These short, connected stories follow the relationship between Violet Porter, a tough-talking pastry chef at Market restaurant, and Jonathan Wildman, a sweet, sexy organic farmer from the Union Square Greenmarket. Violet and Jonathan first meet a week before Market opens (an event described in more detail in my debut novel Can’t Stand the Heat) and every installment offers a new peek into their ongoing love story.

Since I write their story in between and around my contracted Recipe for Love books, it can sometimes be a bit of a wait between installments. Sorry! I have no plans at this time to turn these stories into a full-length, full-price novel—they’re intended to be a gift to my readers, and a chance for me to play with a group of characters who mean a lot to me.

I hope you enjoy reading about Violet and Jonathan as much as I enjoy writing about them!

Louisa Edwards was born in Austin, but grew up in Virginia, where she started reading romance around the age of eleven. She graduated with honors from Bryn Mawr College and landed her first job in publishing as an Editorial Assistant at Berkley and built her own list of authors, earning a promotion to Assistant Editor.

Then real life romance ensued: Louisa married a journalist and moved to a small town in Ohio where she critiqued restaurants for the local paper and began writing the Recipe for Love novels, a series of contemporary romances with a strong culinary theme. Her debut novel, CAN’T STAND THE HEAT, was released by St. Martin’s Press in September 2009 to rave reviews. The second novel in the series, ON THE STEAMY SIDE came out in March 2010, followed by JUST ONE TASTE in September 2010.

The series will continue with TOO HOT TO TOUCH (on sale August 2, 2011), SOME LIKE IT HOT (November 29, 2011), and HOT UNDER PRESSURE (April 2012), a trilogy about a team of talented chefs in a high-stakes culinary competition.

Louisa recently moved back to Austin with her husband. They and their two dogs are already completely in love with it!

I absolutely love Ms Edwards' Recipe for Love/Rising Star collection & have eagerly awaited for ANYTHING else to release. I was soooo happy to learn that there were three shorts related to the Recipe/Rising series available & had to jump on them immediately. I am sad that part one is so short, but am looking forward to the next part!

Please write more full-length novels soon!

This is a free item available on the author's website. It's so short I can't even rate it! Seems like she is adding a chapter at a time to an ongoing story.
