Gabe’s lifestyle as a Master Dom is leaving him empty and cold. Everything else in his life seems to be falling apart too. But Reagan sees the emotions Gabe’s keeping locked inside, and she knows how to unlock those feelings. Gabe is determined to never lose control, show weakness or reveal his secrets. But the lust he shares with Reagan breaks through his walls. Faced with a bleak, lonely future, he must somehow find the strength to let himself be vulnerable before he can experience the joy and sweetness of love. To see how Reagan’s friends found love and lust, don’t miss Tori’s romance in Power Exchange or Tara’s in Taming Tara. Reader Contains very brief male/male touching.

"Power shifted, and balanced, and shifted again in a never-ending flow, back and forth, giving and receiving."
Gabe is a Master Dom at Club le Chateau but finds himself bored and not enjoying BDSM or life in general. He desides to take a step out of the scene for a bit. He buisness is slowly dropping due to the recession so he finds himself taking smaller jobs almost anything to keep going. A new potiential job falls into his lap he just has to work with Reagan.
Reagan is starting a new life in a new city and making friends that she chooses. Lucky enough to find a job with her lack of experience she has a chance to prove herself with a new project. Tara and Joe give Gabe and Reagan two weeks to see if they can work together so the clock start ticking.
Both are divorced and their marriages were definatly less that perfect. This book has emotions behind thier decisions and actions.
This book is not all about sex or BDSM rather it is about healing and coming to terms with yourself enough to enable you to truly love another person. At least thats what I got out of it. Yes there were some Hott scenes and some sad ones and definalty emotional ones while the underlining "relationship" worked its way out.
Gabe has issues with his past that has caused him to lock his emotions away. He sees it as a weakness. Reagan knows he needs to let someone in and let his emotions out. She is not some shy quite submissive. She puts him in his place and will tell his straight up if he is being a jerk, and that is just what he needs.
There is a lot of back and forth in this book just like in most relationships be it "normal" or not. I would recommend this book.
Thank you Kelly Jamieson and Goodreads giveaways for opportunity to win, read, and review this book.

Power Shift was one of those books that, for me, started out a bit slow but soon became a very captivating story. Gabe was a very complex character, which explains why it took me a little while to get emotionally attached to him. He was a very compelling man once it started becoming clear how his past experiences had shaped who he had become. Reagan was also a very complicated personality to describe. She was not a push over, nor was she a soft character who could be manipulated easily. Both she and Gabe had some realistic knee jerk reactions to things that didn’t always seem run-of-the-mill but they definitely seemed human to me.
I don’t think that people always react a certain way to every experience. I enjoy this kind of behavior in characters when it isn’t so farfetched that it is unbelievable because we all do or say things sometimes and then look back and think to ourselves….”Where did that come from? I never do that. ” I believe that Ms. Jamieson had a pretty good instinct for when a character would do something just a little out of the norm.
The other characters in the book were also interesting enough to me that I will need to read the other books that they are in. These books are not really listed as a series but as connected books. Power Struggle, and Taming Tara, are the other titles. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a story where two people have given up on love but love hasn’t given up on them.
Favorite Quote: “You’re practically begging for it, aren’t you?” he murmured.
“No.”
His chuckle rasped over her senses. “I like begging, Reagan.”
“I’m not going to beg.”
He was silent for a moment, his fingers still playing, and she wondered if she’d said the wrong thing. Then he said softly, “Damn.”
I was lucky enough to win this through Goodreads, so thanks Kellie! I'm not much for erotica books, and this was the first erotica book I read. I really found the characters likeable. I found Gabe a bittt over the top cliched, with his "I am inhuman I don't show emotions!" persona. However, the scenes were hot.
Loved it! Although I have several of Ms. Jamieson's books on my TBR list, this was my first to read and it will not be my last. Give Power Shift a try...you may be pleasantly surprised!
I really wanted to like this one. However I felt it read like a re-take of Tara and Joe's story. However with the added component of finally the hero getting some BDSM action done to him/some butt play a bit. And the heroine, was sounding like an obsessed girl scout. Out to accomplish as many challenges as possible and get a badge for things. It got uber annoying. I mean I get that her background left her feeling out of control cause others in her past did so much for her. But it just read like her whole life was a challenge checklist, and it was rather uninspiring.
Also a very important side note. Truly nothing against you Ms. Jamieson or other authors that do this when writing BDSM stories. But I just want to say, that although I'm not an expert on this particular lifestyle or even one to really tell someone how to do their research. But please, when you are writing a story/series like this again in the future. Please be careful of word usage. Because as a reader I literally cringed a few times, when the heroines that are bold, and strong, and confident enough to explore and eventually say what they want in a bedroom and from their partners. End up using language such as "I choose to be hurt by him". And someone(any one) can correct me if I am wrong. But when someone is delving into a Dominant and Submissive relationship, after truly discussing limits, safe words, etc. shouldn't it be safe to say, that it's a given that neither side should be out to "HURT" any one or even themselves?
Perhaps it's just word choice that is getting me about this. But to me, if you truly have been exploring this lifestyle with a trusting, loving, and caring partner. Then you should already know that you both should be doing things that are safe, sane, and consensual. And I would imagine be talking about such things with close friends(in this case Regan, Tara, and Tori), in a way that it doesn't sound like you want someone to just throw you around the room cause that is what he deems you need. But make it more about a consensual experience of give and take like any relationship and it's not all one sided(again like Tori and Tara made it sound when Regan was trying to express a desire to take care of Gabe in a more Dominant way too at times and they both shot her down with that's not how it works). Because again to me as the reader, it conveys to me that BDSM isn't just a different lifestyle choice. It is something about hurting, harming, women getting abused etc. Therein also making the heroines seem like they have a really bad case of Stockholm Syndrome too. Where the heroes can do whatever to them and they still love it. Which isn't the case. Just something to think about.
That was my biggest beef with the trilogy. Aside from the flow of information at times. I mean I get wanting to create the world and build it up etc. But at times I felt the bigger issues could have been brought up to the middle of the story and not quite tucked away at the end. Because by the time the end comes around it's all "I love you's, you will drive me crazy, but it's all good" and the news isn't properly being processed. And it's getting lost in a bunch of kisses and wrapping things up. Like Gabe he had tons of stuff in his back story, that I thought could have been staggered throughout and not dished in one big info dump at the end along with the other stuff going on. Could have done the same with Regan's past too. I mean she had 3 big things that could have very easily been broken up. And they could have bonded over in a shifting of different emotional experiences etc.
But yea overall I give the trilogy a two and half stars. Had some good moments and some things to be worked on. Overall it was decent.
When Gabe finds himself in a rut he follows a friend's advice and takes a break from the lifestyle and the club. Yet just as he decides to do such a thing he finds Reagan. She sets everything in him on edge making him wonder just what it all means. Gabe sees Reagan as a woman off limits but life has other plan for the two of them. Could it be that Gabe the Master Dom that everyone looks to has finally met his match or will his own stubbornness be his downfall?
I was glad to see Gabe find his match. He is a very intense individual and it takes a strong woman to stand up to him. Reagan is just that woman. I loved Reagan from the start. She is a woman on a mission. Having always been controlled she finally decides to take back her life and do things for herself. I liked the fact that she constantly looked for a challenge to do to make herself better no matter how small or big and Gabe is certainly a challenge. The intensity of their feelings throughout their building relationship was a wonderful read. No matter what, Reagan loves Gabe and tries to help him. I felt for Gabe as he went through so much in this book and hoped that he would finally turn to Reagan for help. The two make a wonderful couple, each understanding and giving the other just what they need.
This book was not only a hot read but also a beautiful story about friendship and romance. We get Reagan and Gabe’s story, and we also get to revisit the two other couples from this series. If you have not read the previous books I would advise you to read them. Though this story will stand alone, you would get a much better feel and understanding of the story and the characters if you read the others. If you have read them then, like me, you will thoroughly enjoy this book and its wonderful story even more so.
I really enjoyed this book. I loved watching the relationship unfold between Gabe and Reagan. I also liked that the other couples from the first 2 books were part of thus one! I am really enjoying Ms. Jamiesons books. So glad she was recommended to me to read.
Love/hate relationships are my thing, but here? It's simply fake. I don't feel it, there is no spark or even a glimpse of.. something. Everything is flat and BLEH.
