I originally read this book back in 2011 or so when it was titled Wrong Number. It's been revised and the author added to the story. I remembered some parts of it but since it had been so long since I'd originally read it, it was like a new book to me.

Aubree Stewart's having cell phone issues, so she borrows her husband's cell phone. That one thing changes their lives forever when she answers a call that was a misdial. and she hears part of a conversation not meant for her. The next year is spent in hiding under FBI protection, away from family and friends, raising her baby alone away. Will Aubree ever get back to a somewhat normal life?

Jason Edwards works for the FBI. He wants to keep Aubree and her baby girl safe until they get the guy who made the phone call Aubree received by mistake. When the safehouse comes under attack Aubree takes off on her on and Jason has no idea where she could be. Is there a leak at the FBI? How can Jason get Aubree to trust the FBI to keep her safe? Can he find her before the killer does?

I liked this story just as much this time as I did years ago when I read it on my first e-reader. It was the first book I'd read by Rachelle J. Christensen and I liked it so much I looked up other books by her on Amazon.

Who hasn't received a phone call that was meant for someone else? Big fingers, tiny buttons on cell phones make that a common occurence. I can't imagine being 7 months pregnant and having my life turned upside down and forever changed because of something as simple as someone misdialing a phone number.

I liked that Aubree proves just how strong a woman she is, especially when her safe house is attacked. She refuses to trust the FBI and go to another safe house and does fine on her own for quite a while. She finally figures out part of the message from that fateful phone call she mistakenly received a year before. I liked her friendship with the park ranger. It came across as a natural thing and didn't seem forced.

I liked FBI agent Jason Edwards and at first thought he and Aubree would end up together. He came across as a man who takes his job seriously, but is kind and cares about the people he's sworn to protect. I look forward to reading more of his stories in the next book in the series.

I received a complimentary copy from the author. All opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are my own.

Move over Jason Bourne...Jason Edwards is on the scene now! That's me trying to be punny (funny) but in all honesty I love Jason Bourne. But Jason Edwards, FBI agent was pretty fabulous as well. If you love a good suspenseful read then you are in luck because this book fits the bill for suspense, action, mystery, and a page turning read.

Normally I can fly through my books, especially a suspenseful read, but this one took me a little longer to read. Not because of the book. I was trying to read it every chance I could get. But life had some ups and downs during the time I was trying to read this, plus some short traveling trips, that just made it a real struggle to find time. I was dying to know what happened to Aubree. I was very carefully avoiding any reviews from friends because I didn't want to know their thoughts about it until I could read it and finish it myself. Well I'm happy to say, I did it. I finished the book. The mystery unravelled before my eyes and kept me hooked to the very end. Now I'm wondering what's in store for Jason Edwards next!

Aubree's character was fabulous. From the opening scene of her answering the fateful phone call to her taking her life into her own hands and disappearing, to the ending of her story. I was cheering her on. There were a couple scenes where I was like, "girl, don't you do that. Don't you know that's when the bad guy jumps out at you?" Or, "Girl be smart, come on!" And "Honey you're brilliant, keep going! Get him!" No spoilers, but just a few of my thoughts while I was reading! And those thoughts may or may not have been about the intense scenes. Just saying!

It was fun and definitely worth the time I spent enjoying it, even if my time was spread out longer than I originally wanted or thought it would be when I picked up this book. Hopefully you all can pick it up and read it straight through, or faster than I was able to. It's good!

Content: Clean. This is a suspense/mystery book so there is peril and a few intense scenes. There are some attacks, there are a couple murders as well. But the author wrote it clean.

I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

I guess I'm more of a fan of mystery/suspense novels than I first thought. When I finished reading Rachelle's book Caller I.D. I headed to the library to get a copy of her first book Wrong Number. Although not really a series there is one character who crosses over from Wrong Number into Caller I.D.

Wrong Number was full of twists, turns and suspense with a little romance mixed in. It was one of those quick-easy reads that held my interest and I easily finished in one day.

Recommend to those who enjoy clean suspense/mystery novels (with a sprinkling of romance thrown in).

This is the first book in the new Jason Edwards FBI Chronicles series and starts the series off with a page turner. This book is fast paced, full of suspense and loaded with action. This is Aubree's story and it begins with her using her husband's cell phone and getting a mystery phone call about a body. She's pregnant and finds herself in a witness protection program where she is still danger. This romantic suspense is hard to put down once you start reading. A real roller coaster that has you page turning and wanting more. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to write a review.

What a great read, so many emotions from start to finish! Engaging characters, descriptive scenery, travel, and so much more!
Having been to Bear Lake many times, attending USU (go Aggies), eating at The Bluebird, and other places mentioned in the story brought back some forgotten memories. I can't wait for the next book!

Oddly paced. I felt like it was a pushme-pullyou. At times the writing was tight and nicely done, at other times it felt amateurish and like trudging a long path to nowhere. I must admit that I read to the end though to find out if she would wrap it up in a predicted pretty package.

Aubree Stewart is on her way to work one morning when she discovers that she's forgotten to charge her cell phone. Her husband lets her take his, and while she's driving, it rings. The voice on the other end speaks before she has a chance to identify herself, telling her that he's taken care of everything and hid the body in a manhole.

Seven months pregnant, Aubree's emotions are already shaky, and she calls the police to report what she heard. When they come to her work and tell her they indeed did find a body in the manhole, she nearly passes out, the strain too much for her. But things get worse as she learns that her own family has been targeted and she must now go into hiding, as directed by the FBI.

The agents assigned to her case take good care of her, and she brings a beautiful baby daughter into the world while waiting for them to bring the situation to a safe conclusion. But she realizes that if she's ever going to have a life, and to give a happy upbringing to her daughter, she can't wait around forever - she must do what she can to take control of her own future.

"Wrong Number" is full of suspenseful twists and turns. When you think Aubree is safe, she's really not, and when you think she's in danger, she's really not, and the bad people are really good people and the good people are really bad people and you are wondering just what the heck is going on all throughout the story. I like stories like that. I also found it interesting that our heroine is a pregnant mother - we don't often see pregnant women playing leading roles in fiction, especially suspense fiction, and I found that a refreshing twist.

The only thing I didn't really like was the length of the book. The time frame stretches over a few months, and I would have enjoyed knowing a little more about what Aubree did during those months. I think we could have seen another fifty pages in there. But that's a good thing I didn't like, because it means I was enjoying myself and wanted more.

An edge of your seat suspense that keeps you wondering where the next attack will come from. I hadn't read one of Ms. Christensen's books in a while and I had forgotten how good she is writing in the romantic suspense genre. I found the main character Aubree to be a wonderful lead, she is very emotional with a big heart that realizes she is stronger than she thought she was. I think the two leading men were great for the roles they portrayed, good looking, with a sense of humor and wanting to be a protector. The parents are loving and stand with their children. The story takes place in different places but the area I found the nicest was around the Bear Lake region on the Idaho and Nebraska borders. It sounded like a beautiful place to go camping with sandy beaches and water sports as well as fishing and hiking. I really enjoyed the plot line as it is something very relevant to the world today, although we don't know what the secret is until it explodes into the story. I think this may be the first book in a series about FBI agent Jason Edwards. I will be watching for it.
I received a free download of this book from the publisher. I am leaving a review for this book because I really enjoyed it and wanted to share my own honest opinion

great book keeps you reading and on edge. It is quick starting too. Aubree's cell phone is dead and she takes her husbands to work with her. On the way it rings and when she answers she hears someone tell her about the murder and placement of a body. She calls the police and that starts a year of a nightmare existence. Her husband gets murdered, she's 7 months pregnant and she is forced into the witness protection program that has it's own leaks. After no one seems to be keeping her safe she heads out on her own to Bear Lake in Idaho where she meets a park ranger and lets her guard down and trust him and even falls in love with him. He helps her to fit the missing pieces together in what she heard on the phone call and what she has learned since implicating a San Diego Sheriff and his Nebraska governor brother in a ethanol plot to make money and in the process commit murder. The FBI agent that helps her, Jason has feelings for her too, but Wyatt wins her heart and her free future with Scarlett, her daughter.

“Wrong Number” Hits the Right Notes

Rachelle Christensen’s “Wrong Number” is sure to have a wide appeal, because it effectively pulls of the trick of being a “romantic suspense” novel. It is full of puzzles and action, but also brings in a love story that was tastefully done so that it enhanced the action instead of overshadowing it.
The novel follows a woman who accidently overhears about a crime over the phone. She is put in witness protection and by the FBI and finds out that not even then is she safe. Forging out on her own, she has to unravel the mysterious message she heard on the phone in order to protect herself and her young child.
The story and the writing are brisk and if I had only one complaint it would be that it feels like it gets over too fast. The characters and plot were so interesting that I wanted them to stick around a while longer. That being said, I hope that Rachelle has more to come, as her debut novel was very promising.

Oh wow! Oh wow! Oh wow! This book had my heart racing up to the very end, just like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, wondering if the chute would open (not that I would test that theory)!
Forget What You've Heard is about Aubree, a young pregnant woman who hears incriminating information about a murder when she answers her husband's cell phone. From that moment, Aubree becomes a target. With too much and too little information, the FBI is brought in to unravel the facts and to keep Aubree safe. When her location becomes compromised while in the witness protectionn program, Aubree flees and strikes out on her own.
This novel is a high-octane suspense, complete with an adrenaline rush. The plot is compelling and draws the reader in from the first page. Who are the good guys and will they reach Aubree before the murderer finds her?
Excellent storytelling, strong characters and a clean read elevates this book to the top of my all-time favorites list.

This book was very suspenseful, but not over the top. I enjoyed it. I thought the author did a good job in keeping the mystery going and in developing the main character, Aubree. The story literally took off from page two and never slowed down. I especially liked the second half of the book, where familiar places were talked of (Bear Lake and Logan, especially).

Aubree Stewart has her husband's cell phone and receives a strange call that talks about a crime. She finally tells the caller that he has the wrong number and she is now a witness and on a run for her life.

I don't know about anyone else that has read this book, but I had a hard time putting the book down..it kept me on the edge of my chair wondering what was going to happen next. The suspense in this book in places really got me and I was trying to figure out who the leak was, why and how they kept finding Aubree. I was so mistrustful of everyone, I even wondered if the park ranger wasn't really who he said he was....but only way to find out is read this book

This is the first book I’ve read by Rachelle Christensen and I really enjoyed it! I was hooked from the first page. When I wasn’t readying it, I was thinking about it and even talking about it with my husband. “So my friend, Aubree, who’s in the witness protection program...” 😂 I loved the characters and how the book unfolded. It has suspense, intrigue, and a sweet romance. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Rachelle Christensen weaves a tale of intrigue, suspense, and romance that is sure to please readers of all genres. Aubree’s story captured me from the very first page, and her struggles—both internal and external—kept me cheering for her until the very end. It's a heart-warming, heart-pounding story. I recommend it!

This would be a fun mystery for the YA crowd. It was a pretty good mystery. A bit predictable, but fun. There were some duh moments where it seemed the heroine didn't use her brain, but on the whole it was pretty good. It was a fast read. I liked her other mystery Caller ID better.

Forget What You've Heard is spine tingling good! I should have started reading this earlier in the day because I was up too late finishing it. This book is a well crafted suspense story with a likable heroine and plenty of nasty characters up to no good! You will not want to put it down!

What if this happened to you?

When Aubree Stewart leaves her home one day with her husband's cell phone instead of her own, she has no idea that her whole life is about to be upended. She's driving to work when she receives a phone call. The voice on the other end is not one she recognizes, and what's more, the man says he has taken care of it and the body is in a manhole. What?!

She reports the call. Sure enough, there is a body down a manhole. If that weren't scary enough, simply by answering the phone, she has made herself and her family targets for--whoever these people are. That's just the beginning.

* * * * *
Great hook! Like many thrillers, there's the "what if" factor. What if something seemingly ordinary, that happens to us all, was really much more than that? Something dangerous? Where would that chain of events lead?

There was a lot I liked about this one. Aubree was a strong character. I thought her reactions were believable. She's 7 months pregnant in the beginning of the story, and I was about that when I read it. Gave me a personal perspective on it all, I guess. The mystery itself was good--it kept me reading to find out what was going on.

I was lukewarm about the romance. It was not as believable as the rest. Our hero came along and was willing to overlook a whole lot for her sake, while she came to trust him rather quickly, considering everything she had been through.

Not long into it, I thought "this must be the author's first book". And I found out it was. I almost quit reading it because the writing wasn't that great, especially the dialogue (ex. FBI agents discussing things and referring to the protagonist's "mom". "Mom was used way too much when "mother" would have been more likely). But I stuck with it. The story premise is good... in fact the story is good. I think she just needed more experience with writing. And from what I understand, Christensen did do a rewrite, added some things, and changed the title, so the rewrite may be much better. Anyway, looks like she's a popular writer, so she must have gotten better. I'm glad to see a success story.

Great story

Loved this book! It has romance, car chases, intrigue, murder, love and mystery. Plus a lot more. Be wary of answering a call when you don't recognize the number. The FBI kinda lost sight of what they were supposed to be doing, protect the witness. This witness proves to be self-reliant in several ways after entering witness protection. Sometimes you just have to look out for yourself without any help no matter the situation. I plan on reading more books by this author. Ms Christensen definitely knows how to tell a story and hold your interest throughout the book.

Forget What You've Heard

I loved this amazing romantic suspense book that was a nonstop action thriller from beginning to end. When Aubree answers an unknown number on her cell phone and realizes after hearing the conversation that the person called the wrong number, she and her family become a target. While reporting to the police what she heard, her husband is murdered before she gets home so she is put in witness protection. Is she now safe? You will have to read the book to find out. I highly recommend this book if you like intense non-stop action.

This was a fun mystery. It dragged in a few places (especially since I read a paperback of this one); but I really like this author because a lot of places are local and familiar and it is clean, language and content. Overall the story flowed pretty well and seemed realistic... within reason... I really liked Wyatt's character. I can't say more without spoiling something.

I choose this book because the author has the same name as my daughter. I know strange reason but I have to say it was such a great book. I started it and then got hooked. In the end, I just gave up and sat down to finish it. Rachelle does a wonderful job of creating a story that is believable and so intense that you will have a hard time getting anything done until you finish.

Aubree is pregnant with her first child – her husband lent her his phone. On her way to work she takes a call from his phone and hears a male voice talking about a dead body and where it’s hidden. Things escalate quickly from their and her life changes rapidly.
This is a well-written book with a good flow, a page turner.
