Translations of the Abhidhammatthasangaha by Anuruddha, and the commentary on it, the Abhidhammatthavibhavini by Sumangala.The Abhidhammatthasangaha is regarded in Burma as one of seven or nine "little finger manuals", which provide concise introduction to the system of Abhidhamma presented in the seven works of the Abhidhamma Pitaka. It is today the preferred introductory manual for the study of Abhidhamma in Sri Lanka and South East Asia. It consists of prose passages interspersed with mnemonic verses. The text's great virtue is that in some fifty pages or so it suceeds in providing a succinct yet comprehensive summary of the Theravada Abhidhamma system.
