This was on our shelf because it is a pretty book for decorating and is vintage looking. I never thought to read it until my son randomly read it one day. Fast forward a year later and I am mesmerized by the time of the frontier days as America was settling and wondered if this could keep me in the timeframe. It did. A little earlier tho—1734-1820 (to when Boone died). Never knew he settled Kentucky and also his adventures against the British. Interesting to learn but just as a history piece. The book itself was written to just explain a piece of biography so not a great read. Good to understand more of the time period tho and who Daniel Boone was!

This book tells about Daniel Boone and the life he led from his childhood until his death. It is clearly written and very informative. It is logically written with plenty of action and excitement to keep the reader interested. Good in background, historical period.

Told in author omniscient point of view.
