my ass. Two stupid teenagers. That's what they are.
2. All the crying and all the fights between the characters gets repetitive. And then the stupid feud between the families that never ends until they almost die so...UGH!!!
3. It somewhat reminded me of the manga MARS. Which makes me compare these two. I'd rather re-read/re-watch MARS again so no, thanks.
4. The story was already dragging for me at volume 5 and it seems things get so much worse in later chapters. Manga should have been 10 volumes instead of 12.
5. The manga was interesting. But then got boring. Then suddenly got interesting. Then boring. Then I was like 'STOP TIRING ME!!'.
6. After all those awesome and realistic mangas and webtoons, I just cant stand ordinary and over-the-top shoujo drama. Stereotypical love triangles and antagonists trying to break the main couple up with stalkerish and creepy ways? No, thanks.
Art: Sometimes 'good', sometimes 'meh'.
Will I Ever Pick It Up Again?: Never say never...but probably not sometime soon in the future.
Just thinking about this series breaks my heart. I remember this was my first Korean manga series I ever read, and reading the names was SO confusing. But I kept going and by the end I was happy, sad, and everything in between. This series is a great work of shojo manga.
Rich-kid high school drama with a lot of tragic backstory and a fair number of plot twists. So-Na dropped out of junior high school to run the Snow Drop plant nursery. The nursery is her safe space, where she can mourn the loss of her mother. But when her father pressures her to return to school and finish her diploma, she is stuck in the same classroom with her rich and obnoxious childhood friend, Ha-Da.
Enter pretty boy (and actual professional model) Hae-Gi, who was named after a character in a novel written by So-Na's mother. He and So-Na immediately hit it off in all of the completely wrong ways, and we're off and running. The introduction of Hae-Gi's crossdressing younger brother provides a nice injection of chaos toward the end of this volume.
This was a fast-paced romance fueled by a lot of teenage angst. It suffered from some of the usual issues of "these problems would not be problems of people would just talk to each other", but that is to be expected in this type of plot. So-Na seemed particularly inconsistent, and hopefully this will be smoothed out as the series moves on. Right now, she's likeable only in certain moments.
It took me a little while to get into it. I'm not the biggest fan of teenage drama manhwa, but somehow I got roped in by the end of the volume. What's going to happen with these adolescent fools?? I guess I'll have to keep reading, cause I own the series up to volume 12.;;
I am not sure what it is about this that I enjoy so much -- maybe it's that the protagonist is the kind of spoiled rich girl that show up in a lot of Japanese manga as the antagonist?
Alas, you can't win 'em all--this one just didn't do it for me. At first, I thought it was the art style, but that actually grew on me. I think that by the end, I just didn't care about the characters and *all* *that* *drama.* All in all, it wasn't too bad--just not for me.
Snow Drop is a good story if you like a good romance. The artwork took a while for me to get used to, but once I did I came to realize the beauty in the way the artist draws her characters. The pace of the book starts out slow, but it's kind of nice to see the characters interacting and falling in love. It helps build up the readers connection to their romance so that by the end of the book you're routing for them. There was an interesting twist to two side characters which I loved! I don't want to give away too many details XP The only issue I really had with this book was the ending. I felt at some parts it was a little repetitive and forced as though the author were throwing the characters into this state of turmoil over and over again. I didn't think that was necessary nor did I think it built up any kind of suspense because by then end of it we all knew where it was headed. It does say in the description 'a modern day Romeo and Juliet'. I did like the ending though. Much better than the actual Romeo and Juliet!
So-Na mourns the loss of her beloved mother by quitting school and taking care of her nursery. After a year, with her best friend Ha-Da, she goes back. In her class she meets cool and aloof Hae-Gi. Nothing too exciting happens, the characters are set up and the art is pretty. Toward the end things get more interesting. Ha-Da is the comic relief, he is vain and impetuous. He falls for Hae-Gi crossdressing brother, Ko-Mo, who he thinks is a girl. Hae-Gi has a sick mother and needs money to pay hospital bills, he works as a model and starts considering nude modeling because it pays more. He is lonely and friendless, doesn't have much to smile about, but So-Na made him laugh. Curious to see what happens next.
Snow Drop, along with Faeries' Landing was the first Manga I ever brought. I read it and then forgot about it. I started buying more volumes of Faeries' Landing but never got any further with this one. I'm not sure why because after rereading this one, I really enjoyed it. There seems to be more between the main characters than what the book is letting on right now. Why does So-Na have a bodyguard? And why does she keep changing her hair? I thought she looked amazing in the club scenes. Page 60 has a wonderful illustration of her and Ha-Da. I want to know more about Hae-Gi and I'm loving the blooming romance between Ha-Da and Ko-Mo, can't wait till Ha-Da finds out "she" is a he. Haha!
the main chracters of this series is so-na and hae-gi but i found that the main reason i read the story all the way to the end was the sub-main characters, komo and hada. from the firt moment you see komo he is beautiful, majestic and so out of place that you can't help but be intrestedin him and everything he does.
I started out really liking this series... and then slowly disliked it more and more with each volume to the point where I never even bothered to read the very last one.
