Setting: El Dorado Auction House and hotel room and outdoor areas of San Francisco

Theme: love; honor; deep and true self;

Characters:
Alejandro Aguilar: handsome; honorable; cold, lustful & robust lover, but not personal; a bit haughty; runs House of Aguilar, his mother’s family auction house in Madrid; father abandoned him and his mother when he was 3 years old and he never heard from his father again;

Lucienne Bonet aka Lucy Burnett: father an art expert who did illegal sales on the side, leading her and Daniel into the illegal side; mother lost interest in her when she became more than a cute puppy; only felt loved, protected, and important to Daniel – a foster boy brought into their household. She fences art mainly for Daniel; she knows art; she takes on many personas; takes on the wordly Lucienne character when Daniel asks her to go to work for Alejandro to steal the Murietta ring – something he needs in order to stay alive.

Michael Murietta: entrusted to give the Murrieta ring to the firstborn/Alejandro; well loved by mother and father; honorable; FBI agent; when father died contacted Alejandro as his brother and asked him to help assess his father’s collection – with the intent of getting to know him and to give him the ring; has been in contact with 3rd brother Daniel, who is currently in jail for art robbery and a guard who is unconscious in the hospital – he wants to do right by Daniel, but Daniel does not want his help, and Michael does think poorly of him.

Ruby Dawson: Michael’s FBI partner; she is a bit older than him, teases him about his lack of sex life, knows about the ring and the two brothers.

Daniel Burnett: does his best by Lucy, loves her like a sister; in jail but was set up – the police sirens were on him before he touched the statue, and the guard knocked out by someone not him… and then he was contacted in jail, beat up, and told to get the Murietta ring. He gets Lucy to help, but to protect her doesn’t tell her too much.

Summary:
It’s been 2 months, and Alejandro wants to pursue a sexual laison with Lucienne – so he terminates her employment (can’t date and employee), pays her a percentage of anticipated auction sales, and makes a case for getting together more personally. Lucienne knows she is lying to him, and though she fantacizes about Alex, she knows she should not act on it…

Michael finally gives his brother the ring and a bit of its documented history – of how it changed the Murietta men to be honorable, faithful, passionate husbands, and that it once belonged to their ancestor Zorro… Alex takes the ring, does not put it on, and then someone breaks into the auction house, shoots at them, they lock office door, then hide in a hidden passage – where they kiss passionately.

She goes to his hotel, because her purse was taken by the breaker inners… and he makes unselfish, passionate love to her… and though she flirts with knowing she shouldn’t… she can’t help herself.

She wants to tell him the truth – but at her apartment 2 men hold them at gunpoint, spilling her secrets – Alex overcomes the bad guys, they hide out until Michael gets to them… she tells the truth – first to Michael, and about Daniel – and then pleads her case to Alex – but he is angry… she goes home, with Ruby’s protection and promise to meet with Daniel in 2 days.

And the night before the four of them are to meet, Alex comes to her home, breaks in (with a bit of info/help from Michael), and confesses his love for her still… ahhhh and she has decided she can no longer be Lucy, and wants to learn who she is with Alex and to be more like Lucienne.

The four meet – Alex has hired an excellent lawyer, the guard woke up, alex and Daniel have been meeting – the truth of all is out… they agree to work together to find out who wants the ring… though Daniel wants to go it alone, his brothers and sister won’t let him…

Much love for Alex & Lucy!

I actually won this trilogy from Julie on an auction earlier this year. I’ve been waiting for what seems like months to read this series and was so excited when I received Too Hot To Touch in the mail.
I loved Too Hot To Touch so much! Alex is the first born son to Ramon Murrieta and half brother to Ramon’s son Michael. Alex is also related to a legendary masked hero through his father. Lucienne Bonet, whose real name is Lucy Burnett, has taken a job at El Dorado Auction House to help out her foster brother Danny, who also happens to be half brother to Alex and Michael. Alex and Lucienne are attracted to one another from the first time the meet. However, Alex doesn’t believe in mixing business with pleasure, so he fires Lucienne before they take their relationship to a more personal level.
I love both Alex and Lucy (I see her as a Lucy more than a Lucienne). Both put family first. Lucy with Danny and Alex with Michael and his mother. However, neither can seem to keep their hands off the other once they share their first explosive kiss. In fact, Lucy and Alex have one of the sexiest shower scenes I’ve ever read. As Lucy’s past comes to light, Alex must decide if he can accept her for who she is.
Too Hot To Touch is a super sexy Blaze release and July 19, 2011 is the release date. Can be ordered from your favorite online retailer, your local bookstore, and even Wal-Mart and Target. Since this is the 10 year anniversary of Harlequin Blaze, Julie’s first Blaze book Exposed is included in the 10th anniversary edition.

In this new Blaze trilogy, Julie Leto touches upon the legend of a masked hero from days gone by. Her Blaze romances are always hot, well-told, and fun to read. In this first of the Legendary Lovers series, Julie sets San Francisco on fire. From the book's cover notes:

Alex and Lucy are a couple to cheer for. I'm ready to dive into the second book in the trilogy!

The first book, Too Hot to Touch" was fun and somewhat entertaining although average. The second book, "Exposed" was boring and the characters were awful. I only got about 2/3 of the way through before I just gave up on it and I don't like to to that.
