I just re-read this and came to write a review as I did not do it the first time. Probably shock and disgust.

This was as stomach churner and has one of my least favorite tropes, the innocent idiot suspected of adultery on the basis of convincing but flawed evidence. I'm not kidding when I say stomach churner.

For the last four years, the h has raised her little boy in England, divorced from alpha-Romero ex. An angsty marriage had led to increased tension between the lovers, and the h visits her sister. The next morning the H finds the h in bed with a nude man. He efficiently and ruthlessly cuts off all ties and communication with her although she's pregnant. She begs and begs to to talk to him as she is as horrified and sickened by what happened. Apparently she, her sister and a male friend started drinking and things got out of hand. The H wants NOTHING to do with her. Unlike many of these tropes he doesn't deny it's son. In fact they share custody, and our plot moppet has lots of frequent flyer miles having been shuttled between poky ole England and sunny Italy.

Present day, the almost-four year old son is back from a visit. He is the most verbal toddler in the world I might add. An accident lands the h in the hospital and back into the H's arms. Sorry folks, this is where I started to skim. I missed a big sexual assignation where I am assuming HIS magic penis and HER exploding lady bits met up (Lynne Graham is always so distressingly detailed in discussing these feeble victims heroine's attraction to the H). Ah well, I'm sure there will be another time.

They MOC at the H's instigation, and I don't know what logic or arm twisting he did, but the h is bitter her life is once again thrown awry by the overpowering H. He's an arrogant ass-hat to the third degree, but in all fairness he DID find her in bed, NAKED, with another man. He seems to sincerely want to try again. She turns kinda bitchy.

The h feels no hope as how can they come back from the horrible night she blah, blah, blah. She finds out right before the second ceremony

The H drags her off to Greece for a honeymoon and like Willie, Waylon and the boys thinks Maybe it's time we got back to the basics of love. Given the power of our alpha-Romero and his magic P, the h succumbs and gets pregnant right away. Wandering on the beach, a trespasser makes the moves on her. The H sees, flips out and almost kills the guy which is pretty upsetting for everyone. The H thinks the h encouraged the guy, and given their history he has some, maybe, a teensy bit of justification. His reaction is over the top though. At this point even the H says they should stay married but as friends. This couple is so toxic they make Heathcliff and Cathy look like the Cleavers, and I hate Heathcliff and Cathy.

Back home, Florence I think, the H is feeling massive bouts of guilt as apparently the h has difficult pregnancies. He realizes how hard it must have been the first time for her. And we have...
Okay, I'm done. I am exhausted. If you can't figure out the rest, you need to get off GR.

I ended up giving this five stars because there was such a WOW factor on the reveal at the end. I did a complete 180 on Alex. He was giving me a serious a-hole factor for a lot of this book, and by the end, I really 'got' him, and I just wanted to hug him.

I guess because I am getting older, I am less enchanted (if I ever was) with the dewy, very young heroine. I started out sort of rolling my eyes (in a "Yes, I'm a fan of this author although I'm not feeling this plot element" fashion) at Kerry being eighteen when she married Alex, and becoming a mother. However, I think this was so much a part of their love story, it worked. Kerry and Alex were meant to be, and they would have stayed together, and worked through their issues, if it wasn't for what Kerry's sister did. I mean that was so wrong!!! She really ruined two (and almost three) lives. I don't know how she could have borne the guilt of that for four long years! I think I would have gone crazy, although I would hope I wouldn't do anything that lousy.

This is one of the books where I thought the hero was a b*stard, but when I found out what his issues were, I totally understood his crazy reaction to what he dumped Kerry for. It made sense, considering his history, and Alex turned out to be pretty darn tortured. Kerry is a suitably tormented companion for him. She was a feisty woman by nature, but she assumed guilt for something that wasn't her fault and it killed her spirit for four long years. When she finds out that she wasn't guilty, her normal spirit returns, and she gives Alex a run for his money.

This book touches on the destructive aspects of male jealousy. I admit I like a jealous hero, but I could see that Alex's jealousy was extremely unhealthy, and it made him impossible to be married to. It was sweet how Alex really tried hard to be a good husband to Kerry once he realized how scared Kerry was of his jealousy. It was sweet that he bought her a shop to continue her antiques business he made her give up when he blackmailed her back into marriage. I do have to say that Lynne Graham does a good job of showing that Alex is crazy about Kerry, although Kerry doesn't see it that way. She thinks he just wants to punish her, and to use her as a wife and mother to his son.

I loved how Alex's mom comes and talks to Kerry after he leaves when he realizes how wrong he was about Kerry. This is one of the best reveals I think I've read in the Harlequin Presents books. It makes you see a jerky hero in a really new light, and that's a good thing. In this case, it was totally right for Kerry to go to Alex, and those final scenes brought a smile to my face.

I've been reading Lynne Graham for a long time, and I am a big fan of hers. This book showcases her unique style and why she has such a large Harlequin Presents following, and myself. Definitely a new fave of mine by this author, and it deserves the five stars I gave it when I finished reading it.

The Veranchetti Marriage - Lynne Graham makes her debut in HPlandia and it is a doozy of a start. LG hasn't quite found her own voice yet, this is really a heavy channeling of Lilian Peake h martyrdom and a jealous possessive H that really gives Charlotte Lamb a run for her money, but he never hits the h - which is a big plus in his favor.

So the h and H were married. They met when the h was 18 and just getting started in life and staying at her older sister's flat for the summer. The 30 yr old H was fighting the attraction but eventually gives in and the h was head over heels in love. Marriage wasn't great. The H was really controlling and locked her up with his family - who weren't exactly the nicest people on the planet. The h rebels against such a circumscribed existence and goes to a party her sister is having.

She has a drink and passes out, wakes up in bed with a strange man next to her and the H is looking like the Vengeance of Doom. The H leaves, they get divorced. The h is burdened with the shame of thinking she got toasted and slept with some random guy. Except she is preggers and he has partial custody, so they share the baby. Until the h gets into a wreck caused by the bully's, er bodyguards, he has following his son around. The H decides that the h can either remarry him or lose custody of their son.

The h tries to protest, but her parents are elderly and her dad is ill and they can't wait to pimp the h back to the H. The H threatens to tell them of her infidelity and she knows that will kill her dad. The H and h have a lurve club moment and the h hates herself for still being stuck on the H. Then the sister shows up and confesses that she was jealous, so one of her boyfriends drugged the h and then the sister got him to strip and join the h in bed as the H was arriving. The h is utterly appalled at her sister's behavior. But if she reveals it, her parents are going to flip and her dad might die from his heart condition The h always felt that her divorce caused his first heart attack.

So the h remarries the H, but knowing she did nothing wrong and remembering the H's really harsh treatment and the estrangement from her family and isolation she suffered makes her ready to stand up to him. He tries to make like all is past and they are restarting their marriage, he parades her around his family and then takes her to a private Greek island. The H's family is a bit better this time around, because the h isn't the immature teenager she was, but things come to a head during the island interlude.

The h meets some young people on the beach and the H beats one of them up for putting the moves on the h. She flips out, cause his behavior is insane and it frightens her - and his sister doesn't help much when she condemns the h as well. She turns away from the H cause with his kind of violent temper, she figures it is just a matter of time before he turns it on her as well. Then she finds out she is preggers again, and she isn't overjoyed cause her last pregnancy was an utter misery.

So the H decides that they will just be friends and live in the same house. Except the h wants the record on her infidelity set straight and then to resume the marriage. The h is driven kinda batty by how attentive yet untouchable the H is and they go to live in Florence. The H has bought her an antiques shop and vows to be around for her. The h is surprised the H is trying so hard and starting to soften her stance but then the H finds out from the sister and her now fiance about the set up at the sister's party.

The h figures now that the H knows, they can talk to each other and really start over. But the H comes and is very ashamed of himself. He asks her why she did not tell him before he forced her to marry him and she explains that her sister wouldn't have confessed and he would never believe her without proof.

The H apologizes and promises to leave the h alone, he won't even try to see his kids unless she approves, and he tears up the really mean contract he made her sign when they got remarried. Then he leaves and the h lets him go cause she figures if he really loved her, he would stick around and hash things out. She assumes that since he left, he just wanted revenge and that backfired big time. She wants to be loved, so good riddance to him.

The h is having mopey moments and trying to get on with things - her house in Florence was left half finished and she is getting on with decorating it - when the H's witch of a mother shows up. She explains that the H is the way he is because he caught her in an affair when he was 13 and it ruined their relationship and he really loved his father and felt horrible that his mother betrayed him.

(I actually felt kinda sad for the H's mother, she got stuck in an arranged marriage, had a shot at love and then had to give it up cause she loved her son and couldn't ruin his life.)

The H had a hard time trusting any woman after that and then to love the h so much but think she had cheated him was too much for his itty bitty ego to handle. So he cut her out of his life and wouldn't even talk to her. (Which was a shame really, cause it wouldn't have taken too long to figure out what really happened, the H was very wise to the sister's tactics, but then there wouldn't have been a story.) The h is still a bit unhappy that the H wouldn't even give her a hearing for four long years, but she does understand his dilemma and goes to find him and drag him back.

She arrives at the H's hideaway and he is completely drunk and miserable. (The drunk, repentant H will be a LG trademark for several of her stories. They lose the h and hit the bottle and are generally really cute with the drunk part when they do. ) He claims that he has always loved her, even tho he never said it and that there were no other women for him since their divorce. Which is why he was so forcible in seducing her before they married. The h avows true love back and they are happily reunited for the big HEA.

This one was pretty good and the h did a decent job of standing up for herself once the truth was revealed. I wasn't a big fan of the sister and her boyfriend/fiance getting off for what they did and really I thought the H's meanness really went on too long, nor was I a fan of the H's family. Still the angst in this one was wonderful and the H is sooo sad and sorry at the end, that I mostly forgave him.

This book is good indicator of later LG style development too. The nicer than nice h who can't bear to hurt family, no matter how horrible. Greek private islands and horrible wedding contracts. The H who acts like a big rotten person until he finally sees the light and the really big H grovel moment at the end will all become LG hallmarks and make this author one of the best beloved in all of HPlandia. For a first time HP this one is good and tho she isn't at her best yet, it is a good indicator of future LG HPlandia voyages.

A second chance story with the hero forcing a re-marriage for the sake of their four year-old son. They broke up in the first place because the hero "caught" the heroine in bed with a drunk guy at her sister's birthday party. Little did either one of them know that the sister had set the whole thing up out of jealousy. The heroine can't remember anything and goes into a shame spiral that lasts for four years.

And speaking of jealous - the hero suffers from this and has to confront himself after an incident on the beach where the heroine innocently talks to some tourists and the hero takes it the wrong way. Once the hero learns the truth, he looks at his own behavior and begins his own shame spiral. The hero's backstory sets him up from the beginning not to trust the heroine. The heroine finally understands what's going on and how to move their marriage forward. She confronts the hero with her love and demands a declaration from him. She's got her personality back and she's going to shake up the H. HEA

LG did a great job of exploring jealousy and shame - and not just in the H/h. The sister and mother-in-law also have to grapple with their pasts. While jealousy was a huge driver for the conflict, it was shame that kept the conflict alive. From the sister not speaking up, to the heroine not feeling like she had grounds to fight for their marriage or to even be happy, to the hero who didn't think he was good enough to be married the second time.

This heroine was too stupid to live. How could she let her EVIL sister get away with so much manipulative bullshit? I hate insecure heroines who let these dirty bitches treat them like shit and wreck their lives and don't fight back. I love Lynne Graham's novels but the only way I would have given this more stars would be if the evil dirtbag jealous slut of a sister got some kind of punishment for what she did to the heroine and hero. Damn but Lynne Graham is sometimes as holy as Jesus when it comes to letting evil OW and villains get away with just being forgiven. Will Lynne ever be mean to OW and villains ? Justice is needed woman! Bitches like the evil sister in this novel deserve some good old fashioned Old Testament wrath. Grrrr..... LOL.
This book got me so upset I doubt I will read it again. That's kinda sad because sometimes I do enjoy a good re-read of an old Lynne G novel.

I do like the older Lynne Graham's much better than the newer ones. The H in this one was typically arrogant and controlling, but not a bad guy. I enjoyed watching him seethe in frustration when his schemes didn't go as smoothly as he'd planned.

***spoilers***

The H believed the heroine had gotten drunk and slept with another man at a party while she was pregnant with his child. He was furious, so he refused to ever see or speak to her again. Although, they did communicate through lawyers and he spent time with the child. The heroine, Kerry, never actually cheated on him but she carried a lot of guilt because she did not remember what happened that night and thought she had at least gotten trashed and then kissed/made out with this other man.

Four years later, she has a fairly minor car accident with her little boy in the car. The H turns up in England and before she knows it has blackmailed her into re-marrying him. It was either that or she lose primary custody of their child.

Alex felt very self-righteous, so he said some awful, bitter things to the h and humiliated her with "hate sex" a couple of days before they re-wed. He seemed to find that episode cathartic and afterwards, expected to continue on with a normal marriage where he magnanimously put the past behind them. It was kind of funny. He went from being a self-righteous, insulting ass to a loving husband almost overnight. He just couldn't seem to understand why Kerry wasn't cooperating. So flipping dense!!

Kerry in the meantime had learned that she never even touched this other man. She was drugged and setup by her own jealous sister to make it look like she'd cheated on Alex. Thing was, she knew Alex would never believe the truth. Once she realized she was wholly innocent of her sins, she got VERY angry about the callous way Alex had left her 4 years before without even allowing her to explain her side. Plus the things he said/did during the "hate sex" episode were damn awful and hurtful. So, she proceeds to make their remarriage very difficult and stormy.

Of course, they had both loved one another all along and neither had been with anyone else during their separation (which is a nice change. the guy usually sleeps around during the separation, but the woman has to be chaste). It was a pretty satisfying HEA. I felt that both of them came to terms with mistakes they'd made the first time and the H, especially, grew in self awareness.

Very strong story by LG. It had quite a few different elements and the story all hung together very well, so good plotting. I particularly enjoyed how angsty the heroine was when she thought she had done the bad thing and how realistically she perked up when she found out the truth. I had fun reading about the cold hero who had thrown her out without a hearing 4 years before. I loved to see him come to terms with his feelings for her.

I continue to be a fan of LG.

I'm not in the mood to read anything right now, but there's something about the blurb that caught my attention, or maybe because Lynne Graham is a favorite of mine. For whatever reason, I'm glad I've read it.

It's been four years since Kerry's husband, Alex, divorced her after believing she slept with another man while pregnant with his baby. She begged him to listen to her, but he refused to see or speak to her. For four years, they only communicated through his lawyer. But when she and their son, Nicky, had an accident, he turned up in England, and before she gets over it, she finds herself being blackmailed into re-marrying him. It was either that, or he would fight her for custody of their child. (I don't know why every book I've read involving children has that kind of plot-Marriage vs. Custody)

Will Alex and Kerry finally move on from their past and have a second chance at love? Or will the hurt and doubts destroy their second chance again?

Alex. sigh I admit, at first I thought that he's such a b*stard. For much of the book, he treats Kerry abominably. Always reminds her about her "mistake." Aside from that, he's domineering, doubtful, possessive, and has a big jealous bone in his body. He is one of the most flawed heroes I have ever read, and I loved him. Yes, you read it right. I fell in love with Alex, especially after I found out what his issues were. I understood his cruel reaction. His holding back so many emotions considering his past made sense. It made him the kind of hero I wanted to grab onto and never let go of. Plus, I'm a total sucker for the besotted hero and the highly possessive and jealous ones.

And as for the heroine, Kerry, I adored her. She's sweet, strong, dependent, and feisty. Alex crushed her when he refused to listen to her and divorced her. But for her son's sake, she slowly got her life back on track. Although she still felt guilty for something she didn't do. (view spoiler) And when she found out that she was innocent, she fought back. She's a real trooper and an awesome, worthy heroine.

For me, blackmail is always a complicated theme, but as usual, Ms. Graham pulls this off beautifully. The confrontation between Alex and Kerry was all fire and ice, and I was completely enamored. The scene where he kissed her head when he bought her from the shop and accepted her friendship with her business partner, Steven, despite his jealousy, was touching and poignant. And I loved the fact that it was Kerry who sought out Alex. It was refreshing. And I loved that Alex stayed celibate for the last four years that they were separated. Yes! You heard it right. Yes, he dated other women but didn't have sex with them. He couldn't have sex with them because he is still very much in love with Kerry. Sigh! The ending left me breathless, satisfied, and begging for more.

I want an EPILOGUE!

I highly recommend this book. A passionate, sexy, and emotionally packed romance that will surely make you feel like you're on a roller coaster ride.

This is one of those classic HP angsty reads...that you just can't put down till you finish it. If that's your cup of tea, then you need to read this book. Kerry and Alex were married...she was a very young teenager and he was a mature jaded man. Throw in a jealous sister who purposely manipulates them and you have one very powerful novel.

Alex was just one cruel unbelievable bas@#$% who ruthlessly tosses her out of his life when he finds her in bed with another man. Fast forward a few years, and he is demanding that they remarry because he no longer wants to be a part time dad.

The story has incredible passion and also some wonderful scenes where Alex truly tries to forget the past and make his new marriage work.

What I found frustrating was the inner strength the heroine kept finding and then losing throughout the book. She waffled so much, that I couldn't keep up with her from page to page. Secondly, I think the heroine forgave him too easily in the end. Alex got to call the shots way too many times for my taste.

Very emotional and full of angst! Alex's pain broke my heart but I think the heroine was a self-centered bitch and she kind of ruined the book for me.

I had a bit of a problem with Alex throughout most of this. Don't get me wrong he made the same assumption anyone would make, I mean you come home to find your wife/husband in bed with another person you automatically jump to the assumption that they have been unfaithful, right? So I didn't blame him for that, but I did blame him for the way he acted afterwards. Ok so he needed a bit of time to cool off, again I had no problem with that, but then the adult thing to do is to discuss the matter further and listen to explanations etc, but no, Alex walks away and doesn't see or speak to Kerry for 4 years despite the fact that she is pregnant and having his baby. He does however regularly see his son but is now getting fed up with being a part-time dad and wants more. He realises he can't have his son without his ex-wife so goes about blackmailing her into marrying him again.

As I was getting towards the end I was thinking I was gonna give this 3 stars but then I got to the last couple of chapters and I started to forgive him for some of his actions. I also loved the last chapter and thought this was a great ending to the story and it was at that point I changed my mind on the rating...I have put enough spoilers in so I am not gonna spoil that for you, you need to read it yourself.

The only other criticism is that I would have liked to have had an epilogue set a couple of years down the line.

I couldn't believe how easily they were both manipulated by the step sister. She was way too young at the time, fresh out of school, but I expected more from Alex. He was jaded and he allowed his insecurities to fog his brain. I thought they forgave the step sister way too easily.

“That’s just so typical of you, Alex. You can’t even say three little words the way I want to hear them.”

🤡

This quote basically sums up, for me, 99% of Lynn Graham’s books, including this one. 😬 I keep trying. They are like a candy that’s *almost* what you like… you keep going back to see if maybe you get a little more of that *thing* that would make it perfect… and maybe you will find ONE in a big bag that has just the right amount of sweet and tart… and THAT keeps you compulsively going back for more. This is me with LG books. 😅

I’ve tried to pinpoint what it is exactly… it’s got all the stuff that I should love:

❇️ controlling jealous possessive cold alpha H
❇️ young innocent h
❇️ angst
❇️ drama
❇️ enemies to lovers

And I think it comes down to LG’s penchant for shaming the H for being jealous and controlling. 🙄 Having him divorce or leave the h because she’s too young and her youth bothers him. 🙄 Then the h comes into her own as an equal to him and puts him in his place. 🙄 She goes all maternal and teaches him how to love. Yada yada yada…. Meh. 😐

I’m reading these because I LIKE an H who is outrageously ruthless and unrepentant for being a j/p asshole. And I prefer him to like her youth and naivety. The *equality* is there because while he may be controlling and arrogant, she has him obsessed, so she has the power. I don’t want the H to slink off with his tail between his legs. So, when LG sets it up perfectly, but then stomps all over why I’m here, it makes for an unsatisfactory read.

Anyway, I’ll keep trying these because I have found a gem here and there that strays from her standard formula, like Tempestuous Reunion.

There’s nothing *wrong* with this book, I’m sure it will be deeply appealing to loads of readers, but it’s just not my flavor. 🤷🏼‍♀️. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

⚠️SAFETY SQUAD SPOILERS⚠️

- no cheating or sharing

- OW drama - nothing on page but the h assumes he had affairs during their 4 year separation and possibly during their marriage

- OM drama - the H believes the h was unfaithful - and he also thinks she has a romantic relationship with her friend during their separation

- dubcon - he blackmails her into remarrying him and their first time isn’t fully consensual

- h and H are both celibate during separation - H says he hasn’t been with another woman at all since he’s been with her, so he didn’t cheat during their marriage

- it’s not said explicitly that the h was a virgin when she and the H got together, but she was 18, so I think it is assumed

Finally got back on the horse again with a Lynne Graham book I read many years ago. This book is exactly why I've been such a fan of Lynne Graham's book for so many years and why I was so disappointed with her duets books where the hero is physically unfaithful to the heroine.
Alex married Kerry when she was only 18. He had fought against his attraction to her because he knew she was very young. So in one way he wasn't surprised when she went of the rails while visiting her model sister and was found in bed with another man.
Unable to cope with her betrayal because of his own childhood issues he kept her closeted until the birth of their child and then sent her away, divorcing her and sharing custody of the child.
When an accident brings them back together again after four years, Alex decides that for the sake of their son Nicky, the marriage must begin again, even though he's never forgiven her for the betrayal.
When Kerry finds out the truth about that night she is a changed woman. Her sister's manipulation had left her feeling sordid and unworthy. This is very timely as she now has to cope with living with her husband once again.
Alex is a seriously harsh and angry alpha male with a tortured past that will mitigate much of his behaviour but he is pretty unforgivable at times. How this couple grow and learn is a pleasure to watch, if you like a lot of angst and suffering. The ending and all the revelations are beautifully complete and very satisfying which earned the extra star from me.

Don't let my meh rating for this deter you from reading what you might find a really enjoyable book. I felt a little guilty putting on a 3 star rating because my lack of thorough enjoyment had to do with my frame of mind while reading it. I was just so irascible I hated how everything dragged on, and while it was well written, I still couldn't stomach that she just wouldn't tell Alex the truth. Even if he won't believe you (which I think he would have eventually) say the God-damned words. It would have made her guilt less and eventually he would have started to believe her I think, taking him out of his suffering too.

I did like how Ms. Graham showed his growth. He really went from being this completely jealous and possessive monster to something a bit more tolerable. Maybe in the future I'll love it more with a reread. I've never felt like I was low-balling a book before... weird.

I spent a large part of the book thinking that the hero was an utter titweasel, only to have him turn out to be pretty fucking amazing. I'm not even joking. He actually acknowledges his issues and by the end, I'm pretty sure that they have managed to build a healthier relationship than they had before.

It doesn't hurt that his love confession is truly pathetic (in the sense that you want to steal him and carry him around in your pocket and cuddle him forever, not in the sense that it's a bad love confession) either.

Seriously, I loved this story.

I love classic Lynne Graham and this one is a winner.

Eighteen year old Kerry meets and falls head over heels for thirty-something Alex. He's gorgeous, powerful and sexy as hell. And he tried so hard to resist his attraction to the teenage Kerry, but when he finds another man in her apartment, he claims her by taking her virginity and marries her.

It all went downhill after the honeymoon when Alex leaves Kerry with his disapproving family and goes off to his normal life. In frustration a now pregnant Kerry goes off to Florence to her sister's birthday party. She passes out and wakes up the next morning with a naked guy next to her and her furious husband staring at her.

The divorce came after the birth of the baby and now, almost four years later with. I contact with Alex, he is back in her life making demands.

Alex was the stereotypical Latin alpha male. He wants his woman quiet and subservient but hot as hell in bed. When she doesn't fit the mold out of bed, he doesn't know how to handle it.

Kerry stood her ground and did not let Alex run all over her. She loved him but knew how he felt about her and needed to protect herself. The saddest part is that the breakdown of her marriage was caused by someone she loved and trusted. And only because that person was jealous of Kerry and Alex's love for each other.

This is a keeper and one I will be reading again. Thanks LG for this bit of awesomeness! 👏🏼

What a BEAUTIFUL and STORMY love-story!...geez,this one i will never forget!

Reunited husband and wife-type of romances is one of the most intense ones in my opinion. It has so much painful emotions that can lead to anything and destroy everything.

This book has many positive reviews, and i am not surprised.A humble, hardworking mother who are in torture under a guilt she has done, and a passionate hero who still love his woman and will do everything to get her back.

His fingers laced into her hair and his mouth covered hers in hungry retribution. He found no answer in her. She was as inanimate and as empty as a waxen doll. He flung his dark head back, his ruptured breathing pattern breaking the stillness.

“You can never be there for me when I need you,” he condemned raggedly. “Why should I curse myself with a wife who has no love for me? Forgive me for forgetting that you are only here on sufferance. I will not disturb you again.”

Alex Veranchetti is a true man,a true Alpha-hero capable of anything when it comes to love. His love was so intense and powerful and OH I JUST WANTED HIM FOR MYSELF.His passionate and wild nature, how strong and loyal his love stayed..and how he never could let himself touch another woman after his beloved wife, even when he thought that she had her affair with another man!

I have read many books where the hero was supposed to have been cheating in the past,so it was refreshing when it was the heroine in this one.

Kerry`s and Alex relationship was a stormy one.Their romance oh so HOT AND DYNAMIC!The scene in the pool just made ME SWOON!!!!!Alex truly are a sexy man!

How happy i was when the truth were cleared and how Alex and Kerry finally confessed to still loving each other.Lynne Graham, you made my day with this incredible love-story..!

'When I saw you in that hospital, I knew it wasn't over. I looked at you,' he cited in a husky, accented growl. 'And I knew I had to have you again. You're in my blood like a fever and I'm in yours.'

Too much feels! This is one of the best Lynne Graham books that I've ever read. Hero was your typical alpha but you'll surely love him in the end!

Hmm... not for me, I'm afraid. It just seemed so dry... almost devoid of the tense, passionate scenes that I know LG for.

There was definitely a lot of introspection and inner monologuing, but almost to the point of too much. The couple lacked trust and communication, even though the mud slinging and palpable attraction were certainly there. Speaking of attraction though: she said "no", but he just kept going. That... just made me so incredibly uncomfortable. Surely that is rape, even though her actions may say otherwise.

The H was a non trusting alpha character. His growth seemed genuine, learnt through hard lessons of trying to win the h over. She started out with all my sympathy but her contrariness just drove me batty. If he forced her she was 'this is revenge..blah blah blah', when he does something nice 'it suits him to do this' and when he lets her go it's 'he doesn't care'. Now some of those instances work but really almost all instances her thought processes were frustrating. By the end the H had all my sympathy.

“I will not be easy until I have known you again in the only fashion in which I ever knew you.”

The Veranchetti Marriage captures everything I love about vintage Lynne Graham; emotional turbulence, combustible chemistry, and a hero whose jealousy and passion spill over every page.

This second-chance marriage novel begins four years after Alex and Kerry’s brutal divorce, with both still bearing the scars of what tore them apart. Kerry, married at nineteen and discarded just as swiftly, has rebuilt a quiet life around her young son. Alex, the formidable tycoon who once loved her against all his instincts, returns with an ultimatum: full custody of their child… or marriage, again. For two people whose love once burned too brightly, the reunion is like striking a match over dry tinder.

Kerry, now twenty-three, still carries the hurt of being abandoned at the moment she needed Alex most. Their marriage had been fraught, her vulnerability, Alex’s possessiveness, and the poisonous interference of her half-sister created a perfect storm. For Alex, the trauma runs even deeper than Kerry knows. Intensely proud and ruled by emotions he refuses to admit, he walked away believing she had betrayed him, unable to confront the wound or the questions that might unravel him. What he does not expect when he coerces her back into his life, is for those old feelings to come roaring back to the surface; raw, aching, and impossible to control.

As they navigate their forced reunion, the truth of the past begins to unspool in a way that reframes everything. The layers beneath Alex’s cold ruthlessness are revealed through the story of what shaped his outlook as a teenager, a betrayal that carved him into a man terrified of surrendering power to love. His jealousy was not arbitrary and became his defense mechanism sharpened by a trauma he never learned to voice. And Kerry, sweet and young and entirely unequipped to deal with a husband who oscillated between tenderness and withdrawal, was collateral damage in wounds that were never hers to bear.

I loved the emotional push-and-pull between them; the clashes, the tenderness that slips through when they least expect it, the raw longing neither can deny. The passion is palpable even when Graham keeps the explicit scenes understated; the tension and chemistry more than carry the narrative. However, I wanted an epilogue, given how much these two endured and overcame. After all the jealousy, misunderstandings, and heartbreak, I would have adored a glimpse of them finally settled into the family they should have been all along.

Still, the angst hits all the right notes, Alex’s vulnerabilities make his possessiveness strangely compelling, and Kerry’s mix of fragility and quiet strength grounds the entire story. The revelations from Alex’s mother are particularly excellent, adding depth and emotional logic to everything that came before.

Recommended for: fans of classic Harlequin angst, jealous and emotionally damaged heroes, second-chance romances with real bite, and heroines who love fiercely even when it hurts.

inal Verdict: Vintage Lynne Graham; fiery, emotional, and deeply satisfying. A turbulent second-chance romance that delivers passion, angst, and a beautifully earned reconciliation.

Rating = 4.75/5

I would give this 4 stars for the Hero alone. but bcoz i damn well hate the heroine, i reduced the stars to just 1. yes! ladies n gentleman, i freaking hate the heroine. and not bcoz she is a doormate, nope! she's not, that's not even her role in this book. she's no where near a doormat but i freaking hate her bcoz of her wrecking brain.

bcoz im a girl, i'll reversed the condition in this book into my perspective, so, this book was basically like a 30 y.0 something women, get married to a justin bieber-mentality boy like. where's the girl hope this bieber to act at least using his brain and know his placed as a married man. you knw, like filling his time w/knwledge or something, but bcoz it's bieber, and he is a free spirited-im young and im bored-why you not here w/me?-why you should work and traveling much-, i want a monkey as a pet, so what?- kind of person, and also not to mentioned the age gap (not that i complained about the age gap in general, but somehow an 18 y.o w/30 y.o just dont match, it would b diferent if it's between 25 y.o w/37 y.o), but then again, bcoz it was the Hero that cant zipped up his lil bro and abandoned the age gap, he surender to his lust, after all, the 18 y.o heroine also chased after him and like giving him a signal to -come and get me, lover boy- thing. He then married her. and thus all that justin bieber simulation that i mentioned above, happened.

So, the heroine have a half sister, a long legeg blonde who secretly in love w/the handsome hero, and she did all she can to lure the hero, but alex(the hero) just gave her a "blagh..!", until kerry, the heroine come and live in her apartment and met alex. smashed by alex's good look, she chased him, and he married her. her half sister ofc hated her, but kerry didnt knw that her sister was inlove w/alex. so, on 1 boring day, kerry was out from her n alex's family home, to attend to her sister's party, alex said, no. bcoz he was a possesive bastard who doesnt like her sister and told her that her sister is a bitch that gave her bad influenced, kerry, ofc, said fuck you, my sister is an angel, i'll go to her party!. at that time, kerry was already pregnant.
so, the hell w/the baby in her belly, she drink, and got drunk even more bcoz someone spiked her drink. her sister then, still hate her and envy her for being married to alex, decided to pulled the -mtv you've got punk'd- thing to kerry. by setting her up sleeping w/a guy whose lying naked bside her. Alex saw them in bed, got angry, leave her, and wont see her and avoiding her. kerry confused about what she's done, coz she didnt remebered slept w/this stranger guy, but then again, she also blurred coz she really drunk that night. but she firmly believed she didnt had sex w/the guy. alex, still angry and wont listened to her, coz kerry cant even proved that she wasnt having an affair, coz once again, she just gave up searching the identity of this stranger naked man that slept w/her and didnt even pursue him hard enough after he just flew out of her sight and trusted her sister fully when she said, "no, i dont knw him, heck i dont even knw who the hell is he"-thing. kerry then got divorced by Alex. 4 years latter, alex came to her, still mad of her betrayel, but also still freaking love her, he "blacmailed" her into scnd marriage w/him. she ofc, got mad, like hell i want to marry you, dont you dare. along the way, she agreed, and then her sister panic, she then confessed that it was her that trapped kerry that night, bcoz she was still angry for her to stole alex out of her target. she also said that she just mean it as a "lightly" joke, but then she didnt forsee that it would become big and lead to her divorced. Coz in normal world, no husband need to be THAT angry when he saw her pregnant wife in bed lying naked w/naked man. No normal husband will do that right? this was a light joke, ofc it would be silly for alex being that angry, what an ass. he should throw a confetti and said "woah.. is this april mop??, haleluuyahh, i get it, let got home darling wifey".
kerry, with her tiny brain, surprisingly, understand of what her sister intention and she felt sorry for her, instead of angry for her to wrecked her marriage and hurt her dearest husband w/her greatest joke, she said, she felt guilty, stolen alex from her sister. (whaatttt?????).
then, after those 4 long years being tormented of being guilty bcoz she hurt alex at that time for breaking her marriage vow (but she also didnt try hard to proved she's not doing it), after hearing her sister confession, she then, (again) surprisingly, channeling her mind to hate alex even more. ! coz that's the first thing she should do!
how dare this toad black mailed her into marriage, then, how dare this bastard make her felt guilty for 4 long years. but then, she didnt tell alex, what her sister told her. why? simply, bcoz her tiny brain make an assumption, why the hell she need to try to told alex the truth of what her sister did to her? alex will not believed her. so, why should she give it a try? then, she hate alex even more. the bastard still being possesive to her, she hate alex! she even hate alex when alex punched the tourist that try to draged her and seduced her by forced. she said that alex was an imoral animal who used forced to solve the problem. and she accused him, maybe one day alex will punch her if she make him angry (god, how i love to see alex punch this girl! ughh). ofc, she doenst knw, that the tourist that seduced her by forced, is the tourist that already made a problem by assaulting a local girl, but still, it didnt gave her a shit about alex's rude behaviour to punch that tourist. how dare he!

she kept avoiding alex, and saying that he should let her go. but then again, she's pregnant! oh boy, how she hate alex even mmore! now w/baby no 2 on the way, she wont be free from alex! all this happened, without her ever try to clear her 4 years ago problem, and she still didnt told alex about her sister trapped! no. she's too busy hating on alex. coz that shitty guy is deserved to be hate!
alex, then knw about her sister, he then feeling guilty to her, and asked her, why she didnt told him about her sister? why did she kept quiet about this? why didnt she clear the problem? kerry, said, im too lazy to telling you, for what? u wont believed me. so, i wont try. yeaahhh... right! alex then told her that he will not bind her anymore, she is free to go, and do whatever she like, then, kerry feeling sad, why alex?? whyyy you leaving me???? whyyy?? dont you want me anymore???
here, i got dizzy, if i was alex, i might bring kerry to the nearest asylum. maybe she need help. coz she mentally unstable. she cant even made up her mind. she was like a floating boat, going here and there w/no direction. i freaking love to smacked her head!
but then they got HEA.

the end. uegh..
